I booked the U-haul close only to find out that place was closed and I had to drive 26 miles to pick up the trailer. It was a remote location with poor cell service which made checking in a challenge. Getting that done I drove back 28 miles and stopped for gas. I immediately smelled brakes and saw that the trailer emergency brake mechanism was up and the brakes were locked. I called the place I got it from and a few minutes later found that they had no tools to repair it. I was given the service number and called it. They were 1.5 hours away. Using a big country man (and I mean BIG) we were able to reset it and cancel the service. I should had never been allowed to leave and drive 28 miles with the brakes locked.

Shirley CI was diverted to this location after being sent to a location in Demopolus, AL that had been closed for months. This was AFTER being diverted from the location in Tuscaloosa where I had initially reserved the trailer. This cost me an additional four hours of my time and a tank of gas. Uhaul only offered a $50 discount for trouble. Grade: F. Note: Gentleman at McVays was very nice and helpful but Uhaul reservations failed miserably.
