I reserved a truck and pads online and was sent to this store. They called an hour before pickup and said they did not have pads and I would need to get them from another store. I did, which added to my moving time, and dropping them off added to my return time. The physical store was locked and full of many barking dogs. I called and was told to wait by an apartment building next door in the rain. The apartment had a metal band practicing inside. After three songs (while waiting in the rain), the U-Haul person came out with the keys. We had to do the online signature and paperwork on his phone in the rain outside the metal band apartment complex. The check engine light was on the truck, and there was 1/4 a tank of gas when we started the truck. Because we had to go to the other store to pick up and return the moving pads, we were 30 minutes late returning the truck (aka 4.5 hours vs 4 hours), which resulted in them charging us for two days with the truck when we had it for a total of five hours. There was no employee there for the return. We were told to leave in an off-premises gravel driveway and leave the key in a drop box that required walking through a massive and deep puddle. This was not professional experience. The lack of facilities, product, and staff made what was already a long day even more difficult. As a woman, I would not have felt safe in this experience had I not had someone with me. I wish I had booked at the staffed U-Haul I went to for the pads.

Curtis SThis was not the location I chose for drop-off, and it was switched without any kind of prior notice. It wasn’t until we parked the truck at the my chosen drop off site and used the app to “return the rental” when it gave me a different drop off location. I rented a big truck so it was inconvenient to back it in at the first location, just to have to move it out to a different drop-off location.
