I booked my uhaul trailer in Kelowna 2 weeks before my move out date. When I checked in, I was notified that my trailer will not be in my for booked date and I will have to drive to Merritt to pick up my trailer, which is a 3 hour round trip. This was very frustrating due too the lost of 3 hours of my moving day, the extra money spent on gas and I felt like I was doing their job transporting the trailer. It took me 2 additional hours just to pay and pick up my trailer. I left Kelowna at 7am and got back to my home at 12, I lost 5 hours on my move out day just to get a trailer that should of taken 30 minutes. I understand things don't always go as planned but I thought hey maybe I would be compensated for my time to drive and pick up the tailer. I talked to a representative that seemed very annoyed that I would even think that uhaul should help me, he said they would give me 30 - 40 bucks off my bill which does not cover my gas or the 5 hours of my life gone in a very stressful situation, which also costed me a financial penalty at my property I was moving out from. The trailer I received had the right break/turn signal out.MATHEW B.

Rented a 26' truck at 3PM on June 29th, returned at 10AM on June 30th, 5 hours early, the following day, no issues. Picked up a 5x8 trailer for 24 hours on June 30th (this contract) to finish up, paid for the 24 hour rental period + $30 deposit and all insurances. Lady at the desk told me it would be ok to bring back a few hours late the next day because of the holiday (Canada Day). Brought it back a few hours late the next day, U-Haul emails me saying it was due back at 5pm on the SAME DAY I rented it (June 30th), a mere 6 HOURS after I picked it up, and that they were charging me THREE FULL RENTAL PERIODS. I get if you guys want to bottom-feed for the few late hours and keep my deposit for an extta day, even though your rep LIED & said it would be ok to bring back a few hours late, but charging 3 entire days for a few hours late is just stealing, plain and simple. U-Haul will never get my business again. I hope that's worth the 38 bucks you stole. Pathetic.SCOTT B.

We had no instruction where to leave the trailer as the gates were locked so we left it outside the gate which we were worried it could be stolen. We tried calling but could only leave a message with no return call. Location would have been great if we could get into the parking area and felt comfortable with the drop off location.SANDI K.

It was a online pick up and the uhaul web site was very difficult to use, things would not load properly on my phone and the location part made it difficult. The people I talked to on the phone were all very helpful but there were way to many steps to pick up and drop off the van online.Michael R.

It was good for me I can say to much. One thing I would suggest is when selling the mattress bags either get bigger bags or let people know they are for a standard size Jung Queen Diuble or twin. If you have a pillow top or something like that that these bags will not fit anything but standard plain Jane. It is not a one size fits allStephanie-Dawn D.
I was told that if I paid for extra Km's upfront, the unused amount would be refunded. When I dropped off the truck I was not refunded for the unused km's. I suggest you provide the refund as promised in the next two business days, after which interest will begin accruing at a 20% interest rate.Ryan B.

I made a reservation a week in advance and I did not get a call till the day before that the equipment wasn't going to be at the chosen pick up point. I was told I would have to travel 2 hrs out of my way to get the equipment. I would recommend an attempt be made to get the equipment transfered to requested location and 'if not' - call and let the customer know with more advanced warning than the day before.Dave G.

The representative was friendly at the local location; however, your equipment is unsafe! Two tires on this vehicle were unsafe, 1 blew. If maintenance was being done on your vehicles, we wouldn't have had this issue and put the lives of people at risk. We have pictures of the tires that prove the shape that they were in. We traveled apprx 350km. Also, when calling in for roadside assistance, we are a customer in Canada, we go by Kilometres...not up to me to do the conversion into miles. I will not be renting a vehicle from you in the future.Derlanda H.

We were very happy with the degree of accommodation supplied by the agent in Merritt. He could not have been more helpful in finding a solution for our difficult situation after the engine went out of our car so far from home. The only thing that could have made things better would have been if the van was supplied with tire chains. Driving 2-300 miles on glare ice on mountain roads with the weight of the trailer behind the empty van, was not exactly relaxing. However, we got home safely and gratefully. Seemed to redo application process when picking.up the rental. If someone were in a time.sensitive/ or.just.impatient with having to duplicate, you could see.some getting annoyed. I was unable to figure out how to change the drop off location online when I made my reservation. I thought I could make the change when I picked up the uhaul. The uhaul rep in Savona was unable to figure out how to change the drop off and told me to call a 1-800 number. I called and they were unable to resolve so I was charged triple the original quote. Very disappointed and frustrated.margaret H.

I was very impressed with the drop off location. The staff was very understanding and helpful. I give 10 great stars for the drop off. It was a very stressful move as we moved on the long weekend. The customer support on phone is the worst you guys have. I talked to a supervisor on duty and she could not assist me in where I should park the u haul as I was having trouble finding a spot to park. She did not know I could just park outside as there was a drop box outside the gates. She said I will have to come back in morning from Vancouver to merrit to park and I'll have to pay for the miles too.Angad B.

The man was so helpful and very nice. We did not realize we got there and delayed his lunch hour, until we were finished with the paper work and were going out to the truck.. we felt pretty awful about that, but he said nothing and was very nice to us....Kathy J.
The only problem I had was that I reserved a 26ft truck and when I went to pick it up it was gone. It was rented to someone out of Hope BC and I was stuck with a much smaller truck that required more trips to move. The agent was very apologetic but I was not happy. If someone reserves a specific size truck then U-Haul should honor that or the rental should be free.dana D.

I called them to confirm they received the truck and that everything was in order and the person was very friendly and professional on the phone. Give a bit more KM's for the renter. I owed about $1.80 (ish) because I was 3km over the allotted mileage. As long as the renter doesnt rat-bag the truck, and pays for the fuel, overages shouldnt really be a thingKevin K.
