I reserved a trailer in Kamloops a week earlier and had to pick up a trailer in Merritt. It cost more than I was quoted and I had to tow an empty trailer longer than I had planned, and had to pick it up a day early. The entire Uhaul online reservation was terrible. The Merritt location was great to work with. Funny how I can’t rate the reservation experience. That’s a zero star rating.

Timothy VI would recommend this location to anyone. Would I recommend U-Haul as a company to use to move. Absolutely not. We had reserved a truck and the day before we were told that it was no longer available and that we would have to drive to Kelowna to now pick up a truck. Well considering we live in Merritt currently and were moving to Kelowna that would be silly especially since you pay for km's. We had movers ready for our reservation time and then I had to pay them not only for the time i had slotted but then again for the next morning as that is when we could get another truck (larger then the original truck that we ordered) and then we had to rush it back as well. We originally had a truck reserved for Thursday at 1:30 and were to bring it back on the Saturday but because of the screw up we had only had one day to move. That was load it up and then unload it and have the truck back to Merritt. on the same day. I would consider yourself lucky to have such great people working the Merritt location, as they were so great about everything. I would never recommend U-haul to others

Gary MI rent the trailer in Surrey and wish to drop off in Merritt. This location gate in merritt closed on weekends and holiday. I had to leave the trailer in the street worried if the trailer may get stolen. I don't know what's happening with the trailer yet. Not a good feeling
Tuong LMade me grab a taxi for $500 dollars from Surrey to Merritt and I was told about this around 7PM. Worse service ever.

James LThe staff are really helpful but it would be really great if this location was open on Saturdays when most people move things. Getting there before 4:30 on a Friday is difficult.

Bruce WWe returned the unit three days early but didn’t get a refund on the $15 per day insurance or the fact that they could rent it out to someone else for those three days
LOUIS BI was told the day before that there would be a furniture dolly and blankets in the truck when arrived Depot was closed did self check in to find neither were there

Bruce WThe tow dolly for my jeep wasn’t at this location when we went to pick up moving truck so we had to go all the way to Kamloops and then back to Lillooet to move. The lady was nice and we got a discount on the extra miles but it put stress on the move and too and made us late. Part of life just saying.

Chris HI will never use U-Haul again due to the poor customer service on the Corporate end, each vendor was amazing and I had no issues with them however U-haul Corporation was a nightmare to deal with and I will never use them again and advise to all my friends and family to never use them again and I will post on social media #U-haul via twitter to let everyone know how poor the customer service is on the 1-800 numbers Thanks

Wendyl COrdered online ahead of time to show up at the location on day of pick up and said they had nothing and turned me away. Luckily i was within walking distance of Merritt Machine works (the other u haul location in Merritt and they thankfully had something i could use. If they didn’t i would be completely SOL. Reliable towing Merritt location had the most unhelpful person ive ever met, in charge of the u haul department there. I would give that location ten thumbs down and would not recomend to anyone.
Brian PIts not the location that was the problem. When we got there to pick up our trailer that we rented it was not there. We had to make alternative arrangements with this location.
CAROL DWe reserved equipment a month in advance for our move for pick up at a location near us. At time of pickup,we were informed we’d have to travel an hour away to pickup! This cost us not only 2 hours of time, but $100 in fuel!!! When I INSISTED on some form of compensation I was told there’s nothing they can do!! Only I reminded them their policy states a $50 compensation be applied did they offer it. We were VERY disappointed!
shannon sI was supposed to pick up at a location 100km away and the location changed on me as I was driving to pick it up.When I arrived at the new location, over an hour drive away, I was told there was no Uhaul for me. I also incurred almost $200 in mileage charges due to the location change.

Kenneth SI booked my uhaul trailer in Kelowna 2 weeks before my move out date. When I checked in, I was notified that my trailer will not be in my for booked date and I will have to drive to Merritt to pick up my trailer, which is a 3 hour round trip. This was very frustrating due too the lost of 3 hours of my moving day, the extra money spent on gas and I felt like I was doing their job transporting the trailer. It took me 2 additional hours just to pay and pick up my trailer. I left Kelowna at 7am and got back to my home at 12, I lost 5 hours on my move out day just to get a trailer that should of taken 30 minutes. I understand things don't always go as planned but I thought hey maybe I would be compensated for my time to drive and pick up the tailer. I talked to a representative that seemed very annoyed that I would even think that uhaul should help me, he said they would give me 30 - 40 bucks off my bill which does not cover my gas or the 5 hours of my life gone in a very stressful situation, which also costed me a financial penalty at my property I was moving out from. The trailer I received had the right break/turn signal out.
MATHEW BRented a 26' truck at 3PM on June 29th, returned at 10AM on June 30th, 5 hours early, the following day, no issues. Picked up a 5x8 trailer for 24 hours on June 30th (this contract) to finish up, paid for the 24 hour rental period + $30 deposit and all insurances. Lady at the desk told me it would be ok to bring back a few hours late the next day because of the holiday (Canada Day). Brought it back a few hours late the next day, U-Haul emails me saying it was due back at 5pm on the SAME DAY I rented it (June 30th), a mere 6 HOURS after I picked it up, and that they were charging me THREE FULL RENTAL PERIODS. I get if you guys want to bottom-feed for the few late hours and keep my deposit for an extta day, even though your rep LIED & said it would be ok to bring back a few hours late, but charging 3 entire days for a few hours late is just stealing, plain and simple. U-Haul will never get my business again. I hope that's worth the 38 bucks you stole. Pathetic.
SCOTT BWe had no instruction where to leave the trailer as the gates were locked so we left it outside the gate which we were worried it could be stolen. We tried calling but could only leave a message with no return call. Location would have been great if we could get into the parking area and felt comfortable with the drop off location.
