The cashier had no idea how to ring me up for a cash payment for the rental. When I returned the uhaul later that evening, the guy tried to keep my $100 deposit. Saying they only owed me $30 back. I had to explain everything to them.

What the fuck is the point of doing the online pickup if A. You're going to make me sit out in the cold while I wait for verification (more on that later) and B. If you're just going to have me go inside to talk and wait for numerous people (all of whom confused as to why it says "picked up" if I don't have the key yet) to give me the key??? If I still have to go inside then its not really online is it? As for verification, what the fuck is the point of me giving you a name and a phone number of somebody else? I just gave you my 17 year old friends number and he just said "yes" and hung up. And that's what you wanted??? What sort of verification is that? What does that do for you as a company? Also you should probably warn people that the verification process (the 5 steps or whatever) as well as waiting for the Ace Hardware people to station someone at the "Helpful Hub" takes a solid 20-25 minutes, and that is included in your so called rental time (which is also bullshit). Like fuck me this was such an inefficient, counterintuitive, and frustrating process. I'd rather make 18 trips in my fucking prius than move using one of your trucks again.

The cargo van was dirty outside and in. We took it straight to the car wash. Other than that, the cargo van performance and rental service experience were outstanding for our 2000 mile long distance trip.

The truck appeared to be a local U-Haul truck for the ACE Hardware location. It was very dirty and beat up. I picked up the truck at 9:00am on 10/17/20 and was told that it was due back at 9:00am the next morning. When I arrived at 8:45am, I found that the location did not open until 10:00am and I waited. The check in process started right as the location opened and the person helping me disappeared several to check on something and then asked me to come to his office as another person was using that computer. After going to his office he seamed to stare at his computer for 15 minutes before telling me that I would need to pay for a half tank of gas. I told him that I had filled it up and he told me that was not what the gage said. I then had to take him to the truck to show him that the gage did read full. We returned to his office and he still had to call someone too help him the complete the check in. This hole process took over 30 minutes after I had been there for 75 minutes.

I saw the $19.95 per day and failed to notice the “ and fees” part so was unpleasantly surprised to be charged $40. I went ahead with the rental but next tine I need something like this i'll ask a friend with a pickup truck to transport my purchase instead of spending $40.

I received an estimate at the time of the reservation, but that was not honored on the rental day. I had asked for a copy of the estimate, but was assured it would be in the computer for me. It was not. The difference cost me an extra $100! I never received the estimate via email, either.

The person that did my check out told me I could not change my reservation, I was needing the truck for only 1 day instead of 2, that they would reimburse me when I turned the truck in. When I turned the truck in, they told me the opposite.....so I had to pay for 2 days anyway ...wasted my $$

We returned the truck early but after hours. We tried to check it in using the app but it wouldn't move past the screen where we tried to upload the photo of the odometer and gas tank. We tried repeatedly for almost an hour to do this. Finally we contacted the help app and Amy responded after about 10 minutes of waiting for someone to help and told us to upload a photo to an email address (uhaul_cares@uhaul.com) and explain the situation, which we did. But we still got charged a $20 fee even though it wasn't our fault we were unable to complete the check-in process due to website error. I'm not happy about this. I also left the truck with 1/4 tank more gas than I got it. I'll use Penske from now on.

When you have paid cash on a deposit by cash you should receive cash back upon return of truck. The representative in Topeka automatically put it on my debit card. I needed the cash back so it caused a hardship. They should ask customer before just doing it.

Absolutely useless. I was forced to use the app to do business online when I was short on time and they contested my return with no respect for my opinion. I've had nothing but a great U-Haul experience up until now. I deeply appreciate U-Haul, it has brought me halfway across the country. However, I couldn't get across town with anything but delays and disappoints this time. No fault to U-Haul, it seems your satellite franchisees are slacking under pressure

I had called to reserve a truck, I was told the employees at the Uhaul counter were busy. My number was taken down to be called back, but time had went by and no phone call. So the wife and I decided to come to town, because the Uhaul in Wamego was closed. We arrived at Ace Hardware and I went inside to go to the Uhaul counter. I noticed that it seemed a little chaotic behind the counter. Employees coming and going, one employee was on the phone while using the computer. Other employees reaching around him for stuff, the Uhaul counter seems to be in a bad spot....right in the center of the store. Why not put it near the back or the side door when they have you ready to pick one up. Once being helped, the employee seems to stay focused on completing to check you out so you can be on your way. Maybe it's looks like chaos to a customer, but maybe to the employees behind the counter there's harmony to the flow. Overall experience went good, the young man very helpful and answered my questions. I ended up getting what I wanted as far as the size of the truck and I was on my way in no time.

They took FOREVER to check people in. Wht bother booking on-line, it didn't matter and didn't save me any time. The associate was clueless and didn't explain mileage overage, extra charges, how the extra insurance worked. Just kept saying my full coverage auto insurance wouldn't cover anything. You need to certify people that represent your company!! Clueless help = not a good impression of Uhaul! Next time checking with the competition...

1. Rented van and trailer for 1 day use the night of 8/13. Was told it was ok to park van and trailer on site overnight until use first thing in morning. Arrived in the morning to find trailer unhooked and removed, was delayed waiting for staff to locate and hook up trailer. 2. Returned van and trailer that night for 630pm return and waited for staff to help. Around 7pm someone eventually helped, I handed the keys over and was told nothing was needed from me. Received a email Receipt later and was charged for 2 days rental instead of 1. This is not a honest business if customers are being cheated.

I paid $400 for a car dolly and when I went to pick it up there was a massive crack in the fender. I pointed it out to the associate and she said there is already a damage sticker on it, so I would not get charged. She put an additional sticker on it to ensure I would not get charged at the new location. On my way driving across the country the fender bent backwards and began slapping the tow vehicle. I had to pull over on the highway and use zip ties to secure the fender so I could continue the trip. There were minor scratches that I believe I may be able to buff out, but I didn't pay $400 to have to zip tie a fender and then do manual labor to get the scratches out. This is unacceptable and from now on uhual will be my last resort.

I reserved a 20 foot truck. You didn't have one there on the agreed-upon day. My sister drove 7 hours, and I drove 2.5 hours, to get to Manhattan KS in order to move everything out of my recently deceased Mother's house. I had three young guys lined up to help move. You ruined the whole thing by giving me a 15 ft truck that wouldn't hold everything. I will have to borrow a trailer, hook it up, and make another round trip from Kansas City to Manhattan to finish the move, and in the meantime, the realtor who will help sell the house can't take pictures because it is not empty. Your terrible service will cost me about $150 in travel expenses, not counting my valuable time, and maybe hundreds more in that the house will now not get on the market by the time Kansas state univ students, or their parents, are looking to buy a house. I will never use u haul again, and will recommend to anyone who asks that they not use u haul either. No business with any hint of conscious would put me in the bind in which you put me. Thanks SO MUCH for taking my money and not giving me what you promised in return. It is hard to imagine how I could be less happy with your service.

The vehicle I was driving is in desperate need of a front end alignment. Had to hold the steering wheel at a 45 degree angle to keep it on the road and it still wanted to pull to the right. I am glad I only had to drive 150 miles. It was a very stressful drive. Your trucks need to be maintained better mechanically.

update your inventory of trailers / vehicles online. the location i went to had the trailer that i was lookin for. however, online it said there was not any and that i needed to consider substitutions. also i feel like you as a company should be doing military discounts. i say that because a lot of things that happen in military careers is a lot of last second change of plans or cancellation, i know plenty of people who had to drop everything they had so they could move their house hold goods by themselves because the military transportation office is not the best. it would help a lot to at least be able to save some money they weren't able or ready to spend on things like this
