Iva GCheck that the equipment works properly before renting it. The back truck door would not shut after trying many times. Finally, when we have up and sat in the truck we felt and heard a loud bang. The door had slammed shut. We called uhaul. Long story short, we were on the road 5 hours late and the back door could t be fixed. The guy who was sent to fix it stated that the cable drum wires had to have been tangled for a long period of time and we were the unlucky ones. Luckily, the movers at the next important were strong enough to get the door open. It would have taken a uhaul rep. 2 minutes to look at the cable drums/reels to see if they are tangled. Someone could have been seriously hurt or killed had they been standing in the way of the door when it slammed shut.

KMONTEJAMEZ AI have rented from Moose several times in the past when I needed a piece of equipment. Moose is always on top of her equipment and I've never had an issue with it. Highly recommend this UHaul dealer.
JERRY DTrucks were in rough shape, but fully functional. We had rented to truck and did not realize how HIGH the backs were ... in hindsight, we would have rented a trailer as we then had to get a ramp to get into and out of the truck.
ROBERT GMy uhaul was very dirty in cargo area. It also smelled. Blankets and trash was left by previous renters. Not sure why truck was not cleaned before renting out.

john RI reserved my equipment at a different U-Haul location online, but received an email an hour after making my reservation that changed it to this location (Mooses). Mooses was much less convenient for me, and I was told I had to drop the equipment back at this same location. Upon picking up the equipment, we were told we needed to go to Tractor Supply for a different adapter for the trailer; the employee said the UHaul location usually had them for sale but didn't have any left at that time. That took us an extra 30-40 minutes and more hassle than we anticipated. Beyond that, the trailer worked well.

Justin Gstaff was friendly and helpful. finalizing the equipment check-out problem held up by 15-20 minutes due to computer glitch at U-Haul headquarters payment center. I would rent from this location again in the future.

RICHARD TThe truck I used was very clean, but I rented it on a hot day and as the cab warmed up it smelled more and more of marijuana. I don't know if there is anything that the dealer could have done about this because it seemed the cab had been cleaned after the last use. The check engine light also came on shortly before I returned the truck.

SUSAN WI did a night drop off. Location was closed, no contact with staff. The Area was very dark they need to install outside lighting. Did not fell safe at drop off.
Jerry HEverything was ready and maintained/ the lot is dusty and muddy pothole filled as my only negative, but isn’t that how most independent locations are? So a non-issue, but if that’s the worst that’s wonderful. I really appreciated the phone call from the manager a day before confirming the rental, supplies and self check in process.

BRUCE QOur u-haul started smoking on the highway going 65mph. Smoke coming through the air vents. We sat on the side of the road about an hour waiting for assistance. When I returned the u-haul the rep said since we had to call road side assistance we would get a discount. We did not receive a discount. When I called back the rep basically said I was lying and nothing was wrong with the truck. They also said that there was no record of us calling road side assistance. I now have to file a claim through the website. I will never rent a u-haul again.

EDWARD WWe rented a 15 foot truck; I have confirmation in my email. When the rental day came, they 1) pushed my pickup period back by 30 minutes and 2) rented me a 26 foot truck without informing me of the switch. When I went back to inquire about the much larger truck, they shrugged and didn't apologize. The actual 26 foot truck was clean and had no issues, but it wasn't what I had ordered. If the location had been transparent with me, I would have respected that.

FRANK MThis location feels like a junkyard. The lot is muddy gravel and dirt. There is sketchy stuff on the back of the property. I have had previous experiences with this location, and originally did not select it for my return location. But I was asked to select a different location and was credited money to do so, so I did.
PETER DI rented a U-haul from Moose’s by The Creek and when I arrived an hour and 45 minutes after my reserved time, I was told that my U-haul was already rented to someone else. The person at the desk was rude. They ended up finding me another truck, however the check engine light was on and the rear cargo door couldn’t be closed. The truck had 137,306 miles and was not in good shape.

NOAH DU-Haul system was in absolute chaos when I arrived to pick up my equipment. I felt terrible for the staff at Moose's who were constantly on the phone with support just trying to get reservations that were already placed in advance out the door. I tried to do mobile check in and it wouldn't let me do it and I ended up being at the location for almost an hour waiting on the computer to finally respond to push my reservation pick up through. I don't hold any of these problems on the staff of the location, its all on your distribution system.
NATHANMILLER SI had a truck booked for about a week and a half. And went to pick it up and there was no truck available at the Location , I had booked it four waited for hours for them to find another truck. And when they did find one I had to drive to Charlottesville to pick up. The people there were nice. I Finally get the truck. Go to where I'm supposed to be moving. My mother-in-law out of her apartment. Open the door to the truck and there's no Dolly head call back to the store and I had to send my husband all the way back there to pick it up.hopefully ya'll can fix. This issue I think it's too many people booking. Trucks that are already booked to someone else. Meaning customer service doesn't know what's going on in the field.

Philip SLocation was at the city limits, ghetto and very rundown. The original code I was given didn’t even work and many others at the same location experienced the same issues.
Francis CThe only downfall was when I was filling it up, the gauge didn't work. So you got a full tank of gas vs. The 3/4 tank.
JOAN RI only gave this rating because nothing else was applicable. I returned the truck after hours. The office was closed. The truck yard was dirt based--not concrete or asphalt. They seemed to have a lot of trucks to rent plus other trailers.

Karyn DHave rented trailer from Moose’s several times. They are alway on top of everything. Had on issue with the hookup this time which was a fuse on my vehicle. They assisted in troubleshooting and got me on my way. Most places would have just said sorry you can’t take it. Really appreciated their willingness to help and the personal touch of going the extra mile. Will always use Moose’s for my rental needs going forward.

LEWIS FThey closed at 5:00 PM. I did not arrive until around 5:15 PM Saturday night. I did not go into the office. It was locked and closed. I had trouble loading photo's with the self-check out app. Had to call the 1-800 number to see if I had shelf checked in the trailer. I never saw any personnel at 1710 Monticello Rd. They were closed. I arrive after hours.
