I reserved a trailer from the Plymouth location and they did not have the trailer available, and told me to call u-haul. I called and they changed the reservation the the new hope location for a 9:00 am pickup. I arrived at the new hope location a little early and I had to wait for over an hour for an employee to arrive at the location. Overall nothing was unacceptable, but there was a lot of hassle for a trailer.Corbyn C.

When returning rented moving blankets the customer should not be required to fold all of them themselves. They have already paid for the rental, the staff should be energetic enough to fold moving blankets upon return. The customer is already paying half the cost of the blankets just to rent them, and the staff is too lazy per corporate policy to take care of returned items? Ridiculous. Your computer system is pathetic. Both upon rental and return the staff could not figure out how to use the computer system to do a simple rental and return, truly, a paper system would have been much faster and less of a hassle. I do not blame the staff, but the poor design of the system itself and it's numerous malfunctions, for wasting my time. Next time, I may use a competitor as I had moved and had to drive all the way to the rental location to return my product. Usually, when I rent items, I am allowed to return to any store location. This was the experience of a customer who simply rented moving blankets, I cannot imagine renting blankets, a truck, and a dolly and trying to watch everyone bungle over that transaction while having the hubris to insist I "fold my own blankets" upon return. The experience with UHaul overall was awful!! We rented the truck for my brother in law over the phone via 800 number. I specifically asked her about the charges that will be charged on our credit card. She said it would not be charged til the truck was returned. The location was changed without asking us first. I called the New Hope location to confirm pick up time and what my brother in law needed to bring. He said a DL/CC. However I said that we are paying for the truck rental and I gave the CC number to the reservation agent. He said since there was one on file he did not need to bring it. Then when my brother in law picked up the truck, he was charged! Which was a huge inconvenience because we were paying for the truck because he did not have the funds. The Field Manager from the New Hope location was suppose to call me, but did not. I had to call the 800 number this whole process took me an 1 1/2 hr making phone calls, so my brother in law could get his money back. It was a terrible experience!!!Ben T.

The truck was in good shape but it was parallel parked and snowed in so it took 20 minutes to get unstuck and out. The self checkout also took 20 minutes because the directions are unclear. Overall 40 minutes of our 4 hour rental were spent getting the truck.Travis E.

They were not in any way capable of checking over the trailer I picked up. It had an old under inflated tire on it. When they hooked up the trailer they did not hook up the safety brake chain correctly. The trailer was parked in a spot that made it very difficult o get out of the lot easily WHY do you change pick up locations on someone when I set my request up for pickup at a different place!Randall H.

We were a bit disappointed as we had a very long haul for moving and rented a trailer. No one came out with us to the uhaul for pickup to inspect the trailer or assist with hitching. The only reason anyone came out was when we went in to ask for assistance as we could not get the hitch on the ball hitch. Had someone come out and inspected the trailer prior or even during pick up they would have noticed that two of the tires were almost completely thread bare with no track left. This caused us to blow a tire and be waiting for almost 3 hours for a tire change on the side of a busy highway.Lexi Z.

The pick up did not go well. The previous renter had not returned the uHaul yet. I would recommend monitoring drop off times to make sure they are returned in time for the next renter. I had to wait an hour beyond my rental time. The woman at the service desk was very helpful in tracking it down but I still spent an hour waiting.Amy C.
Online check-in did not expedite anything. Employee was not at location at reservation time. Long delay. Appreciate she was pleasant and apologetic but the checkout process was long despite doing the online steps. Rental time clock started when pickup time was scheduled (10 am), not when we actually got truck (11:30 am). Very frustrating.MARTHA B.

We were allotted 35 miles and then would need to pay an additional fee per mile over that by the other U-Haul we made the original reservation with. This U-Haul told me by phone they would add 18 miles to that for having to drive 20-25 miles (depending on freeway used) to pick up a truck when one wasn't available where reserved. But when they produced the invoice only gave me 15. Small difference but we were within those 3 miles and most importantly it wasn't what they quoted. The Drop off U-Haul did give us those 3 miles though. Everything else was excellent.DARBA B.
Your computer systems/check in changed and the person behind the desk did not know this. They had to call a supervisor twice to figure things out. This process took almost 20min. Also, they said if we did not put the gas in the cost would be around $10 a gallon. I read the 'fine print' and it was $4 a gallon. That is a major discrepancy. Tell people you dont do 2 day local rentals when they call or make a reservation on line. My experience was horrible and ould have been avoided if I had know the new policey that went into effect In April. Great people to work with locally on both ends. The customer service at the 800 number, not so much. My order was canceled and no one asked me about it, or notified me that the company did it. Finally, the last person I talked with got the order put in and all went smoothly from then on. And waiting on hold for over 30 mins is not good customer service.laurel N.

There were many computer problems with rental paperwork. This took forever to complete. Trailer was parked oddly so another vehicle had to be moved so I could pull my rented trailer out of the parking place.Karen H.
Have backup staff available. There was only 1 person and she was swamped and also had to deal with an extremely slow computer which kept locking up on her. However she was professional and calmly did the best she could. Employees like that are hard to find. She deserves being acknowledged.Daniel C.

No one was in the office when we arrived around 10am & the parking log hadn't been cleared yet. The traiier was NOT cleared of snow & ready for us to pick up! The manager, who was NOT scheduled to work, helped shovel the snow away. The location the trailer was parked in had a VERY narrow path to maneuver through, compounded by snow. We spend almost 2 hours at the location from the time we arrived until we were able to drive off the lot!Steve N.
The lot I rented from did not plow the snow out of their lot and upon returning the uHaul it became stuck. I was on the phone with them for at least 30 minutes (after attempting to get the truck out myself for about an hour and a half) trying to convince them to tow the truck out. I was told that I should call a tow truck myself, which is ridiculous given that it was not my mistake that resulted in the truck being stuck. In the end I was not charged for this, but the fact that I was concerned about being charged for this situation is another indication of how poorly this situation was handled by this uHaul location management.Austin H.
The staff was super wonderful. While we were there, he had another customer he was helping, he still acknowledge us and told us he will help us soon. A few phone calls came in and he handle everything very well. Even though it was a busy day, he didn't rush us...or other customer he was helping. This is my first time renting a Uhaul and first time using a hitch trailer. He went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and understood how to use the trailer. The owner was kind of rude actually. He walked in, interupt the conversation, didn't acknowledge any of the customers EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SUPER BUSY IN THERE and treated his staff poorly. I feel bad for the guy working there. He deserves a raise.Beau S.

We reserved 2 moving helpers through the U-Haul website when we reserved the truck. WORST decision ever! First, WE had to reach out to the scheduled movers several times before they responded. THEN we learned that the date that they were scheduled for was wrong...the movers claimed that they'd been scheduled for the next week. As a result, we had to scramble to get our stuff moved, part of which involved changing our plans. The communication between U-Haul and the moving helpers needs to be fixed, and there should be a way to get ahold of the helpers to make concrete plans more than only 1 day in advance of a planned move.Lori W.
Nobody at this location knew how to use a computer. I came to pick up my truck and it took me one hour (I was the only customer there) to get the keys. Then, after saying I would get an extra hour on a 24 hour rental because I spent my afternoon waiting for the truck, they proceeded to charge me for an extra day on the truck (day's rental + insurance that I didn't agree to) when it was a few minutes late (the next rental was not for another two hours and I returned the truck completely clean). They have no respect for customer's time, but when it comes to their time, customers should expect to get charged heavy, unexpected, and unconsented-to fees. And to top it off, when Deb answered the phone she was aggressive from the start and proceeded to threaten me with charging me for 2 days of truck use if the truck wasn't back immediately.brendan J.
After several faux pas on Uhaul's scheduling I ended up at the New Hope Storage. The manager (?) Paula for the place called me and explained she was down an employee (which happens) and that I would be about 2hrs delayed, however, she was absolutely amazing from the moment we first spoke! She was in constant communication through phone calls; she found someone to assist us with the truck and equipment almost immediately; she also had an "experience" with the scheduler/traffic control on my behalf; she dealt with my aggregated level of frustration with this particular transaction with UHaul; and, she even went out of her way in the opposite direction the following day to open the vehicle up so my son could pick up his forgotten phone. All this without even the slightest change in her professional demeanor and tone! It was a stressful weekend due to several time constraints and I appreciate her level of service and professionalism - because it sure as hell made it a lot easier!Edgar O.

Perhaps actually have my truck at the location at which I reserved it. Then I got charged double because I got it back after the allotted time, which was entirely due to having to drive across town to get it once uhaul changed my reservation without my approval. I will NEVER use uhaul again.Alan G.

we as senior citizens were put into what could have been very dangerous situation. our truck was not ready at location we requested. we were supposed to pick it up at 7am to have it ready for move helpers to arrive at 9am. we were informed at 7am that we would have to drive to a different location pick up our truck at 9am, which is the time that our move helpers were supposed to be loading the truck. when we got the truck to our apartment it was 1015am, and the move help only had 45 minutes to load onto truck, leaving two unhealthy people 10 plus hours to finish loading for trip to kansas that was supposed to take place at 9am saturday morning.
