I rented two trucks days apart the first day we got a 26-ft truck that said it had a quarter tank of gas we got 5 mi away and ran out of gas and had to go walk to the gas station to get gas to put in italso I was supposed to pick the truck up at 6:00 a.m. but the app wouldn't work so I had to wait for the people to get there to pick up the truck and then when we returned it the app still wouldn't work so we got charged for not logging the miles on both trucks but the people were very friendly and helpful and I don't blame them fix the appStacey M.

To much money never rent again. Had to do a job and the rental took all the money not even worth doing the work. Had the vehicle five days and paid the price of three times the amount of you were to purchase a new vehicle. I will do everything in my power to have people NOT use the U-Haul system.CHARLES T.

I understand the trucks get scrapped up from people so I think the trucks are well maintained. Keeping records of the damage to the trucks needs to be better so someone doesn't get charged for pre existing damage. I was asked if I wanted the survey sent to email or text I said email and I never got it emailed to do the pictures of the truck. If your not going to do what is asked by sending stuff to the correct place don't ask at all. I'm filing a dispute to be refunded for the damages that were already on the truck.KENNETH W.

The young woman at the counter is rude. This is the second time I have rented equipment at this location, and I will never go there again. Both times I returned after hours, and was unable to check in online. Once due to a U-Haul website glitch; the other time, because I forgot my password. I was charged $20 because they had to check in the first one, which I should have been credited back for. Also, I refueled the truck to the level on the paperwork, but they decided it wasn't right, and charged me over $12 for 2 gal of fuel. The second rental was a flatbed, which was due back the next morning by 8:30. We returned it after hours, and put the rented hitch in the dolly container so it wouldn't get stolen. I forgot to check it back in that night, but didn't worry about it because I had until 8:30 that morning. I tried to do that a little after 7:00 AM, but it had already been checked in, i had been charged the $20, and charged $38 for the hitch. It is my opinion that they should have waited until 8:30 to check it in, and they should have called me regarding where the hitch was. Because the U-Haul customer service line is impossible, with wait times up to an hour, I had to drive 30 miles to the location, and tell them where the hitch had been put, and was credited back the cost, but not the tax amount that was charged. I have rented equipment from U-Haul in Escondido many, many times, and never had any problems of any kind. If I called their direct line, they answered. The Old Town Front Street location did not answer the phone. We have decided to use another location, or Penske, the two more times we will be renting trucks in the next couple of weeks.JANICE B.

I was told on check out that it was okay to bring it back at 3/4 tank the needle was on the lower 7/8. When I brought it back the needle was 3/4 on the plus side. I still got extra charged for 2 gallons, so I'm not too happy about it. ThanksFlavio C.

I am very satified with this location. I am not however satifsiied or impressed with the Uhaul on line reservation service. I originally reserved a trailer for Monday, and when doing so, did not have the chance to choose this location. It wasn't even available. I reserved a trailer at anther location close by (a guaranteed reservation) showed up there and they had no trailers. Period. I called your help line, and while waiting for a call back, went to the Old Town location and they took care of me. When your help line called back, there was no discussion of the guarantee, no I'm sorry, just glad you were taken care of. What happened to the guarantee? I am thankful there was another location close by that was willing and able to take core of my needs.SAMUEL P.

This trailer (6' x 12') did not seem to get the maintanance needed. The inertial brakes didn't work correctly so my tow vehicle's brakes took all the load. Additionally, the floor of the trailer has some weak spots that creak when stepped on. Wonder if the structure is failingEDGAR H.

The equipment and process were generally fine. It was the employees that made the experience unsatisfactory. The two U-Haul employees at this location were unfriendly / borderline rude. They were relatively curt, disinclined to help, and lacked knowledge of services / offerings (e.g., we asked about drop-off options and the employee replied "it doesn't exist," yet it was on the contract paperwork).
