When I placed the order, I ordered a dolly and furniture pads. When we picked the van up at Pats Farms in Merrick, they said that those extra don’t come with this location. They told us we can go to another location to pick it up and since we were loading and leaving almost immediately on our trip, we didn’t have the time. The van was given to us on an empty tank and we had to go to the gas station before we even brought the van home. The interior of the van was dirty, small pieces of debris and dirt and spiders were in the back cargo area and the Van smelled like someone smoked a carton of cigarettes before it was delivered to us. The interior windshield was dirty and hard to see clearly through so we had to clean it before we could take the drive. It was very disappointing, and since we were doing a quick load and leaving for our destination, we didn’t have time to switch to a cleaner, non smelling of tobacco van or pick up furniture pads and dolly from another location. I spoke to a man in Customer Service, he said there was nothing he could do about it and we were free to go to another location to remedy our issues. The key fob also didn’t lock the front doors so we had to use the actual key to lock it up. Very disappointing.

The vehicle should be cleaned and the gas tank full. There was no protocol for the customer to go to to pick up the keys. There was no signage to indicate that U-Haul was available to the customer. To have someone to speak to over the phone to complete. The transaction is not customer service nor that I was given the opportunity on the return of the truck to choose another form of payment since no one who I went to spoke English, nor did I dealt with a decision-maker involving that. I prefer to deal with a U-Haul dealer directly.

I returned my rental on the scheduled day , 2 hrs early and it took 5 days and multiple Calls for the location to check in the truck. I was given a $20 discount as per Adam who is a manager

The truck I had originally rented was not available. So I had to take a van therefore I had to make multiple trips spending more money on the mileage and paying more to the people who were helping me.
