Make sure the stores you allow people to rent from are open. This location was good and the people were nice but UHaul as a company is a joke. I was taken all over Gloucester county to get a truck that wasn't the size I had reserved. I'll never use uhaul again. Management should be ashamed of themselves.Derrik W.

I reserved my pickup in Yorktown Va, And the day before it was changed to Portsmouth, Va. (VERY inconvenient and costly). The next closest place was Gloucester VA. , and it was still costly but more convenient. I was given extra miles, but I had to spend more money in gas. It was also difficult to get people on the phone half the time.. The person at the drop off location said the same thing regarding getting someone on the phoneâ€¦ The truck worked perfectly , but scheduling and customer service was lacking in a big way!William P.

I was using the trailer because i was buying a motorcycle. When i called customer service, i told them i need one that a motorcycle can be loaded on and the lady told me the trailer can be used for that. When i got to the location to pick up the motorcycle I realized it didnt have a ramp. I had to spend more money to buy wood and make a ramp to get my motorcycle on the trailer. This is probably the last time i use uhaul for moving.eddie E.

The folks at Peace frogs were amazing. Above and beyond! I had forgotten my earbud case in the truck, locked it and dropped the keys in the box, after a few calls, someone came in during off hours, unlocked the box and retrieved my earbud case, saving me from having to drive back down from DC to Gloucester to get them on Monday. Long and short, I was screwed, and they unscrewed me. They went out of their way to insure that I didn't have to. I will absolutely use this location again and tell anyone I can how they treated me when I was in need.Ben S.
This is not a registered IUhaul? â€¦â€¦ As a customer making a reservation on line , you expect the equipment to be there. I had to cancel and arrange it a week later there and I couldn't be assured that the truck or car dolly would be there and It was late. The people were great and kind. There was one attendant working alone and she didn't know anything about the car dolly . The rental went well and everything went well. I understand more about pick up location and drop off location. I'm just trying to rent a uhaul. This is however in the middle of a 40 year housing shift and post moratorium Covid time. There might be a uhaul shortage.Kristie G.

After having my pickup location moved to a more inconvenient location for this rental which was the first half of my household move, my rental that was scheduled for this week got moved yet again. This time to a location that had no possibility of working. I would have had to drive well over an hour on a Friday and leave a vehicle to drive out of a major congested city during Friday rush hour back to my house. That would have been a two hour trip in heavy traffic. There were no other options and the customer service rep was absolutely as awful as possible. When it became clear that I was screwed two days out I told her I guess there is no option other than cancelling and changing my move date and taking off work and losing my scheduled help. She hung up on me and cancelled my reservation So I had to scramble and pay over twice as much with Penske. I really appreciate your company screwing me over, treating me like shit snd costing me almost $500 more. Never again will I ever use uhaul and especially to find out at the worst time that a truck may likely become realistically unavailable at the last minute regardless of having made a reservation weeks in advance. By far the worst experience with a company I've possibly ever had and during a time due to Covid that most people are used to being screwed over. Go fuck yourselvesMichael S.

The lady at the front desk (Michelle) was nice enough but had no understanding of the uhaul process. My wife and I asked her to change our drop location to Whitestone, VA as this was significantly closer. She actually changed it to Lexington Park, MD which is on the other end of the Chesapeake bay. We did not know about the change until it was time to drop off the trailer and we drove to Whitestone. Thankfully we called the Lexington Park location and they were incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would never go to the Gloucester (Peace Frog Storage) location again.Patrick G.

When the person from this location called me the night before to tell me where to pick up the truck, they neglected to clarify that the location was 45 minutes away from the previous pick-up location. They were using a headset that was cutting out and it was hard to hear them. I ordered a regular dolly, and appliance dolly, and furniture covers with my truck, none of which were with the truck when I went to pick it up. I had to drive around in the uhaul truck for almost two hours trying to find a location that would give me the equipment I needed to complete my move. I had to reschedule my movers due to this delay, which resulted in additional fees.CHRISTIAN H.

Put a sign on the main building that the key drop is on the mini storage units - not as the instructions say in the front of the office. Could not see the storage units because a truck was in the way and had to call looking for the drop box since it was after 4 pm and the office was closed. All you need to do is put a sign in the window or on the door that says "KEY DROP ON MINI STORAGE BUILDING"KARENKELLY R.

I don't know if the location and reception was the problem or the program but many times when I made an entry the screen return to the first screen. I have had a lot of dropped calls in that area of gloucester. The procedure that should have just taken a few minutes turned out to be very lengthy and frustrating. The van wasn't clean. Although I uploaded pictures of the dirt/debris left by a previous renter upon returning the van I get asked whether the van is clean and ready for a future â€œfamilyâ€. I didn't want to be charged for returning a dirty van so I had swept out the van out before returning but was not going to fully mop out the dirt left by the prior renter. I don't think that if I rent an unclean van that I should have been asked if it was returned clean.DEANNALYNN M.

I requested in person pickup. Upon arrival door was locked. I could see people working inside who ignored my knocking. They wouldn't even come to the window to give me instructions. Just flat out ignored me. I called the U-Haul number in my email and they said I needed to mobile pickup. I explained I was unsure how to do that and preferred an in person. They said they'd send me a video. At this location there is no signal to watch a video. I had to find a signal to complete the transaction. When I got to key pickup, the only direction was â€œmiddle boxâ€. There was no indication where the boxes were. No signs. And of course no one to tell me what â€œmiddle boxâ€ meant. After walking around all business I found 3 unsigned boxes on a separate building from the office. I put in the code and my keys were inside. Then I got in the vehicle and noticed there was barely enough gas to get to my move out destination. All this caused me to be an hour late. Movers were on scene with nothing to move into. Also hung up on twice by customer service. VERY UNHAPPY WITH PICKUP EXPERIENCE.Patrick M.

The location was set well behind the building, so we had to drive around trying to get close to it before the uhaul app would register that we were at the pick-up location then we waiting for 45min for the approval process so we could get the key box code. Then none of the pictures were update of the vehicle to show the damage, so i had to then go around the whole truck taking pictures to record the dispute on the app. The truck also had less than 1/2 a tank of fuel. We picked up the rental van on off hours. It was not very clear where to find the key box. As far as the location and reserving the rental van, everything went smooth. On the other hand, when we picked up the van it took almost a full hour for the authorization to go through. And that's with doing the online registration prior to getting to the van location.troy H.
