Every part of the process was easy from making the reservation online to picking up the truck and returning at the end of the day. I was met by Steve who is very knowledgeable of their rental process, explained everything in detail and got me on my way. Upon my return I was met in the parking lot by one of the employees who with a great big smile stated good afternoon sir I’ll take the keys you don’t have go inside. She also inquired as to how my experience was which I replied great! Thanks TrueValue-U-Haul.

GARRY RI think charging 20 dollars for local is great but the 80 cent per mile is extreme and is misleading...I went from williamsburg to hampton and back and the total trip cost me 98.00 plus 20.00 for fuel so I ended up paying over 118.00 for a local trip that advertised 19.00 local for a van rental..

SHERITA HDon’t let people smoke in the trucks. If they do, change the cabin air filter. Just the hint of pipe smoke made me nauseous for our entire trip.
JOSEPH AThe Ace Hardware location is terrific. The U-Haul online app experience is annoying. Too many incidences of pushing things that I might want to buy, and then there was very small print on how to skip that and get onto the next process. In addition, the encouragement to tell them I only needed it for a few hours is understandable but then I’m stuck for a few hours and the price is the same for 24 hours so in the future, I will always tell them 24 hours But that is on U-Haul not Ace Hardware where I picked up the equipment
RALPH RWould recommend the business but not the vehicle rental vehicle. Ride was bad, every irregularity in the road was felt. Wind noise on both sides of the cab was very loud. Per mile rate of .89 made the rental cost very expensive.
MELODY AThe lady who helped us was thoughtful, knowledgeable and efficient. Everyone at the store were very courteous. My only suggestion on the location is that it was hard to find on GPS for us out of towners. We used Waze and it just had a hard time finding the location.

nga pThe cargo van I received had trash and yard debris in the back which I had to clean out when I got to my destination - luckily they were able to lend me a broom so that the vintage furniture I was picking up didn't get damaged. I also didn't receive the kind of vehicle I requested and was not notified the day before like the UHaul website says I should have. When I asked about UHaul's $50 guarantee the rep I spoke to at the store just gave me a funny look and said nothing like that existed. I'll be going somewhere else next time I need to rent a moving vehicle.

JOSE LEverything went smoothly! I rented a 6x12 trailer, but had to exchange it for a Jumbo Hauler when I realized how much STUFF I needed to move! The transition was effortless.
JOSEPH JSpent too much time at checkout scanning drivers license..’ Active duty military and licensed in another state kept causing issues. Employees unfamiliar with computer system. I was told online pricing was the same as in person location when I called the store to verify. When I arrived it which was much higher and manager wouldn’t honor. This wasn’t a quick and easy process to rent a pickup truck and trailer at this location.

SHANNON RThe customer service was awful, i ordered the uhaul online , the whole thing , I was thinking that I won’t communicate with anyone because online it never said that I’m going to get the keys from someone , it said that I can order the uhaul online and won’t need to see anyone , long story short I went inside asking where the uhaul located ( because I thought there’s some kind of box to get my keys from ) , I got the nastiest attitude from the manager and the lady behind the counter told me if you don’t calm down we would refuse your service , I was like what are talking about , online it never say I have to get the keys from you guys , ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TO EXPLAIN TO ME THAT ITS A MISUNDERSTANDING AND THAT I HAVE TO GET THE KEYS FROM YOU , instead they’re just threatening me that they may refuse my business, terrible customer service and never going back there
Haisam ACustomer service did not see my request for move in equipment (dolly, blankets, etc.) When I went to pick up the keys. I assumed they were already in the truck. Did not have what I needed for the move. When I told the location at drop off, they did not reimburse me for the equipment like they said they would.

ROBIN JThe back of the truck was reasonably clean but the cab had left behind paperwork from at least 3 other people and an empty bottle behind the driver's seat! Maybe just have a glance at the cab. The cup holder in the cab is broken. Not a deal breaker, but might have been nice to have.

ROBERT Hthe drop-off was a completely different experience with excellent customer support and service at Ace Peninsula Hardware in Williamsburg, he actually asked if he could back the trailer in for us since he was experienced in doing that and then took the pads off our hands, wished us a great day and bingo, done. This will be the last U-haul rental for a long time and will not be using the Durham U-haul on durham-chapel hill blvd, nor will i recommend it to friends who are moving into and out of the area.
