Our only complaint was that the truck had not been swept and some of our items got dirty. Additionally, there was some trash in the front of the vehicle. All things were easy to take care of, but it would have been nice if the truck was a little cleaner.

After being given the go around about locations having or not having u-haul trucks available (1 800 Uhaul would either tell us there were no trucks available at a certain location or they would tell us there were ones available, but when we called those locations they gave exact opposite information). We found the Ace Hardware location. The truck they had was bigger than what we needed it for, but it would work. We gave the lady that worked there our information and we (myself and my boyfriend) walked around the truck to note any damages. It took a really long time for the employee to put our information into their system but eventually we had our contract and the keys. We only needed it for a few hours. We returned a few hours later to turn it back in to the same Ace location. When the same lady tried putting it in the system that we were returning it, there were a lot of issues. Apparently the system had my boyfriends name on a completely different truck that was not even at Ace but the paperwork the lady gave us was for the correct one. So this caused her a lot of confusion and she excused herself while she tried to find the manager I guess. She came back quite a while later saying that she was not able to get in contact with anyone but had left messages. She was very apologetic. She could not give us an exact amount for which we owed since the system was still showing that my boyfriend had the other truck out. But she assured us that we would not be charged for any more time because the correct truck was returned. It was all very confusing. Also, when we picked up the truck we started the trip meter to keep track of how many miles we traveled, and its a good thing we did because they did not have the starting millage written down in the paperwork or on their system (actually they had the other trucks millage written down which is not correct information). So we told her how many miles the trip meter said and that is how they judged our rate. I don't know what would have happened if my boyfriend hadn't been smart enough to keep track of it on his own. The truck we rented was dirty (inside and out) when we looked at it. The whole left side of the truck was all scratched up with only a few of u-hauls little "x" marks on them. The inside of the storage part had dirt and a few pieces of trash on the floor. And inside the cab there were cigarette ashes and trash in the ash tray. The whole outside of the truck was covered in dirt and desperately needed to be ran through a car wash. It was difficult for us to determine if scratches were scratches or just dirt lines that looked really bad. When we brought the paperwork back in, noting all the damages we could see, the lady started filling out her part and checked the box that the truck was clean. We stopped her and said we have it written in like 3 places that it is not clean. So she scratched out her check and wrote "not clean" over it. When we brought the truck back, she had to keep going back outs

My associate who helped me was great. I am embarrassed to admit that I am not sure of his name, I think it was Jim (sorry, long day). He was very helpful with a good sense of humor. The truck was comfy with a good ride. It was also very clean and user friendly. My only slight issue would be that the driver's seat was not adjustable. The cab was fairly small depth-wise and my legs are long. It was fine for short use, but I think any long distance would have been a problem since I did not have enough leg room.

The staff in control of scheduling uhaul reservations need organization improvements. (Possibly a dedicated uhaul staff to avoid the wait for uhaul service) Not everyone is on the same page amongst different work shifts. Whomever is responsible for checking equipment when it returns needs to trust but also verify accuracy. uhaul staff could also use periodic system navigation training courses so that everyone's ability to navigate through system is on the same level. Aside these minor issues this uhaul location has great potential in being a high volume station!

When I picked up the equipment, it only had a half tank of gas. This is frustrating, as it is hard to predict how to return the truck with "half a tank of gas." Starting out with a full tank, and returning with a full tank is a lot simpler. When I requested this, the pick up location said they did not have the ability to fill the tank before I took the truck.

Kevin forgot to give me my appliance dolly and regular dolly. It was difficult to get a hold of him to rectify. When I did he extended me the courtesy of extending my return time, and assured me that the clerk would be aware that I was not charged an additional day. Linda, the manager, was there when I returned it at 7:55pm. She was rude from the start, making a negative comment about returning it so close to closing time. She knew nothing about my arrangement with Kevin and then overcharged me for 2 dollys and 5 packing blankets. She told me I'd have to come back for a refund, but finally gave me one when I insisted that I would need it before I left. Horrible customer service. I even witnessed another person arrive directly at 8pm to return another Uhaul and the comment was made between employees but in front of me that it was too bad for them...they'd have to pay for another day since they had already locked the doors. This was a terrible experience at this location.

We reserved a truck with ramp. We confirmed twice. When we picked it up, the check engine light was on, and we couldn't risk driving on I-95 for hours. They charged us more for a small trailer than the truck cost, over $110 more than quoted online for a trailer when we first reserved the truck. Manager unhelpful. We felt ripped off.

I went 51 miles and paid 80 dollars in gas for a local move. During the fillip I noticed the gauge not moving. When I turned it in I told the manager the gauge was broke. He said he could do nothing and a I haul rep would call me. No call!

Renting from U-haul was a nightmare. I used their on-line reservation system to rent an Auto Transport trailer. I entered the information for the truck I would be using, as well as the correct information for the make, model, and year of the vehicle I would be towing. According to U-haul's reservation system, my combination of vehicles would work. We loaded up the family and drove 425 miles to pick up the auto transport trailer. First, the address they gave us was wrong. Next, we had the auto transport trailer attached to our truck when the toothless woman at this U-haul location, told us she couldn't let us use it. She said the vehicle we were going to tow wouldn't fit on this trailer. We were as polite as could be, and explained that we reserved this trailer with the correct information regarding the car we were towing and the U-haul system accepted it. We would not have driven 425 miles, if U-haul had told us we couldn't use this trailer. After several minutes on the phone with customer service, the toothless and unhelpful women told us she was leaving. We asked her if we could get her number so we could come back for the trailer, once we had spoken to someone with authority. She said no. We asked if we could come back on Sunday, once again, the answer was no. Then she asked us to move our truck so she could park a truck in front of the trailer. We spent several more minutes calling every customer service number we could find. Finally, a customer service rep told us we could drive to another location and pick up a tow dollie to use, as long as we disconnected the drive shaft on the vehicle we were towing. It was dangerous to drive that vehicle to a repair shop because it needs a new engine, but we did it because our son was being deployed and we had to take his car home. We finally got the tow dollie from the Ace Hardware location, where the people were professional and helpful. A supposed manager in Phoenix finally called us, after we already went to the additional hassle, his name was Dustin Clark. He offered to give us $50 off the rental for our trouble. He also said, we weren't his first complaint with this issue. He told me to call him Monday morning at 9am, but make sure it was 9am Phoenix time. Certainly, Dustin, whatever I can do to make your life easier. It's no surprise, I called Dustin on Monday, he didn't answer, and he hasn't called me back, yet. Great service there U-haul -- that's sarcasm, your service is lousy.

I am a regular customer who rents trucks multiple tiems a year for my small business. It would be great if we could get an expidited check out! 10 minutes on the phone and 20 minutes in the store is too long to rent a truck for two hours. A retunring cusotmer shoudl be able to do it much easier.
