I made a reservation in February for a April rental 2 days before my departure they called and said they couldn't find a auto trailer anywhere on the west coast. When I arrived at my destination and turned in my vehicle in Las Vegas they had around 10 trailers sitting in there lot. I'm pissed!!!🤬 Don't have someone make a reservation if you can't honor it!!!!!!Darryl M.

I did a late night drop off. It was not very clear where I should leave the truck. Also, I get why you want all those pictures, but could you tell me about them before I get there? I had to re-open the back of the truck (NOT EASY for an old lady) in full dark in a kind of skeezy neighborhood. There was a guy living in his car parked right there, so I was a bit frightened. This picture could have been taken when I finished unloading instead of on the street late at night.Susan C.

The instructions are not clear on where to park. The return instructions said to return by 8am and the office at this location was not open at 8am but was open at 9:30am. It was confusing on where to park and where to leave the truck and the keys.Joshua J.
I booked my U-Haul pick up before a certain location, when I got there they said they did not have a vehicle for me and sent me somewhere else. When I got to the next location, they were closed for three more hours. I called the first location to ask for help and they said the key would be inside the truck. There was no key inside the truck. Also the truck at the second location was parked next to a homeless encampment. I will never be booking a U-Haul again, especially since I ended up having to pay full price. Your no contact/app-based pick-up is a pain in the ass. Took way too long. Asked for multiple contacts in the event that I returned the equipment late. Why? It was just a bullshit way of doing things. I'll not do that again.BRIAN M.

I received the truck with a check engine light on. When I get to the trailer; the employee there tells me it's just the oxygen levels don't worry. That same night it doesn't start up right before the long haul. Someone comes out then hours later more warning lights come on. Had to deviate from route to check tires and everything again.TIFFANY M.

I would suggest a full walkthrough of any equipment rented. I rented a 20' box van. First off when I walked out to drive away the gas cap was off and the fuel tank was empty. The employee told me that gas gets siphoned a lot in the neighborhood that the office was. They told me I would be discounted for putting gas in the truck. I only lived a few blocks from the office, so I went home to load the truck. When I left I went to the nearest gas station less then a half of mile away. Within seconds of refueling the gas was pouring out the bottom of my fully loaded truck. I called the office was given a number to uhaul 24 hour line. They were very helpful and sent a company to fix the cut fuel fill tube. That took over an hour from fuel spill to me pulling around to start filling the tank again. This time it took about 30-45 seconds of pumping gas and I heard and smelled it leaking again. Apparently someone had also drilled a hole in the gas tank to steal the gas. At this point I used napkins and wood slivers to temporarily plug the hole. So after being cover in gas from laying under the truck I used the gas station restroom to cleanup and call your hotline again, the called back the person that helped fix its only minutes before and he said he could not help. The person on hot line called for a tow service ovdr and over then told me she could nothing for me. So I wound up chewing up gum wrapping it around a machine screw and plugging the hole myself,once again covered in gas. The leak stopped and I made it to my destination. The truck was then towed the next morning. I was refunded all rental fees but yet to have been refunded the money I wasted on gas, and the time spent being basicaostranded by your company. All in all I will never use uhaul again.JEFF F.

Clean the inside of the truck. Food inside on floor. Make sure the tires are in working order. Retread came off. Back passenger side â€“ outside tire blew on freeway. Had to pull off with cars running 65/70mph with 6 people off to the side of the road. Had to wait 2.5 hours for assistance. Issues with 1-800 Help line going through AND the GPS locator link did not work on TWO different smart phones. I WANT A FULL REFUND! Lost over 4 hours in move time and wound up moving in the dark. I've rented 3 U-Haul trucks in the past 3 months. This experience awful.Andrea R.
They overcharged us. It took him an hour to get us checked in. We got the truck late due to unexperienced employee. Charged us $.99 even though the contract stated $.89 a mile and added extra miles to truck. Also charged us for a credit card payment up and above what we owed of $18.94. On the phone, the experience was great. The equipment had to be picked up from a different location. My information (including cc) info was submitted in advance). On site at pick up, the woman was warm, friendly, and sympathetic to the situation. (This was our only day for the four of us to empty and clean the apartment of a recently deceased parent.) She said she would use our estimate for miles and charge for 24 hours. We would be charged for overages (understandable) and be credited for the difference if we overestimated miles or returned the unit early. The equipment was clean, but we had a mechanical issue that required we add a few (6) miles, though we still were hours ahead of schedule for the return. We had to wait for the location to open to check it in. This time, the representative was the evil twin. The woman was rude and said that my daughter was lying about getting any credit back. Further, she had no interest in learning any details about the mechanical issue that had us so concerned AT 3 AM. When another customer arrived, she became much more like the first rep, and apologized to my daughter for her (my daughter) tendency to "mis-hear". My daughter may have been heartbroken as she has just lost her dad. She may have been tired, as we had all been up since seven the previous morning. She may have been concerned about the safety of the vehicle. What she isn't, and wasn't at the time, was someone with a "tendency to mis-hear." What does, however, appear to be the case is that U-haul has an employee who has a tendency to be misheard and/or one displaying symptoms of bipolar disorder. We will neither return to U-haul and risk misrepresentation, exposure to rude behavior or insult, nor will we recommend the company (or affiliated storage facilities) to anyone else.alisha P.
