I originally made reservations at the 7th Street location. Upon my arrival, the person supposedly an agent and working on someone else's car, could not locate my information, and had to call someone else offsite. I was informed that my information was not in your system although I had provided a hard copy of the confirmation you sent me. He then requested my personal over the phone of which I did not provide, because there are too many scams and I was not giving my personal information to someone I had not seen. I then proceeded the San Pablo store where the service was exemplary. The clerk at the counter greeted me and my son as she rang up another customer. When asked if there was a U-Haul counter, she acknowledged and called the second clerk to us; who responded in a matter of seconds. The gentleman that assisted us was knowledgeable and had us in and out in no time with exemplary customer service also.

When I arrived to pick up my truck on time at the original location where I had made a reservation, the app wasn't working and the person at the counter couldn't log in to help me. I called the help line, waited, was transferred to three different departments, and eventually was sent to a second location. The second location was able to get me a van, but I was an hour late because of Uhaul's incompetence. Uhaul should refund my payment.

The location did not have the vehicle type I reserved when I showed up to start my reservation. They did not offer any gas or miles or discount as recompense when I asked. The attendant in their vehicle lot was largely unaware when I presented him the contract from the desk specifying the vehicle. I had to point out which. Upon return, despite being active business hours, there was no vehicle lot attendant out there. The rep inside, now attending the grocery counter instead of the U-Haul counter, accepted the vehicle key and put it in a normal, unlocked drawer of the grocery. Neighborhood and street are also way sketchy.

Counter is a little hard to find inside the store, but staff was friendly and van was ready & waiting for me when I got there. More clarification about the equipment return location would also be helpful.

there are a lot of homeless encampments in the area, so its pretty rough, but the people were nice and the experience was pretty seemless and there wasn't any funny business

Truck was not cleaned. It was not swept and had at least six flies in the back. Smelled like trash. I was told it was the only one with enough gas so we didn’t have any other choice. Location is next to a bus stop where a man approached my car and tried to fight my partner for getting out of the car before me. Not a safe location.

Haven’t been told besides miles charge it also has fuel charge, just used for 3hours and charge extremely high. Really bad experience.

Location is in a really horrible and unsafe neighborhood with a bunch of homeless people and tents and trash surrounding it. It's also confusing because it's inside a corner store and there's no signage anywhere outside or inside indicating this is a U-Haul location. Also, the check-out process was confusing and the guy had given me a truck with an empty gas tank. Not sure why a U-Haul truck would be allowed to be returned with an empty gas tank.

I can not say enough nice things about the people who run the u-haul facility at this location. They are so helpful, reserved equipment is always available when you show up, equipment is clean and in perfect working order, and the pick up and drop off is easy breezy. The neighborhood is ROUGH - the facility is not!

The problem was not with the location (though I didn't understand that I had to go into the store so that was confusing) -- the problem was that U-Haul changed my pickup location and I didn't know that it was changed. The first pick up location was more than a mile away from this one and I had no way to get there so I walked, but it was through some really sketchy parts of Oakland and I was a little scared.

No complaints. Excellent customer service. Vehicle was new, clean and well maintained. Parking of my car was allowed within the business’s parking lot. Had one question which I called in about and phone was immediately answered.
