It was convenient from the aspect of reserving a vehicle on-line but because its a combination variety store / location it was very busy when I returned the vehicle and therefore had to wait. Some confusion but it was all good. Maybe an extra employee in the store to handle just rentals at busy time intervals?Charles H.

The truck failed. The battery went dead as I sat in the truck for an hour with the key in the ignition, (in the off position) and the lights turned off. Then the roadside assistance was absolutely terrible. It took 4 hours to get a boost in downtown Toronto (there are thousands of tow trucks in Toronto but U-Haul could not find one for me!!!! Absolutely terrible! I should have been home at 10:30 PM, instead I got home at 3:00 AM I want my money back, please 100% refund my Visa. Ryan W.Ryan W.

This location was great for us. Close to home, and very convenient. The variety of hours was convenient as well (late/weekend) and the staff at the location was very nice. The van we rented, however, was extremely DIRTY when we picked it up. The back was covered in hay, and the van smelled like livestock was transported inside. We didn't expect a moving van to be pristine, however, this was borderline unacceptable. With the exception that really needed the van on this day, we may not have taken it.Amy S.

They tried to over charge me. Also tried to say that I did not return the truck back with the right amount of gas, seeing as I put it right where I got it, furthermore had me wait several times to serve customers that came in after me. I had just moved and needed to return home to finish my children sheds so they could sleep. It took them 45mins to serve me and get the right amount I owed them.Josie M.

Vehicle had a peeling license plate and we had to install the new one ourselves because the operator did not have the tools to put it on. The truck was smaller than promised and we couldn't fit our entire load in. Operator taking calls and customers for convenience store while processing our order so it took a really long time. When I arrived to pick up the trailer the attendant kept allowing other people in front of me in line that were buying convenience store items rather than dealing with me first because I was there first. The trailer was completely covered in snow, stuck in a snow bank and the tongue was frozen to the ground. The uhaul guy gave me a shovel and told me to dig it out while he went back in to cash out store customers. I went back in and told him the crappy plastic shovel he gave me wasn't working. He brought out a bucket of hot water but it didn't free the trailer. He went back in and after about 45 minutes of hard work I finally freed the trailer and hooked it to my truck (something I was told the uhual employee HAD to do). Then I started shovelling out the snow from inside the trailer, there was about 2 feet of solid snow and ice (I have pictures) that was preventing me from using the trailer. Eventually I went to a car wash and spent 15$ in hot water to try to melt the ice but there was still so much!! I then went home and continued shovelling out the trailer!! It took me almost an hour and a half to pick the trailer up and empty all the snow, something that should've been done and ready for when I picked it up! Ridiculous! Then when I went back to drop the trailer off the attendant still let other people buying chips and pop in front of me in line!! WTF! Eventually I explained my frustration in the experience and the guy working there literally didn't care, didn't even let me finish talking he just told me too bad. I asked him for a refund and he told me no chance!! Wtf!! What a terrible experience at this uhaul location! The trailers should be ready to go for the booking time and not require any work from the customer. It took me forever to clear it out and because of that I was an hour and a half late arriving at my destination. And on top of that the guy didn't even care enough to listen to my complaint!! I complained to uhaul themselves who told me an area manager would be in touch but it's been 3 days and no contact has been made!! VERY BAD SERVICE I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO RENT FROM THIS LOCATION BECAUSE OF THEIR POOR SERVICE AND POOR ATTITUDE. Please get in touch with me to rectify this situationChristopher M.

Check the equipment unit before release to customer. The one that i rented was no windshield wash second the gas was below quarter and the cab lights was not working. But the rest are good and fast serviceEduardo C.
Upon picking up the truck I was given zero instruction about what to do when returning it after hours. The driver side door was frozen shut, and I spent the first 20 mins of my rental time trying to get the foot of snow off the windshield. If I had not driven there with my own vehicle and had a snow brush in my car I am not sure what I would have done. It would have been nice to know that before dropping the keys in the after hours box that I would be required to provide information from inside the truck.Richard H.
Vehicle rented was a panel van. This van has been at this location for a while and is 'resident' to this location. However, could someone please provide assistance to this great location? The van has a malfunctioning tire sensor which is permanently illuminated on the dash. I was fine with in on two occasions now, but another renter may not be happy. 🙄DAVID O.

Cabin was filthy, parking break was broken. I didn't need parking break but alarm dinged for duration of my trip. Glad radio worked so I could play it loud enough to drown out the alarm. Also was awesome to open back door to find 2 dollies that really helped! Thanks for the free moving equipment that should just come with it anyways... I reserved 2 doz moving blankets that they said they didn't have when I arrived to pick up. Their signs say "did you know uhaul guarantees the equipment you reserve will be there when and where you schedule it?" Well it wasn't... blatant false advertising. and I was told to go to another location and see if they had any. See IF they had any?! It's moving day I'm stressed out and my schedule is full I don't have time to drive an hour out of my way to see IF another location might have blankets. Movers were going to be at my house in 20 min. Plus I'm in a small town. The closest uhaul was already 20 min away and the next another 30 min away. This is ridiculous.Rachel B.
The online check in didn't work (kept asking for a photo and I would take one and nothing progressed) and when calling customer service they wanted to walk me through online check in again (also stopped at a certain point and wouldn't progress) I eventually just went into the store and reserved the truck though the person right in front of me. Please focus on ensuring fleet availability. We had to make two runs due to U-Haul canceling our original 26' truck and only supplying a 20'. Fairly upsetting. The Fergus location was good but I'll likely think twice before choosing U-Haul again.STEPHEN B.

I was re-routed to pick up a trailer here because there were none at the original location. Staff was friendly, but they had no blankets that I had requested, so I had to go to the other location also to pick up blankets. We noticed a flat tire on the trailer and fouind a nail. We could not get through to talk to someone to get the tire replaced, drove to a UHaul close by, they could not do the work. Roadside assist was slow. Overall this was NOT a good experience.Trish C.

We were very disappointed and frustrated that our equipment wasn't available that we had reserved. We ended up needing to settle with a smaller truck that didn't fit all our stuff. When we got to the pick up location it took almost an hour to get through and get the equipment on an already very busy moving day. Then the truck didn't have break lights and we had to go buy them ourselves. Overall a very negative experience and I won't be using Uhaul ever again.John V.

There was mix up after mix up from my initial booking not being booked as I requested to repeated calls to UHAUL to get things sorted out and then after all this they wanted to charge me for a late return. I would never use this site or even UHAUL again if I could help it. Absolutely terrible even the Guelph location called me to TELL me what vehicle they were giving me a 10 foot van instead of a 26ft truck me I said no they said fine Ill just cancel your booking. I said NO and called UHAUL spoke to Owen. Then the oil light was on in the vehicle. I had to return to Fergus. I had booked months ago to avoid all this. Honestly worst customer service EVER!!!!!D M.

I ordered a truck from a Guelph location and two days later I was told that the pickup location was being moved to 25 minutes away. The truck was old, rundown, and dirty. I was worried the truck would even be able to make the trip with the noises the motor was making. With Covid, you'd think the truck would have been cleaned but it was filthy. The steering wheel dirty. Clearly, no one has cleaned that can in a very long time, let alone yesterday. The equipment I ordered was a dolly and a dozen blankets. Neither was on the truck. I needed both. The furniture I was getting was very heavy and needed protected. The location I was picking up at couldn't help me at all because they were a small variety store. They gave me the phone number for the main Uhaul office and they the guy they said I wasn't charged for the missing items which is moronic at best, because I NEEDED these items for my move. Time was of the essence. His only response was to send me to some other location which would have taken an extra hour of my move time and many extra kms, which I would have to pay for. I ended up having to purchase these moving materials from Home Depot which took time and money. This was completely unacceptable. The customer service was unacceptable. Not having the proper equipment was unacceptable. The functioning condition of the truck was unacceptable. The filthy condition of the truck during a pandemic was unacceptable. I'll never rent from Uhaul again. Enterprise truck rental has never let me down like this and I would've rented there except they were sold out. I think I should be reimbursed for such a terrible moving experience. Your company caused me time, money and stress during an already stressful time.ANNE-MARIE C.

The vehicle would not start on 5 occasions...key wouldn't turn in ignition without jiggling for 25 minutes each time. Oil light stayed on whole trip. Big rip in drivers seat. Newer van that has never seen clean since new! Extream farm animal smell. Seats and interior were covered in animal hair. Fuel tank delivered at 3/4 full. Dash flashed error reading front left tire is low on pressure. & engine oil requires servicing. Service people were oblivious. Had originally booked vehicle for 24 hour period. Returned after first trip. (12:30pm) picked up another rental from different company. Not what I would call a good experience. Had intentions of purchasing a trailer hitch with install for future rentals. Unfortunately this experience has left me wondering if U-Haul is the right company for the job. The truck was available when I needed it which was great as it was a last minute booking. However, it had not been cleaned or sanitized inside from the last client. I found masks, rental agreements and used gloves in the cab itself. The back of the truck had a lot of leaves and other debris as well. I appreciate how accommodating the staff were at the location, but was a little disappointed with the truck itself considering the pandemic we are living in.Michael C.

When picking up, they told me that you should pay 2 days of insurance, then, if you drop off the car in one day, we will return the one-day payment to you. But, while returning, they told me that was wrong and we will not return anything. I think U-haul customer service should be responsible for their agents.Mehdi H.

Listen to the customer. I asked to pay cash. They took my credit card information. They only knew the mileage that was used when I came back. And looked to see if I refuelled. Only then could they give me a total for billing. They accepted my cash payment and also charged me the same amount to my credit card!!! Overall a very frustrating experience! I had the opportunity to use your services twice in the last month or so. Same vehicle and same route and time. The last time I was charged more than $17. Additional gas charge was $8 more the second time. Not sure the reason but it left a bad taste. Happy to discuss if needed.steve L.

Location was average rural uhaul dealer. The truck was not the best I've rented though. The roll up door was very stiff and the top right roller came off. The steering had excessive play for a ford truck of this age. Also had a bad vibration noise at 40mph. RegardsSteven Z.

This is the second time I've rented a van from this location. The service person was nice and the van was clean but when I got in it had only 3/4 of a tank of gas and the right front tire was low on air causing a warning sign to pop up on the dash. I only used the van for an hour and drove maybe 15 km but before bringing it back I thought I'd fill the tank and put air in the front tire. The tank cost $40 to fill and when I mentioned it to the owner, I was told that none of that money would be reimbursed. I won't be renting from there again.Chris B.

We were told at the pick up location after asking and clarifying multiple times that we could drop off our truck at any location we pleased and of we wanted an extra day could not add it at the till there but would have it added at the time of drop of. We used the truck and dropped it off at our location of choice at exsctly 24 hours after pick up and then proceeded to get text messages from another Uhaul dealer who said he was waiting for the truck and another customer had rented it for that time slot. We then also were charged an extra days fee even though we dropped the truck off at exactly 24 hours after use. My experience with u haul has tainted my entire moving experience and has added an immense amount of stress to me and my family who are already dealing with enough stress from a move to a new city, needing to find new jobs etc. I will Not be using u haul ever again for anything and will be sharing my experience with everyone I know as well as online so people are aware of what coykd happen to them. None of this was my fault it was the fault of a clearly untrained representative who misinformed us greatly and because of this we have additional fees and penalties to pay for something we were mis informed about. I sincerely hope this does not happen to any one and hope that u-haul will take accountability for its mistakes and harm causes in this situation.Megan W.

More frequent maintenance on all trucks. The one I rented was a great way to book early spinal surgery. The brakes were too weak, the transmission struggled with gear changes, the suspension felt like concrete slabs, the steering feel was non communicative, & the headlights need upgrading to at least brighter halogen. Suggestion... backup cameras on all vehicles. Or distance sonar...Brent L.
