I rented a U-Haul truck from Quick Stop Deli, 1172 W Main St, Riverhead, NY, and was given a truck with a deflated left tire. A vehicle in that condition should never have been handed over to a customer without the tire being checked and properly inflated. I brought the problem to Alex’s attention. Instead of U-Haul taking responsibility for the condition of the truck, Alex told me that if I took care of filling the tire myself, he would give me a $20 discount. I did exactly what he asked. I took the truck and had the tire filled, relying on his specific promise. The $20 discount was never provided. Since then, I have made numerous calls to Alex, and my calls have gone unanswered. No return call, no explanation, and no attempt to resolve the issue. The $20 isn't the real issue. The issue is the lack of accountability. U-Haul provided me with a truck with a deflated tire, asked me to correct the problem myself, made a specific promise to compensate me, and then failed to honor that promise or even return my calls. That is unacceptable customer service. U-Haul needs to do better.

Location did not have any packing tape for sale. Had to go to Home Depot to buy that. Would be helpful to know that I am going to a location without any U-Haul amenities.
John HIt was a great experience, everyone courtesy and friendly. The process was professional and pleasant.
Judith FEverything good
Enis II made the reservation for one location, and then received an email that the location had changed. When I picked up the truck, it was missing the moving blankets that I had ordered, and while the back of the truck had been swept out, the cab of the truck smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. I wound up having to go to a second location to pick up the moving blankets, and before I got to my destination, the tire pressure light came on. I had to pull over and take the time to put air in the tire, and then shortly after that, an error message showed up on the dashboard that said the tire pressure monitoring system was not working. When I dropped the truck back off, there was nobody at the location that spoke English, and I was unable to explain to them the difficulties I had. I would be very hesitant to use this location again.
