How U-Haul Reviews WorkI rented a U-Haul truck from Quick Stop Deli, 1172 W Main St, Riverhead, NY, and was given a truck with a deflated left tire. A vehicle in that condition should never have been handed over to a customer without the tire being checked and properly inflated. I brought the problem to Alex’s attention. Instead of U-Haul taking responsibility for the condition of the truck, Alex told me that if I took care of filling the tire myself, he would give me a $20 discount. I did exactly what he asked. I took the truck and had the tire filled, relying on his specific promise. The $20 discount was never provided. Since then, I have made numerous calls to Alex, and my calls have gone unanswered. No return call, no explanation, and no attempt to resolve the issue. The $20 isn't the real issue. The issue is the lack of accountability. U-Haul provided me with a truck with a deflated tire, asked me to correct the problem myself, made a specific promise to compensate me, and then failed to honor that promise or even return my calls. That is unacceptable customer service. U-Haul needs to do better.
Michael BLocation did not have any packing tape for sale. Had to go to Home Depot to buy that. Would be helpful to know that I am going to a location without any U-Haul amenities.
