MARC SI came to return my rental and it was closed. I called the number and the guy said to use the remote return. That wasn’t as smooth as the rental check out system. Luckily someone came back to the site and took care of me.

Adam JEsmeralda was awesome. She went above and beyond for me. I showed up without the proper towing equipment as a first time renter of a trailer, and she was patient and helped me understand what I needed to bring to be able to safely tow the trailer I was renting. She then let me reschedule the pickup to have time to bring back the right stuff, basically extending her work shift by TWO hours for me. I can't say enough great things about this location and Esmeralda in specific.

YURII ZOutstanding Customer Service and Professionalism I recently rented a truck from U-Haul in Redwood City and, unfortunately, discovered shortly after pickup that it had been vandalized. I immediately contacted the location, and to my great relief, the staff responded with exceptional efficiency and concern. The manager on duty reassured me that everything would be handled promptly—and it was. They swiftly arranged a replacement vehicle, allowing me to stay on schedule for an important appointment. It's clear that both the management and staff at this location are genuinely committed to customer satisfaction. I highly recommend U-Haul Redwood City for their professionalism, responsiveness, and outstanding service.

KEVIN SRegarding reservation #72377975 at the Redwood City location (1209 Arguello St): I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received from Aileen during my rental experience. The interaction was unnecessarily negative and unwelcoming. I spent approximately 30 minutes with this employee who was consistently rude and unprofessional. The employee's attitude was dismissive and made me feel uncomfortable as a customer. I felt embarrassed by how I was treated and wondered if my gender or the fact that I arrived in a Tesla somehow influenced this negative treatment. Regardless of the reason, this level of customer service is unacceptable. I've used U-Haul services before but would hesitate to return to this specific location due to this experience. While I understand everyone has difficult days, the level of rudeness I encountered went well beyond what should be acceptable for customer-facing employees. I hope management will address this issue to ensure other customers don't have similar negative experiences.

Craig HAlthough the pickup site is tucked behind some buildings, once you find and get into the yard, there are several pieces of equipment - trucks, trailers ec. in a variety of sizes. You have to sign up for the item(s) you need on line, specifying the time you want to pick up. I did that and the trailer I wanted was available and ready to go. I was in and out in about 15 minutes and the same upon return.

Christopher ARick has the most extensive inventory on the peninsula. He very knowledgeable. He always makes sure that all hitches and trailers are installed safely and attached correctly before leaving the premises. The "go-to" rental for all of your trailer needs!

Duane WThe communication before my return was both good and bad. I appreciated the information about the drop-off location, but received conflicting information that included the drop-off location and separate messages that indicated I should drop-off at a different site that was not the originally planned one. The drop-off site was not staffed, and the key drop-off was not apparent at night. It was on the backside of a board that was under a large palm tree and relatively hidden unless you walked up to it and triggered the motion sensor for the light. Because of the conflicting drop-off locations and being unable to initially find the key drop, I called the number on the front side of the board. The U-Haul representative who answered was fairly short and rude with me, and treated me like I was an idiot. I tried to communicate that I wanted to avoid any charges for not returning the vehicle properly. He directed me to the key drop and thanked him, but noted that he was not very polite. I expected the drop-off process to be easier, but ultimately it got done.

Brad CAlso, on my way back to Redwood City, the guy at that location kept texting me asking me when I would be back on Saturday. I said I wasn't sure but my best guess was 4pm. I was a bit delayed and ended up getting there a little after 5pm, and learned that he had left for the day even though the location hours go until 7pm on Saturday. This didn't cause me too much of a problem since I called him and he let me know I could just use the key drop, but there was a different group there that was scheduled to pick up a truck that was very angry that he apparently just left 2 hours before closing time leaving them without a truck that they had reserved. He told them he "had an appointment".

Masa NI dropped this after hours (about 7 pm) and the location was pitch black. I couldn't see anything. No lighting at all. I called the 24-hr number and the guy who answered was not helpful. In addition to the mobile check-in with pictures, he wanted me to text pictures to him. I sent pictures of the unit and first he complained it was facing the wrong way, then he complained that it wasn't pulled in far enough. He was rude and demanding. "MAKE SURE YOU GET IT STRAIGHT BETWEEN THE PARKING LINES!" He called to say that I hadn't returned the trailer light extension (he was correct...it was so dark, I put it in my car by mistake). I sent my wife to return it the next morning and she had to wait in line just to hand him a cable. She described the owner as rude as well. Next time I get a U-Haul I'm going to insist on a different drop-off location. This place was the pits.
Jon MThe drop off experience was not ideal. The owner kept calling when I was driving asking for a specific drop-off time. They had to provide detailed instructions on where and how to park the truck. It was a small lot and we had to wait in the street for others to complete their drop-off. The owner also requested pictures and details outside of what was required in the Uhaul app. This was not a good customer experience.

Immediately contacted customer service and sent them photos etc. Other than that, was able to figure out how to do the mobile pickup.

He is accommodating and flexible to the needs of his clients. We are lucky to have such a professional individual representing the services of Uhaul.

Andrew LThis location did not have anyone there. The owner called me from a different number and did not leave a voicemail so I did not call back. There is also two uhaul drop off locations right next to each other that are easily confused. I would have preferred to drop off at the other one. And will make that recommendation to anyone in my area that needs a U-Haul. The location was a dirty parking lot with not directions, information, or signage to indicate it was different from the other and not an existing of the other. The owner at the other location helped me more than the owner of this one did.

PAUL LThe gentleman checking me out was not very personable and somewhat abrupt. No big deal, just down to business is fine. However, I indicated I would return the trailer by 5pm, and was told to just come back to the same place to the rear of the building. I get there at around 4, and the gates are locked and nobody is around I call and get told I need to download the app and do an online return. Download the stupid app, but there is NOTHING about returning. I call again and get told to just leave the trailer in a parking space. Super inconvenient, sketchy, and bothersome. NOT A FAN

lucca dI booked a 26’ and they didnt have it. I asked for the $50 credit and they got mad, gave me all kinds of attitude and they did not give it to me. I asked them if I can return the truck at night and they told me NO and that they will be open on Sunday at 8:30am. We tried to return Sunday amd theyre closed. I rent a lot from uhaul, you can check my records. This is the worst experience I ever had. I will never rent from this location again!!!
