Minor gripe because I was in a big hurry. Cashier was working on my order, but any time a customer(s) came to the register she would stop working on my order, attend to all the customers and go back to my U-Haul order. I believe the order timed out twice and she needed to start over. I assume this is a store policy, but it was slightly frustrating.

Truck had some mechanical issues, had no gas on pickup and was dirty in the back - mud and screws, some outdoor job prior. But the pickup location is great, there's plenty of space to get in/out and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Rocky's Ace Hardware / U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer was an outstanding place to resnt a U-Haul for the day. The checkout was fast and easy, the customer service was excellent, the truck was clean and ran extremely well, and I was able to use the truck for moving what needed to be moved and then return the truck the same day. I will definitely use this location agian when I need U-Haul services. Thank you!

The van had tree needles in the back and was generally dirty inside. The check engine light and low tire pressure lights were on which was concerning for me to drive. I estimates 30 miles but I guess I went over that because I was charged an extra 2.00 but not given a reason for this.

Easy and quick to get the rental. Just ensure that the checkout receipt is emailed to customer is all I would do to improve. It did not originally send and I had to request, but not a problem.

After completing the rental an agent told me the vehicle would be checked for mileage, gas etc and a final invoice would be emailed. Instead of waiting and double checking, I decided to leave. Upon receiving the invoice, I was charged $57 in additional fuel charges. This was despite my having left more gas in the vehicle than when I began the rental. I called Rocky’s and luckily no one else had rented the vehicle after me so they were able to reinspect the vehicle and see I had in fact left the correct amount of fuel. Now I have to follow up with uhaul to get my money refunded. Yes, uhaul is fine, but please wait and do the inspection with the Rocky’s staff. Come on guys, how hard is it to accurately read a fuel gauge???

Interior cab was filthy. Had 3/8 of gas . Had to go fill before I went to move what I needed truck for. Overcharged me for gas. Didn’t have time to give me receipt when I was finished. I had to call at 5:30 to ask again for receipt. They said I brought back at 2:30 and I brought back at 11:32. Thank goodness I took pictures of gas gauge and mileage because I was overcharged. Called them back at 6:47 pm and they told me there was nothing they could do. So I called U-Haul. Horrible experience.

This van was just OK. The doors on both driver and passenger side didn't shut properly. It was raining the day I used it and the windshield wipers were totally shot. The van had 158K miles and was at its end of life. The steering was loose and the van wandered all over the road on the verge of being dangerous. Also, the rental is $40/day and somehow it cost me $200 after 100 miles of driving. Seems misleading.

My husband and I were very impressed with the young lady who helped us at the counter at Rocky's Ace Hardware in Smithfield. She was attentive, efficient and answered our questions politely and confidently. She was busy, too, but still managed to be professional and helpful.

There was no appliance dolly or moving blankets as requested and charged for. It also took 40 minutes for me to even get to use the truck because of misinformation regarding temporary licenses from moving in from out of state. Also, no receipt of such transaction is on my account or emailed.

The A.C didn’t work. They said the gas gauge was at 5/8 so I filled it up to that point but then they told me I was an eighth short and charged me for it . Why couldn’t I have been given a full tank and then there would be no guessing.

First you sent me to North Providence to pick up my U-Haul that wasn’t there, and didn’t have the equipment. Then you sent me to Greenville to pick up the correct size U-Haul and they also didn’t have any of the equipment. I ordered a furniture dolly over a week before my move. How incompetent is this monopoly ass company. And the gas tank was empty so I had to put gas in and you got to keep the extra gas. 1/10. Wouldn’t recommend. Would rather spend all my money starting a new trucking company to put this shit hole out of business.

The upper "attic" area of the truck was very dirty, with leaves and dirt on it, and the cab was pretty dirty probably from previous users spilling drinks, etc.

Make sure all rental units have all necessary connection wires on each unit. HAVING TO BUY WIRING HARNESS FOR TAIL LIGHTS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!

This was by far my worst experience with UHaul @ Rocky's Ace so far. (I've rented probably a half-dozen times at least) The vehicle (cargo van) wasn't clean inside. Some previous users had hauled mulch and/or plants inside, and there were leaves, dirt, and mulch left inside, especially in the open-frame/wall area by the wheel wells. Someone's water bottle was left in the passenger door. The back doors to the van had no seal, and a new/replacement seal was lying in a heap in the back of the van, like someone meant to install it, but forgot. The edge of the back of the van where the seal belonged was very sticky and left a nasty black reside all over my hands whenever I forgot it was there and touched the edge of the van while loading/unloading the furniture items that I was moving... Fortunately, I rented on a nice dry/sunny day, so I didn't have to deal with the back doors leaking due to no seal being present. Also, there wasn't a drop of windshield washer fluid in the vehicle, so I couldn't clean off the pollen and bug streaks on the windshield... This was all very disappointing, and I didn't find these items until I was at my house with the van. (I did see the seal in the back but didn't realize that one was missing on the doors initially.) Since I had a schedule to keep for the day, I didn't want to lose time by returning to Rocky's and wait for these issues to be corrected. The ~20-year-old at the counter when I returned the van apologized, but wrote nothing down, and didn't make me feel like there would be anything done to take care of these issues now or in the future. Very disappointed with this experience.

I noticed on my final receipt that it showed the truck was returned the morning after I actually dropped it off. This was not a problem for me because it was still within my 3-day window, but could be a problem for other people if it fell outside their allotted rental window. If possible for the staff, the drop-off date and time should be more accurate.

1) the lift door was so badly jammed, it took 3 of us to lift it. And it was then so heavy to try and close that if I did not jump out of the way, it would have killed me. It was literally hundreds of pounds of pressure. We were scared to open and close it and I am experiencing significant back pain as a result of these issues. 2) the driver’s door leaked and the door didn’t close properly. This caused both a safety issue and I was rain soaked that day depending on weather. 3) I expressed these concerns to where I picked up the vehicle and the manager just said I should take it up with someone else. No applogies, no concerns. Just said ‘we’ve never had a problem’ and ‘we have nothing to do with how they’re maintained’. All that being said, I’d like a refund for this rental. I’ve rented multiple times over the last year or so and never had a bad experience like this. In addition to feeling like my life was truly in danger, this was not a good spend of my money. Van was quite new, under 12k miles which was great. Location had no furniture pads, but we were able to work around that, placing boxes between wood items to minimize rubbing during transport. Also, as mentioned to the clerk during the return, the driver's-side windshield wiper wasn't very good. Fortunately, it was only needed briefly during our rental.

I know I should have checked, but the mileage was way off. In the past 7 years I have rented a van to do the exact same run at least 10 times and it is always between 100 and 105 miles. Yesterday the mileage was 170! There is NO way this is accurate. I should have been more diligent when picking up especially when there was so much confusion (3 different people worked on my reservation) that the entire reservation had to be canceled and redone. CHECK YOUR MILEAGE BEFORE LEAVING!!

I was very disappointed when my drop off site was changed. I requested a certain dropoff site for a reason. But uhaul. changed it. I was lucky enough to drop it off where I wanted. The franchise owner had no issue with me dropping it off . Uhaul should just leave the drop off site alone. We are the paying customers. I was also disappointed that I could not pick everything up at one site like the ad said I could. I had to go out of my way to get a trailer.

The inside of the van was filthy smelled like a barn. It seems as if someone transported animals in the van. My husband had to clean it which took him several hours. We where transporting textiles and home furnishings. It wouldn’t have been pleasant to have them absorb any of these odors.

Front tire low pressure lights were both lit up. They only had 40 lb each, and the back 60 ish each. Max PSI is around 80. The truck was extremely dirty, and had an empty champagne can, as well as an empty water bottle behind the seat. I cleaned it out before returning and ALSO I AIRED UP THE TIRES!!! These vans should be READY to go!! This was my second time renting here. Fist time was great. Not this time.

Indicate clearly where the gas tank is located. Once your out of the vehicle and the door is shut it's a little crazy. Maybe a decal on the side ?
