DAVID PThis was by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had with any company. We reserved a U-Haul trailer a month in advance and were specifically told by an employee that the trailer and light connections would be attached to our vehicle when we arrived. We planned our entire trip around that information. When we arrived for pickup, a different employee told us he would not attach the trailer because he had to leave for church. It was approximately 2:30 in the afternoon. Instead of honoring the reservation and doing the job we were told would be done, we were simply sent away. What followed was over three hours of wasted time, unnecessary driving, fuel expenses, phone calls, and stress. We drove to multiple locations trying to find a trailer to purchase because we were left with no other option and were worried our trip would be ruined. We spent money on gas driving all over town because U-Haul employees could not provide a consistent answer or deliver the service that was promised. While at another location, I called U-Haul customer service and was told that attaching the trailer and lights is absolutely something the pickup location should do. I called again and eventually reached a corporate representative who listened to the entire situation. She contacted the original location directly and was told that if we returned, they would take care of it. So we wasted even more time and gas driving back. When we arrived, my husband got out of the vehicle and was immediately met by an employee charging toward him yelling that he was not going to attach the trailer. This happened while I was still on the phone with the corporate representative. We were then yelled at by the employee’s wife as well. Being treated this way after spending hours trying to resolve a problem that U-Haul created is completely unacceptable. After all the arguing, confusion, and wasted time, we eventually left with the trailer, but not without being treated like we were the problem. No customer should ever be yelled at, disrespected, or forced to spend hours driving back and forth because employees refuse to do what was promised when the reservation was made. To make matters worse, I was promised a follow-up call regarding the incident. I did receive a call, but the representative had absolutely no idea what had happened, offered no resolution, and ended the conversation. No one ever called back. The entire experience was unprofessional, disorganized, and disrespectful. We lost hours of our day, spent money on fuel, dealt with unnecessary stress, and were yelled at by U-Haul employees for simply expecting the service we reserved a month in advance. If this is how U-Haul treats paying customers with confirmed reservations, I would strongly advise others to think twice before using this location.

We had to use several personnel trucks when the Uhaul we had reserved would have worked out perfectly. I will never reserve through the website and I advise everyone else to call their location to reserve their Uhaul!!!
