Truck was in stock, but having reserved truck 1.5 months in advance of needing, called day prior to pick-up and was told they weren't sure if it would be there and I may need to go to another location 1 hour away. If a reservation is made well in-advance, there should be no doubt it will be available for pick-up at desired location.JIM F.
I had a terrible experience getting my truck on a Sunday. I did it all online. I got the truck number and the keys from the box. I should say first that I requested a 15' truck initially but was told they would not have one and they would upgrade me to a 26' for the same price. They key I got was for a 26' which was parked between 2 others. When I put the key in the ignition and depressed the brake to start, I got a weird noise and key would not turn. I called UHaul and waited 20 minutes to speak with someone. They told me they did not know what was wrong so put me through to Roadside Assistant. The man I spoke with there was very nice although he said he was not a mechanic and couldn't really help in that way. He told me to go home and he would call me to figure something out. About a half hour later, after he spoke with a mechanic, they realized that I had thr wrong key. They key number I had belonged to a 15' truck. There was a 15' in the lot but I assumed it must have been for another client. The key did work in this truck although I had rented a dolly as well and it was not in the truck. I spoke with a man at this location on Monday and he was confused that I had not taken my key from box 1 and the first truck which he had prepared with a dolly for me. He said that whoever prepared this contract up had messed it up. He apologized and was not sure how it happened. I actually was quite shocked that UHaul had not offered to do something for me given the loss of 4 hours moving time, no dolly and the total inconvenience and frustration of the situation. I think they may have reimbursed me for the 2 day dolly rental but have not actually checked my credit card. This was a terrible experience and I would not recommend anyone to pick up a UHaul after hours at a location. I thought maybe as a gesture for my inconvenience maybe they would just charge for one day rental but no, nothing was done in that respect.Michele M.

After hours experience was horrible...will never recommend to anybody...a nightmare...definitely will write 1 * reviews everywhere I can. Was fully booked 24 hours ahead and toked us almost 2 hours to get the key the next day ....worse exercise ever ...never againSIDNEY HARRIS T.

The alignment was severely misaligned. The vehicle constantly pulled to the side. The "check oil" light came on with a warning that the oil was only at 10%. The staff did not care when I told them - it was the end of their day, so they thanked me for telling them about their negligence and billed me on Monday. The floor heaters did not work - my feet were literally numb for the entire drive. I forgot to mention this at the time as I was pissed off and trying to take the high road. I reserved a vehicle, but still had to call the afternoon before to make sure they didn't rent it to someone else. Embarrassing and dangerous level of service. The alignment being so out of whack could have been disastrous for a less experienced or or less attentive driver. There clearly needs to be a safety review at this establishment. A 10' truck was booked Sept 18 for Oct 25, however 3 days prior, U-Haul notified us that we would be getting a 15'. This longer vehicle posed a parking and manoeuvring problem for us at our residence, causing us to load items using our own dolly and the truck ramp which involved more lifting and lowering and pushing of items which was difficult for us as we are seniors. The original plan had been to back the 10' up to the level deck at the rear of the house. Due to the distances and time involved to drive to other U-Haul centers, going to fetch a 10' truck at another depot was not an option. We also expected either unlimited mileage or at least some grace mileage included since it was a round-trip rental. The speedometer was in miles per hour only, which made keeping to the speed limit a problem (in Canada we go by km per hr) and there was no cruise control. Because the rental company is not open on Saturdays or Sundays, we had to rent on a Friday and return on Monday for a total of $496. Whenwe received the phone call telling us we would be getting the 15' truck, the question was posed "why? as we had seen one sitting on the lot all the previous week?" and we were told, "someone in St. Stephen needed it" ... we thought booking the truck well in advance would have given us priority, but I suppose U-Haul saw it could make more money by renting us the longer truck to go to Sussex, NB and back. Since customer satisfaction doesn't seem to be at the fore front of U-Haul's operation, we were actually surprised you even wanted a review from us ... for all the good it will ever do us, we almost didn't write this review because it is doubtful we will rent again from U-Haul in the future.william V.

The location of the uhaul company was fine, but dealing with the reservation online and by phone was totally ridiculous. It took very close to two hours to finalize my reservation and get the key to the truck. I was told initially that I did not need to create a uhaul account on the website... just to call the number the morning of the move and they would walk me through it. I called the number that morning and was told I needed to create an account. Then it took the two hours to get it finalized. This held up the people helping me load the truck. I even lost one helper due to their available window to help me. I told the person on the phone that I would appreciate a discount for the time I lost. She said a manager would be in touch with me, but one hasn't reached out to me yet. I am not impressed with the uhaul service at all!ELISSA A.

I have to give a shout out to another location.. in Saint John on millidge ave. I tried to rent a trailer but it turned out my hookup wasn't working but the guy there really was helpful in trying to get it to work.. great friendly service for sure.mark C.

The "right equipment guaranteed" is NOT an accurate statement. I ordered a 15' truck because the 10' truck was not available at this location. The day before we were scheduled to pick it up, I was told only 26' trucks were available at this location. This should have been noted when booking the truck, I would have booked elsewhere. Bigger truck, bigger gas bill, truck was only half full, floor only, nothing stacked. I was assured that the mileage was plenty from start to finish including the return location. It was not. This was a move only in Canada of 1 senior citizen. Mileage was through the US and not Canada and they charged the senior more mileage. Public, find another company to use, there is more than just U-Haul out there.Heather R.

The process of picking up and returning was excellent as well as the representative, however the trailer leaked through the roof and the point of the trailer was to both transport and store antiques out of the elements. Very disappointed that I wasn't made aware of the leaking roof. Had it not poured Sunday morning for 5 hours this would not have been an issue- however it did and it was. Everything else was A-1 and would be deserving of a higher rating - however a leaking roof is a big deal for a moving trailer.COLBY B.
