Truck needs to be cleaned better between rentals - check the condition of the cupholder on this truck as an example. The cabin smelled of smoke / weed? When truck accelerated seemed to be struggling and not shifting properly. Using online rental is fine prior to rental but when at the counter entire rest of the process should be handled by an employee. The person at the counter for this rental was most helpful in this regard and I would not have been able to complete the rental process without him as my phone was not working to do so.

Thakur SI experienced an issue with the ignition of a 26' truck when I stopped at a gas station on the way back to the drop-off location. I’ve been waiting for over an hour for U-Haul Roadside Assistance to arrive and boost the battery. In my opinion, the truck should be properly checked and maintained before being rented to customers, as issues like this can severely impact moving plans and arrangements.

Feilong ZI made my reservation on Saturday, November 2 for a 15' truck through the U-Haul 24/7 truckshare program. I deliberately selected my pick-up location at 2300 John St, Unit 5, in Thornhill, Ontario, as this was only 1.5 kms from my house and less than 2 kms from the place where I was going to pick up the cargo. This was done deliberately to minimize fuel consumption both my for my own vehicle getting to the U-Haul location, as well as fuel consumption and mileage for the U-Haul truck. I have rented trucks through the Truckshare program before and they have always been successful. On Sunday, November 3, I received a call from a U-Haul representative advising me there were no trucks available at my location and I was told the closest possible location was at 100 Steeles Avenue West in Vaughan. This is about 10 kms from my residence, and in the OPPOSITE direction of where I needed to go to pick up and drop off my cargo. While this was far from ideal, I tried to be reasonable about this and agreed to the change and asked the U-Haul representative to check and confirm that I can still use the mobile check-in at the new location, since I needed the truck at 7:30am and was on a time limit. The representative confirmed that I could do the mobile check in. When I arrived at the new location at 100 Steeles Avenue West in Vaughan at 7:25am, my app said I had to call U-Haul. I spoke with a new representative who advised me that mobile check in was not possible at this location, despite what the previous representative had confirmed, and that I would have to wait until 9:00 am to check in. This was not acceptable as I was on a tight timeline and getting the truck after 8:30am would have meant significant traffic delays. The representative then re-routed me yet to a THIRD pick up location, at 8635 Keele Street, Unit 1 in Concord. This location was ANOTHER 10 kms away, bringing my total driving from my residence to 20 kms, just to pick up the truck, that was supposed to originally be a 3 minute ride away from me. By the time I arrived at the third pick up location and was able to retrieve the truck, it was already 8:30am. That meant I was late to picking up my cargo and set the remainder of my day to be significantly delayed, due to very significant traffic (which i was planning to avoid by picking up my truck at 7:30am promptly and at a spot that would have minimized the amount of driving in the truck) Not only was I delayed and had to reschedule several parts of my day because of this, but I had to drive about 20 km each way (40km total) in my own vehicle to get to the truck, instead of the original 1.5kms planned, AS WELL AS, driving that same distance in the truck back to the spot where I picked up my cargo, when I had originally deliberately selected a truck pick up location as close as possible to the cargo pick up spot, so I wouldn't have to drive far.

Muhammad AWhen we originally placed our order we were reassigned a different larger truck. We could not use a larger truck due to road restrictions. We called the local dealer (originally in Brampton) and they were very poor to respond. We were placed on hold for 50 minutes! Only to learn that there were no smaller trucks and that we were to contact U-Haul corporate. This was less than 24 hours before our journey with several key logistics aligned and setup. Very frustrating experience. However, we reached out to corporate and Kylie was wonderful. Very prompt, understanding and supportive. We understood our options for a 2-way trip which would allow us to take a 15 foot (not a 20 foot) truck. From this point on the experience with U-Haul was very good. However, the Brampton (East Mall) location requires attention as they clearly do not understand or care about customer service.
MICHAEL LWhen I went to pick up the truck I rented for towing - they had no slider/ball. Lucky I brought my own. If you rent here ask many questions and assume nothing.
FRANCO PThe equipment was in working order but it was full of cigarette smoke and had a lot of trash from the previous customer when we picked it up. It had very obviously just been smoked in. Everything we moved in the van now smells like smoke. Also the van had a warning to change the oil which was a bit concerning but everything went well overall.
TYLER KThe person in charge at the location was very nice and very helpful, however the car that I got was not good at all, Driving the car was not smooth, seemed like it has an issue in the suspension or the motor. sometime it made very loud motor noise without even touching the gas, I was a bit scared it will break while driving as slow as I could. Even the cabin had broken things like the cup holders.

HOLLY SThe truck wasn't clean at all. I had booked a furniture dolly with the truck using the U-haul customer rep and also online days in advance. Despite that, no dollies were available at the location. It's almost impossible to manage at the last moment. What's the purpose of booking something that's not at the location.

MARTIN WPlease make sure when you are making the reservation that you explain what to do if the location is closed. I had no idea what to do and spent 1/2 hour trying to get a code for the lock box. Luckily for me the owner of the Rust Check happened to be there even though his store was closed and he came out to help me.
Katarina SEverything else was ok aside of getting extra one week charge I picked up a cargo van on 26 for July 2024 and returned it on 31s of August as they told me to bring it back on that day to.avoid extra charges which I did , but I got charged for one month and 2 weeks instead of one month and 1 week so this was really something I was nit expecting. Hopefully youguys review my bill and correct this to keep our business relationships healthy. I shall be thankful to you for this. Best regards Muhammad saifi

ADAM SUpon picking up the van, the employee at the location conducted an inspection. The vehicle's cab contained grass and other debris, which I assumed was noted by the employee. Despite this, after using the van and returning it, I was subsequently charged a cleaning fee. It is the company's responsibility to ensure that vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed before being rented out to customers. We had to sweep the cargo area twice before loading our items due to excessive dust, which indicates inadequate cleaning prior to our rental. The current charges for dirt allegedly left behind are unjustified, as the initial state of the van was not properly documented or addressed by the company. Additionally, the cab's cleanliness was substandard, and the air conditioning performance was unsatisfactory. I request a review and reconsideration of the cleaning fee, given that the vehicle was not provided in an acceptable condition and the necessary pre-rental cleaning protocols were evidently not followed.

JOSEPH AThis location charged me for extra mileage on July 14 , 2024. I had to call few times to get that fixed. Today they charged me extra $130 for lost pads or missing items which I didn’t have. Again I had to call them and request them to fix it. Both cases they said they would fix it and refund me. But I have to wait and see my credit card for the transaction to make sure I have the refund. Asking the management to take action on this matter.
XAVIER MThe mileage out was recorded wrong on the billing. Charged me for extra 59 miles. I have given the proof to the attendant and hope to resolve the issue soon.
XAVIER MTerrible service! I rented a truck and agreed to pay $40 plus 89 cents per km. The truck had miles. The calculation was 1.75 km per mile. In what universe? I ended up paying more than a dollar per km not as agreed. The store owner couldn’t care less, kicked me out of the store , said the receipt is in email and if i had problems call uhaul. This is not acceptable behaviour and even though it’s only few dollars extra, the principle is what matters. If you say one thing and charge another it’s called stealing. So I do not recommend this location at all and won’t come back
DANIEL FThe truck was clean but had some issues with the transmission. Braking and Acceleration were not smooth with quick gear changes and got a lot of engine noise when doing that.
