This is a muffler shop where there was nobody working there that could help with the U-Haul rental. I had made the reservation and online and did the check in online. The man worked mg there put me on speakerphone To a woman that I guess was his wife. She very slowly handled the transaction by phone which meant that I had to give out my credit card including security code with five people standing around hearing it This is a muffler shop where there was nobody working there that could help with the U-Haul rental, even though I had made the reservation and on the check in online. It took 40 minutes to get the transaction completed and tye two guys that helped put the trailer on the car acted like they were doing me a great favor to perform work that was a part of their job. You really need to find better rental locations in Sumter South Carolina. My previous experience at one of your other Sumter locations was also very poor. By contrast, the U-Haul location in Florence, South Carolina on N. Irby St. is very professional and efficient.Raymond R.

The equipment I reserved wasn't located at the U-haul location I preferred, and this particular dealer had the equipment I required. The location was further away from my house and wasn't my first choice however, I needed the equipment. The location and staff were professional.John A.
Told to be there a day early and at 1630 due to the store being closed on the original day I wanted to pick up the trailer. I arrived at 1620 and was told the owner stepped out and would be back in 5 mins. The owner finally showed up at 1705. When I asked him to fix the number of days I needed the trailer plus if I was still getting a free day he said he didn't know anything about the free day and that I can keep the trailer as long as I wanted and to just turn it in when I was finished. I received a truck that was almost empty on gas. I received a $40 discount from U-Haul, but it cost me $75 effing dollars to fill it up initially. Then, I had to put another $25 in to just top it off before returning the truck. There was no dolly provided. I told them I did not know how to hook up the trailer to the truck. They hooked it up. When I got home and drove the car on, it popped up. Seems it wasn't locked down. I drove it 6 miles just sitting on the ball-joint! I had a friend help me and we locked it down good for my drive to Tampa!ROBERT B.

The equipment that we reserved was not available, so we basically drove an extra 15 miles to pick up a truck that I could have gotten 5 miles from my house. This location has terrible customer service, calling for information was a joke and the location is run down and not pleasant. The truck bed was wet and we had to find something to dry it with before we could start loading. I would not recommend this location.Rebecca V.

The staff at S&S (owner plus one other person) were very friendly and helpful in getting everything hooked up and my car on the dolly. The location itself was very convenient as I was planning to get onto I-95 and head north. The physical connection was very secure and stayed that way throughout the trip and everything (e.g., lights) worked properly. I think the name of the road may have changed or maybe it now goes by a route number. I was a bit unsure I was approaching the correct spot until I saw U-Haul equipment in the yard.Ken B.

The rental agent was very friendly and personable, but was late arriving at the office and took almost an hour to get the computer booted up and the rental completed, even though I checked in online beforehand. That was frustrating to me, as I was on a schedule to get moved. I do appreciate her friendly service, however.ALISON H.

After returning the truck to S&S Muffler Shop in Sumter, SC, your U-Haul representative noted that I had not left enough gas in the tank. I had to show him where the gas gauge was located presenting the tank was over 1/4 tank, more than required. Why would someone in this business demonstrate that the customer should pay more?
