Do not rent vehicles out that has a blown tire and one that's very low on air. It's a safety issue. When driving from Santa Maria we got pulled by a police offer in Barstow letting us know that we had a blown tire on the inside passenger side. As well as the other side but that one was just low on air. We had terrible gas mileage because of this issue but the safety was more concerning.Chris P.

Vehicle was leaking gasoline. When parked, there was always a wet (gasoline) spot beneath the fuel tank and a drop hanging on the bottom of the gas tank. With gas over $6/gal., that's as troubling as the environmental and safety hazards posed. Also, the "check engine light" was on the entire time I was using the truck, making me think I might end up on the side of the highway at any moment. Neither of these things built my confidence in U-Haul.Walter C.

The truck had 3/4 tank of gas ,which I took a picture of including mileage. The truck was covered in dirt , had to wash all the Windows before pulling out of the rental yard. The check engine light was on. Brought up both of these concerns to the rental yard with a basic shrug of their shoulders . Drove the truck 13 miles, put gas in it. Which was a bit more gas than it started with . When I checked my invoice i was charged for gas . Now I have to take my time & my gas to drive to the rental yard & dispute charges. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience. Will definitely not recommend this rental yard that does not take pride in their business.GARY C.

when returning the trailer it was a bit difficult to back it into the parking spot, due to obstacles in the way (a pickup truck along the north row of bays and uhaul trucks on the corner)William G.
The windshield had probably 2 layers of dirt and dust caked on it - I could barely see out of it and had to improvise to clean an area to see out of by hand because I did not trust that I could use the windshield wipers and not make it worse; the front passenger tire was low when I picked up the truck and the slow leak got worse while driving so after the truck was loaded I had to call a towing service to put air in the tire and while I was driving back to the Uhaul yard to dropoff, the check engine light came on. So aside from the truck being ABSOLUTELY FILTHY INSIDE AND OUT, which says A LOT about the company, it was FAR from "well maintained" and THAT is why I won't use or recommend Uhaul again.tracey T.

We ordered a trailer to pick up in Agoura Hills CA, not 120 miles away in Santa MariaAlex C.
This location closes at 3:00 but worked with my brother for a late drop off and just told him where to park and drop the keys. I would just say that maybe that information should be known because it was really convenient but people might not want to use this location without knowing that because 3 is pretty early to close.Darrin K.

Give the customer a written, signed contract, forget the phone image contract, when you need to show the cop your contract, that's when you have no phone signal. When I discovered an error on my electronic contract, no one would fix it. I had bought extra days that did not get put on my contract... that is the contract I did not receive from the dealer. UHaul started calling for their truck 2days early. I cancelled the remainder of my hotel, and finished my job early to accommodate them. The UHaul assistance lady would call me and her phone number was assigned to a Los Angeles elevator company so I would not return the calls, I did not know it was really UHaul. Something is wrong there. She might have been calling from her other employer's phone.Patrick B.

I chose the Mobil pickup and drop off option. Definitely not what I expected! No cell reception for AT&T at location and needed to drive down the block to login. Once I was logged in I still had to get the keys from inside the store. I was expecting to enter a code on a lockbox location on the truck rental. When I returned the truck I took pictures of the fuel and mileage so I could upload them when I closed out the rental. No option on Uhaul app to upload pictures of truck. I couldn't return the truck through the app and the store was closed at the time. I resorted to calling customer service and waited on hold for 20 minutes before I could let someone know the truck was returned before the end of my contract. Mobile pickup and drop off option needs serious improvements!Emmett W.
Rental truck was in Empty when I picked it up. I was given a $28 credit if I returned the truck at a qtr tank, which I did. Problem is I spent nearly $40 to get to a qtr tank, more than what I should have. Location didn't have any of the equipment I was supposed to get so I had to go To a second location using more gas. Lights were checked by U-haul Management on pickup, told us it was working, checked one hour later after store had closed for weekend and lights were not working. Notified dealer upon return in Southern California, hopefully no one had the same problem. No fun driving LA freeways without all lights, and turning signals working.Melissa M.

I was told to pick up my trailer at this location on Sunday at 9:00am however they are closed on Sundays!!! Fortunately the owners live on the property and after 30 minutes they were able to get our trailer rented.GARY M.

The location was hard to find. The representative poorly guided me to parking the truck in a specific space that she wanted, not what was most convenient for me, because she said "she couldn't drive those things well." Any U-Haul employee should be able to. Furthermore, she overcharged me for gas reporting that it was at half a tank, when it was at 3/4 of a tank. I feel ripped off!
