U-Haul was very dirty and had roaches. That we did not notice until we unloaded. Some of our things had roaches in them and will likely have to deal with them. Would not be returning to this location.

I cannot recommend this location. I reserved a 26' truck online, but when I arrived, I was told none were available and was redirected to Savannah. I was then offered a 20' truck with a faulty ignition, and finally a 15' truck—the smallest size. Despite all of this, I was still charged the full price for a 26' truck with no adjustment. Very disappointing and unprofessional.
Jennifer RI will never rent from U-Haul again, nor will I recommend that anyone else do so. My original pick-up location was on Industrial Drive in Savannah, a 10-minute rideshare from my residence. When I called to verify, I was told that no trucks were available, despite having a reservation for several weeks. After calling corporate, a truck was found at the above location, a 45-minute drive away. The Richmond Hill location is a gas station with a large parking lot. They had no boxes or packing material. The truck had no navigation system (unlike Home Depot, for example) nor any convenient means to connect a phone to the AM/FM radio. The AUX jack (and sticker) meant a trip to Walmart to wrangle an AUX-to-USB-C cord. An added bonus of this rig is that while my phone could connect to the truck's sound system, the AUX port didn't charge the device. My rental wasn't a cross-town move, but a 1000-mile journey from Savannah, GA to NYC. U-Haul can equip its trucks with whatever luxuries they wish, but informing the customer ahead of time would be a good tactical business decision going forward. But it gets better... Before arriving in NYC, I called the company to verify my drop-off location. When the truck was reserved, return was in Chelsea, a few blocks from my NYC apt. The operator helpfully informed me that no Manhattan location accepted trucks and that I would have to drive to Brooklyn (after 1000 miles on the road) thru heavy traffic to return with a financial penalty. So on to an Outer Borough I went. Upon arriving, I fired up the U-Haul app to complete after hours my return, only to discover that the location I'd been told WAS accepting trucks (26 South 6th Street in Williamsburg) wasn't in the app. More phone calls, and the operator suggested I drive to another part of Brooklyn to return the truck. I refused. The operator took my complaint and was very helpful, which is the only positive thing I can say about U-Haul employees. To reiterate: Never will I ever rent a U-Haul truck again and I will strongly encourage anyone and everyone to find another trucking company.

At some point, someone needs to fork over the money to fill the tank, picking it up at barely 1/4 tank is unacceptable in my opinion, it should be topped off and ready to go for the next customer. The app gave me numerous issues and was not helpful in either picking up or returning the truck.

I have a reservation scheduled for over 2 weeks at this location and when I went to pick up the truck, U-Haul moved myreservation to another city over 30 miles away with no notification. Thankfully they had a van that was available. U-Haul should not be changing reservations without notifying people. I would not have been able to pick up the truck where they transferred it to. Very disappointed

However when I went to take pictures of the truck and leave a homeless person about scared me to death was in the back of the truck. the truck (back inside) had trash and smelled horrible.

SHANNON AOne issue with the truck design- I rented the 26 foot truck, and the ramp was way too short. Absolutely too steep for loading the types of things one would need this truck size for (washer, dryer, fridge). The incline is dangerous for moving things of this nature.

Robert MI returned the vehicle a day early and just received a bill for an extra day. The person that I returned the keys to at the Shell gas station (there is no real rerun location for the vehicles it is literally in the gas station with no signage or indication that this is a U-Haul branded location - only had trucks along side of the gas station) did not provide a receipt and was extremely rude and unhelpful. I rushed my unpack and ran the truck back a day early and it is very disappointing to have this kind of service. I had to take a Lyft to get home so I do have proof of my return. I did call the 1-800 number and the woman that helped me was excellent and hopefully can help to reverse the charge. What started as a great experience ended very badly.
DAVID RHe should be 5001 closed or needs redirection if remaining open. By the way, he intended on keeping my appliance dolly inadvertently left in the truck and removed a large portion of the blankets and denied it. I have pictures

Tywana MCustomer service, engagement, and professional communication needs to improve for this location. Would not recommend. All in charge acted if we were bothering them, asked for multiple forms of ID when it was not requested anywhere else, stated inventory was not available when it actually was, and was not supportive when I had questions about check in/check out process. Again would not recommend. Customer service and patience is the back bone of a great business and I did not receive either.

DAVID RThe 20’ UHaul truck that I received was a junker. The truck was old (which is not a problem) but it has not been well maintained which is a problem. The drivers side door has to be slammed to close it. The vehicle has been exposed to a salt water environment and has heavy rust on the truck in multiple locations. The rear door is starting to separate at the gasket that seals the door. The truck guzzles fuel. I rented a newer 26’ft truck yesterday it got much better mileage. The interior dome light doesn’t work. The 12v charging receptacles are worn out. The trucks has heavy damage from years of use. The truck needs to be salvaged. During my use the check light also came on. I reported this to the rental customer service. The vehicle was dirty inside the cab and I had to sweep out the rear of the vehicle before I could use it. .
Alvin LBeware this location will charge you for fees that are unfounded. As owner of a moving company we rent Uhauls frequently and have done so for years. This is the only location we have ever encountered that charged us $20 for an "after hours service fee." Interesting seeing we returned the truck in the middle of the day, one day early, and they are a 24hr. return location?! Hmmmmm how does that work? Obviusly this is some slick move by local uhaul guy at this location. I called the Uhaul national line and and a kind professional rep Larissa immediately refunded the charge, and was also baffled by the $20 charge, and agreed it was unfounded and incorrect. I would avoid this location as I am not the first person this location has done this to. Read reviews.
MICKEY MHave someone available that can provide answers. We were charged for fuel although we clearly had fueled the vehicle back up and showed the attendant proof. The online app was of no use and we had to call the 1-800 number to get a love person to help because the drop off dealer was of no use. Absolutely pathetic customer service and we will NEVER used this location again. To say we were disappointed and upset is an understatement.

I would have appreciated a call in advance to allow us to make other plans. There were also a lot of homeless people in the lot… so I felt uneasy returning a truck at night.

Orlando BOutside of some remnants of other renters the u-haul was pretty clean. I appreciated the modern more up to date unit I was able to drive. The loaner representative was friendly though I recommend maybe having someone else with him since it’s two businesses in one to prevent a renter finishing the initial transaction from slow down others trying to get in and out of the gas station and causing additional wait time. It would also be less stress on him as well. Pretty nice location!!
