Drop off went better but it was not clear on what to do to return.

I did an after hours return and did not interact with the gas station staff. More signs about where to park would have been helpful.

When I went to pick up the 10ft box truck rental the previous user had not returned it yet. When the location worker got on the phone with customer service the nearest available truck was 30 miles away, which I feel was not true because there are 2 other U Haul establishments in town. After all this we were put 1 hour behind schedule. The previous user still hadn't returned the truck, so I decided to downgrade to a 5x8 trailer that was sitting on the lot, and tow it with my vehicle. I went online with the U Haul app and there was no trailer available at my location even though I was standing right in front of it, and there were no reservations for it. The worker was finally able to rent it to me by initiating it himself. Once the process was set up it went fairly smooth, but by then we were nearly 2 hours behind and had to make several trips. To top it off, the previous user pulled up with the truck I had initially rented as I was pulling away with the trailer.

Update from previous posting. They did correct the mileage over charge. The equipment was older model trucks but they ran and I would use them again for a local move
