Warn them of how expensive it will be with all the additional charges.
Tyler WI got to the location and the lockbox would not work for 45 minutes. I was trying to unlock it with the right code and the customer support was not very helpful saying I was a girl with long nails and was short and that’s why I couldn’t open the lockbox I had to have a friend come and she tried for another 20 minutes until we finally got it open.
Kasey JWhen I booked the reservation over the phone I said I didn't want anything extra as far as dolly, pads, insurance, etc. When I arrived at Ship N Go Inc the three ladies were very nice with one of them being trained to complete U-Haul transactions on the computer with the experienced woman standing beside her. I told her that I didn't need any pads or dolly. Then new woman asked about Safe Move and I asked what was that and the woman training her said, "don't worry about it." The manager/owner needed to come over and help at the end of the transaction and when he asked if I had been given the pads and dolly I told him that I had already declined and didn't need them. He said he made the price adjustment and I asked for a printout of the new receipt but he said something was going on with U-Haul's system and he couldn't. Then the new girl was sent out by herself to go over the instructions on the U-Haul with me. But she was in the driver's seat and couldn't figure out how to unlock the emergency brake. So after watching her for a couple of minutes from the passenger seat she went and got the manager/owner to come out and he unlocked the emergency brake and pulled the U-Haul out of the parking spot. I wasn't given instructions on making sure the amount of gas listed on the printout sheet from inside the office actually matched what amount was in there. My advice is to make sure the gas is completely full for each customer. That way it's not a guessing game when filling up and there wouldn't be discrepancies on how much gas was in there in the first place. When I returned there was no check-in going over the vehicle or confirming gas readings and when I asked for a receipt was told it would be emailed to me. So I was shocked when I received the email an hour later to see the final total was more than $22 than expected on my 10 foot retail . I put in over 3 gallons of gas before I returned it, and there was a $15 Move Safe charge (the one I was told, "not to worry about") and an additional 2 gallons gas charge of $7.88. There were only a few items moved with the heaviest item being a dresser because I was moving my son out of his dorm. I drove 25 miles with 12.5 miles of the truck being empty so with that math I got 5 mpg. According to Gemini, a ten foot truck should get 12 mpg. Again, just to be safe I put over 3 gallons in before returning only to be charged an additional 2 gallons. I immediately called Ship N Go to clear up the Move Safe charge and discuss the extra gas charge. I spoke with Nicole who said she would have the manager/owner call me back. That was on Monday and today is Thursday and I assume he has no intention on calling me back. I would not recommend this place to anyone because they are not transparent and seem to be very shady about their business dealings. Their approach to business is very short sighted and because U-Haul is a small part of their business they are not really interested in keeping those customers happy because people only rent a U-Haul every so often. After this experience, I definitely will be looking into using Budget Truck or Home Depot in the future.
Wendy FI want to say that I was very disappointed and frustrated with the first place reserved the truck on Alico. When I got there, they didn't have a truck for me. The rep called Uhaul and was able find this another location at 16295 S Tamiami Trl, Fort Myers Fl, that had a truck avialable. I think that if you don't have truck available, they should call at least 24hrs before so I can communicate with Uhaul and find another location that has the truck. I came from Citrus County (3.5 hrs) to make a pick up and it would of been a disaster if the truck wouldn't of been avialable. The place at 16295 S Tamiami Trl was very nice and great customer service. Thank you!
SEVERO BI received excellent service from Nicole. The van was clean and ready to go. The team at Ship N Go does an amazing job. The pickup and dropoff was quick and friendly. I'll be back!
