Equipment was broken. U-haul should have known that when they dropped off the equipment to the pickup location. Check your tow dolly strap lengths to make sure they weren’t cut by someone else prior to you renting a tow dolly. If I didn’t have my own straps I would not have been able to tow the vehicle. Disastrous rental from U-haul. No problem with the pick up location. It’s not their fault.

LARRY LEWISThis was the worst experience we have ever had renting a uhaul. We were scheduled for one time and then bumped to a later time without notification. The person at the location where we picked up the rental was incompetent and slow. We waited almost the amount of time to get a solution as the time we were inadvertently changed to without our notification. We had movers scheduled to help us move and had to pay them $500 more to stay to complete the move, which we would not have been able to do on our own, as we have a newborn baby. I would not recommend uhaul ever again.

He expedites the process and hooked up the trailer - but NO short cuts in safety - he double checked the hitch connections and lights. Great experience and excellent uhaul retail outlet.

It was the first time that i could tell the trailer had been serviced in between rentals. there was even fresh grease in the ball hitch receptacle which i had NEVER seen before in the 100+ rentals ive done with uhaul

Matt TruettThe auto transport trailer I rented had a broken strap that goes over the car tire to hold it down. The portion of the strap that tightens down had been broken and wasn't long enough to secure the tire. I ended up attaching one of my smaller straps to the intact strapping and that worked. I didn't realize when I rented the trailer that the strap was too short, but pointed it out to the attendant when I returned the trailer. Other than this one item, the trailer was great and I will very likely rent one like it again at this location if I have the need.
JAMES MIDYETTEThe people here were fine. My issue is I had to travel 30 miles away from my home to drop off my trailer when there was a uhaul 3 minutes from my home. Further more the first place they told me to drop off my trailer didn’t have a contract with UHaul. I spent $500 and I am very disappointed in how Uhaul treated me and my situation.

David PhippsI gave this location a great rating because of the staff there, but my reservation was supposed to be picking up a vehicle in my city, and this location was 35-40 minutes away from where I was. The extra cost in gas on top of the time it took to go all that way to pick up the truck and come back. I only had a few hours notice to rework my plan. This was not fair by UHaul, and ended up costing me more because of their location change last minute.

John MinchewI reserved a 15' foot truck and trailer over a month before my move. The frustration of acquiring the equipment on that day was overwhelming. Luckily this location looked out for me, eventhough I had to drive over an hour to get the equipment.
Stacey BrownI would suggest you pickup/drop off where there is a staffed office open. For me, the Truck Share 24/7 seemed like a great idea, but if you are not tech savvy and able to trouble shoot internet connection problems, don’t use this feature.

Krystal HunleyThe location was 65 miles one-way from the house in Suffolk. It took a total of 3 hours round trip to get this vehicle. This 130-mile trip added an additional 3 hours to my trip back to Georgia, which was 10.5 hours. Background On Wednesday, July 14th, I called the Chesapeake facility where I had scheduled the original pickup. She told me they would not have any inventory on the weekend. She put me in touch with the Regional Manager whom I talked with on the 15th. He assured me there would be a truck at a nearby location, or he would contact me. Friday night, I get a text message while driving up from Georgia that my reservation was ready. When I look at it, I discover it is in Naggs Head, 65 miles from the desired location. I called customer service around 7:15 AM, and the lady told me that's the best U-Haul could do. Then she proceeded to tell me if I can't get to the facility by 8:40, someone could book the truck. I told her I was 1.5 hours away. She said the facility was closed, and I would need a remote pickup. Luckily, when I got there, the facility was open. The people at this location were very nice and took care of me.
