The whole experience was easy, from the reservation to renting the van. Van ran great, good gas mileage, and clean. Will use this location again. I would recommend having the gas tank full at pick up. It would be easier to return the vehicle with a full tank, to pay for what you used.

Personnel came to me and confirmed my drop off, seemed nice and caring, parking lot is sand and I would also recommend hip waders too, lots of water and deep, not just little either, very large, they could use about 24 yards (2 truck loads) of 3" rock in there after it were smoothed out first.

While the área was a bit crowded the staff member in charge was exceptionally helpful, courteous, and efficient. It took about 15 minutes to complete my transaction and be on my way. Returning my rental trailer was very easy and quick.

I first tried to make reserve a truck for Sunday, Sept 30. The online reservation went smoothly, but when I went to pick up the truck, I had instructions to input a code, and that code never worked. So I had to bail out on renting that day. Today, I was able to get in and out very efficiently. The young man at the desk is cheerful, helpful and very efficient. Good service.

The truck I used was clean however, It needed some maintenance. The wiper blades need replacing, we had a heavy rain storm and it was difficult to see with the blades not working well. The steering is very loose on this vehicle but I realize it has nearly 150K miles. The facility and staff are great at this location. I think the per mile charges are very high.

Great guy! Very professional and helpful. I asked for a 10ft truck. He didn’t have one but they gave me a 15ft truck for the price of the 10ft. That was so nice of him, I thought. Super easy. In & out. I will always use these guys!

Advise trailer renters that adhering to the 55 MPH speed limit makes it more likely that their tow vehicle will not break down during the trip. Protecting the transmission and drive train, including by slowing below 55 MPH on steep grades, is more important than trying to get there faster, only to end up waiting for a tow truck and vehicle repairs.

Initially I had been sent to Y-pay-more at 1738 N. Coast Hwy, Newport, to pick up the trailer I reserved. No one showed up to open the business, which was supposed to be open at 10am. After waiting 20-30 minutes, I called the U-Haul 800 number. I was sent down to the rental location in South Beach. Fortunately I had built in some time, and was not too inconvenienced by the N. Coast Hwy store.

I had a very bad experience with my reservation. This was not the fault of either locations that I went to for truck pickup. This was lack of communication from the reservation system itself. Originally, I had made a reservation (May 21st) for a 10' truck to be picked up at the South Beach, Oregon location. I was called back by UHaul and asked to "do you a favor". (I was told I would received a $25 discount for this "favor") Change in plans, pickup the 10' truck in Newport (Thrift Store location also working as a uhaul rental business, named "Why Pay More"). I was told that a 10' truck was being returned there in plenty of time for my Saturday morning pickup. That 10' truck was needed in Beaverton, Oregon for a regular maintenance inspection. And the TV Highway location in Beaverton, Oregon was my drop-off destination. I arrive on Saturday morning around 11:30 (right on time), but the location for pickup is closed. The owner does arrive a bit later and is very helpful. However, she does not have a 10' truck. Instead she only has a 15' truck. I call the UHaul reservation system and am informed that they have the right to make changes to my reservation, including the equipment available, if they need to (Not what I had been told several days earlier. Then the conversation had been that if my truck was not returned, I would get a $50 credit and equipment in the area for use) As this situation was further discussed, it was discovered that the 10' truck intended for me, had actually been extended on its rental time. But, no arrangements to get me a replacement truck had been made. And no phone call to me letting me know there would be no truck in Newport. No notice to me that different arrangements needed to be made. Again, the phone call reservation person was defensive and not very concerned for my situation. The owner of "Why Pay More" contacted the South Beach rental location and learned that there was still a 10'truck there (as there had been a few days previous). The telephone reservation system said they had now changed my reservation to pickup a 10' truck in South Beach. And now I would get a $30 discount (I believed this discount to be on top of the $25 discount I had been offerred for "doing UHaul a favor") In addition, it was discovered that the one 15' truck that was at the Newport "Why Pay More" location was not available for rental. Instead it was reserved and being picked up later that day. So, the phone call reservation person who had earlier insisted that I take the one 15' truck and insisted that UHaul had the right to make that switch in my equipment, almost messed up another person's rental. I then had to drive to South Beach to pick up the 10' truck. When I arrive at South Beach, there was some concern that the 10'truck reserved was not available for a one way move. (The telephone reservation person had not cleared that in the system.) Luckily, the South Beach Person was able to allow the 1
