Check in process was horrible and took over 45 minutes, even though I did the majority of it through the app. The store employee had to call his boss to walk him through the process and he had no idea what he was doing. The key would not unlock the drivers side door of the vehicle and it had to be entered through the passenger side. Check out process was also not great as I did it all on the app and the store employee kept me there for an additional 15-20 minutes while calling his boss to make sure everything was ok (it was). Location was at a sketchy gas station in a part of town I would not want to leave my car unattended while using the UHaul truck for the day.

I picked up the uhual at a gas station and it was the worst experience. When we arrived at the gas station there wasn't a lady at the front desk(there was a sign that said be right back) so while we waited for the girl to open the gas station doors I called a uhual location and the guy said to go inside and they will be waiting for me. The girl acted like she was no idea then she got on her cell phone and called her boss. This took about 30 min before we got the keys. Never again

This was hands down the worst U-Haul experience we’ve ever had—and we rent trucks weekly for our business, so that’s saying something. The vehicle we were given was absolutely filthy. Not just “normal wear and tear,” but genuinely disgusting. There was old, crusted food packed into the cracks of the seats, dried drips of who-knows-what all over the interior, and a general level of grime that made it obvious this truck hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time—if ever. It’s one thing for a rental truck to be used; it’s another for it to be completely neglected. On top of that, the truck itself was in terrible condition. It was clearly older and burned through gas at an unreasonable rate. Even worse, basic components were falling apart. The rubber lining around the door kept coming loose and literally falling onto my head while I was driving, which is both distracting and unsafe. The latch to the back door was so rusted that it had to be opened with a hammer—completely unacceptable for a rental vehicle that’s supposed to be functional and secure. The worst part came after we returned it. We were hit with a $450 charge for just three days and only half a tank of gas. We did not exceed the mileage, and there was nothing out of the ordinary about our usage. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay during the return process because the employee was taking an excessive amount of time, and I had somewhere I needed to be. That turned out to be a mistake, because the final bill was a complete shock. We’ve rented from many other U-Haul locations without any issues, but this one stands out for all the wrong reasons. Between the unacceptable cleanliness, unsafe and poorly maintained vehicle, and questionable billing, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. We will absolutely not be using this location again—and I’d strongly recommend others think twice before renting here.
