The back rear tire lost its retread and we were stuck in the hot Nevada desert for 3 hours waiting for it to get repaired. I lost a cooler full of frozen food, then had to stay in a hotel because we couldn’t unload in the dark. I told all of this to the general manager David. He said he would call me back when he had my contract in front of him. He didn’t call until the next morning, then said he didn’t remember me telling him about the frozen food. He gave me $100 back, when my overall loss was closer to $400. I understand blowouts happen, But that was a bad tire and they should have caught that before they rented the truck to me. I had a dog and two kids with me and it was dangerous to send us on our way with that truck. If you rent from this location, make sure to THOROUGHLY check your truck over, and don’t expect any compassion or compensation if things go wrong.

JORDAN JMy only issues I had was that as a first time renter of a U-Haul especially a truck, I wish they had taken time to inform me on anything I should know. Like being told about the verification part would’ve been nice to know in advance since I ended up not doing it because the link expired and internal errors on the site, and needing to know if the back could be locked or not as I was returning it, and lastly I am hoping the parking space I picked was the right one when I returned it since it was the same spot got it from.

JAVIN MThe truck we rented had a faulty driver side seatbelt. I had to strap it using the center seatbelt. It worked for my trip but I’m not sure it would have protected me from an accident. This vehicle needed a more thorough inspection and service before being rented.

KAREN MChoose 1 place to drop off in Utah near my final destination based on good reviews and the fact they were open to 5pm on my drop off day. Drove to that spot listed on my contract (that I choose from the list) only to find out they would not take it because U-Haul changed it on me. They were able to tell me the location but not why it would have been changed from my contract. Forced to use the U-Haul app since the new location was closed at 1pm. Also the app had no way to detail how to leave or secure the rented equipment with the truck. Left it in back and hoped for best. Poorly handled and executed by U-Haul from a customer service perspective.

Paden LI reserved a 5'x8' trailer at a location closer to where we were staying and then the day before got notified that we could only pick up a 6'x12' trailer at a site further across town 8 hours earlier than our originally scheduled pickup time. When I got there to pick up the trailer the gentleman was nice but when I asked if there were any 5'x8' trailers he said no (even though there was one right on the lot visible). He hooked us up with a 6'x12' that had a shot spring/dampening system and felt awful to pull. When we took it back he then offered us the 5'x8' that we originally wanted and said he'd update the paperwork after we left and we'd get an email. I did not get an email with the update and had to call Uhaul to confirm the switch was appropriately made. I think the issues were more with Uhaul's system but what is the point of making a reservation if everything about the reservation is going to get changed last minute?

RAYE MI have had good rental experiences in the past with U-Haul. This was not the case on this occasion. When we arrived at St George Outdoors at 9am when the store was scheduled to open, there were no employees at the location. After an almost 30 minute wait (with a few other customers) we called the U-Haul main line and rescheduled to pick up the truck at Sunset Rentals. When we arrived at Sunset, the system was down and the manager was unable to process our rental. After about an hour wait, the manager found a work-around to be able to get the truck rented to us. The manager at Sunset was good, but he did not have control over the system.

MARK FThere are too many bullshit fees included with this rental. I had put gas in the vehicle before dropping off and still got charged with a fuel charge. Renting from Home Depot would have been the cheaper choice. Uhaul is a joke and a scam, never before have I been taken advantage like this. Never again will I ever spend money with uhaul.
DOUGLAS SDrove 5 hours after making a reservation 5 days before... Only to find out they don't have the trailer reserved. The other 5 stores around didn't have one either. I had to take the axles out of an awd car and tow it on a dolly.

DOUGLAS MIt got the job done, but I can’t recommend this crew/franchisee. I’d previously read that despite this location being the most sensible for our needs, there were numerous complaints about the staff adding additional fees like SafeMove to receipts and contracts without informing customers or getting their consent. When we arrived I figured I would stay quiet and see if this played out, and lo and behold a $15 SafeMove charge I explicitly opted out of during reservation is now charged to my card as well (which I’ll contest as I’m able). I would have liked to believe this was an honest oversight, but I doubt it. In the grand scheme of things, it’s not much money but the principle remains that any honest business owner should do better. To potential customers, I’d steer clear.

Customer service lacks seriously at this location. He gave me zero instruction on how to use the car dolly just "go on YouTube and search it" then he didn't tell me which location I was to return my equipment nor did he tell me how long my rental was.

GLEN HThis was a terrible experience! I reserved the 10 foot truck for an in-town move on the U-Haul website with an email confirmation. When I arrived they said it was not available, even though I could clearly see it in the parking lot. When I pointed this out they said it wasn’t available for in town rental. They said the only van available was the larger more expensive option. Without my consent they then added insurance (again saying it was required). The whole thing cost twice what I had ordered and confirmed by email on the U-Haul website. I felt taken advantage of and would strongly discourage others from using this location.

John KI was able to switch the truck that I had reserved after hours and at the last minute on the app. While that was convenient for me, I inadvertently took a truck that someone else had reserved. The app worked great but apparently needs some tweaking.
