The car hauler was missing the proper wiring to hook up to have active lights. I had to go purchase a part out of my own pocket and did not get reimbursed and I left the piece with the trailer for the next person to at least have to operate it properly. Because we had a motor vehicle accident near VALEMOUNT, BC we were stranded in a town with no bus service, no taxis, no car rental, the only way out of town was to rent a 26' cargo truck. Roads were treacherous. We went 3 km out of town and ascertained that the truck could not handle the icy conditions and examined the tires. They were only summer tires and there were no chains in the truck. This is illegal in BC. We turned around. It was now dark. At 7AM we returned the truck with the explanation that it was both unsafe and illegal. The rental shop did not have tire chains at all. We called in and the agent would not refund us, only change the rental from a 360 km one way to a local haul. I was expecting a full refund as we only had about 5 km on the truck and the truck did not have required safety equipment, both unsafe and illegal. We paid $76.00 for nothing. UHaul customer service and this location went to great lengths to help me do an in-travel equipment swap when my own truck broke down on a rural BC highway on Easter Sunday while pulling one of your trailers. I cannot say how appreciative I am with your three customer service phone reps and local dealer personnel. And you actually answered the phone and helped on a holiday. That's excellent.Terrence G.

Repair the brakes. I drove down the Coquihala Hwy, BC CANADA, in 1st gear. It seamed that with the weight behind me & a loaded 15 ft cube van. The brakes seemed to lock sometimes, other times when gearing down the motor was revved high & wouldn't shift . I was a scary bloody experience for me!! I Also it took aprox. 1 hour to fill out paperwork, then the gentleman at the gas station/grocery store was on his own so we had to wait until he could lock the store up before taking me to the truck & car hauler. The entire trip to Valemont & back, including the fiasco doing the paperwork took 6 hrs. That's absolutely stupid!! I've done this trip from Barriere 2yrs ag, same size cube van. I did have to drive 2hrs round trip to Kamloops to pick up the car hauler. After this experience I will NEVER USE YOUR COMPANY AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND IT! That's the honest truth!@Vera W.

They charged my credit card twice overcharging me $450, with the stress of moving I'm now short on my first months rent because of this lack of training. I'm very frustrated and upset about this as I did mention it to the guy swiping my card at the time â€œthis better not charge me twiceâ€ and he assured me it WILL NOT! I'm now having to go through the process of getting my money back. Reserving a moving truck was also a hassle with this location. The trailer has a leak on the master cylinder and it means the brakes are not working. It is a big trailer not to have the brakes working. Also because Valemount is a small agency we had to wait and wait for head office to complete the deal. I ended up leaving before teh office got back as I was told it was OK. The Valemount location was good, however I am upset at having been redirected from the Hinton, AB, location for drop-off. This redirect, supposedly because Hinton's lot was full (not my fault) meant I had to take an extra day because I didn't have time on the original planned drop off day for the extra hour of drive time, which I was billed for, in addition to paying for the extra fuel for the extra 60 miles I had to drive because of this, not to mention having to accommodate the trailer at my workplace for the extra day instead of bringing it back immediately after I unloaded it. This redirect added considerable expense and effort to my move, which I'm not happy about. I've used UHaul in the past and find their services valuable, but after this experience, be assured, if there's another option for the next time, I'll be sure to use it.Evan H.

They gave me a 20' truck instead of a 26' truck in which I ordered. The clerk insisted that it was a 26' truck. They also did not have many blankets, and I was given 2 bags which the clerk said there was 12 in each bag. There were only 6 in each bag. I was charged for 24 when I only received 12 blankets. This charge was not refunded. I contacted Uhaul by phone and they gave me a trailer to go with the truck but I had to drive 4 hours to pick it up. I was charged the rate for a 26' truck instead of the 20'. In the end I received 50 dollars back from my bill, but this did not cover the difference in price of the trucks, the overcharge on the moving blankets, and the fact that I had to drive 4 hours to get a trailer. This was a poor experience.calvin P.

The latch connection was faulty. The trailer was full of garbage. And this trailer was supposed to be in hinton not in British Columbia...This extra travel time coat me 3 hours time and extra fuel money. I booked a week in advance to ensure that i would have a 6X10 trailer awaiting. But to no avail. Upon arrival in Hinton the lady at the tempo assured me that the U haul representative booked me a 5X9 toy hauler trailer instead of the intended 6X10 trailer that i had reserved. I had called the 1800 U haul number repeatedly only to be put on hold by 5 customer service reps and hung up on 5 times. The sixth representative was able to help me, (while not putting me on hold) attain a trailer which is the one i aquired in British Columbia. Her name Was Lisa Thieleman & she should be considered for a promotion to teach the other 5 reps how to deal with customers.STAN L.
The trailer was covered in snow and ice, there wasn't anything to help lift the trailer onto the hitch, the door was frozen and unable to lock and we had a flat tire. The lady at the counter was not trained as it took over an hour and a half to get the paper work finalized and wasn't able to help with putting the trailer on or the door as she would be liable if she broke anything (very kind, just not trained). There were no hitches available for purchase at this location or locks which was not stated before moving our reso to this location since our first location was closed.Sasha A.

I have several issues with this rental. The Tow dolly was required or Would Not Have Been able to do the move with the truck. Firstly I had to go 130 KM's out of way and back, 260 total. The equipment was barely usable. The only lights that work when tried with my car and later a Uhaul truck were the running lights, No brake lights , No signal Turn lights. As the Location told me I had two choice take it as it was or return to Jasper empty handed, that would have meant cancelling my move. I am impressed with the situation NOT AT ALL>Robert W.

My first time renting From uhaul I had a terrible experience. I got my uhaul from Valemount tempo, specifically asked if I could take the uhaul on highway 93 they had the the km mapped for that way, drove close to 2 hours out of the way $80 on gas and got turned around we pulled over I called tempo they told me it was my fault, I should of looked into It; which i did because I asked them and if they would of said I am unsure I would of called the parks to ask, the people at the parks gate said Uhaul has tried sending lots of people on that highway to the point where they are ready to call uhaul because they feel bad having to turn people around, so instead of the 4 hour drive we had to go close to 10 hours all the way around Kamloops, threw revelstoke.8 hours from Valemount but we were close to 2 hours in the wrong way, after tempo upset me I called uhaul customer service and they said they have never heard of anyone being turned around. By time we got in it was 2am, we had plans that evening not only did there mistake wreck our plans but waisted our time and money. Very unsatfied and would rather use a horse trailer next time.Destiny S.

The actual locations were good to deal with. It was the 1-800-Uhaul # that was a pain to deal with. The first operator didnt believe there was a U Haul location in Clearwater, BC and actually hung up on me. A call back was never recieved. Second call was placed and a truck was found in Valemount, please note the operator could not find the location until I provided the Postal Code. The pick up was scheduled for 9am yet the local dealer was never called so no one was prepared when I arrived at 9am. I had to wait for the guy to come from his house and then he spent a lot of time of the phone trying to figure out the rental. I did not get the keys until 10:45am which set me back on my move. I also had to provide 2 visa numbers and a drivers license in order to complete the contract. I have had easier time renting a sports car in a different country then I did renting your U haul.mark M.

This was the 2nd time we used Wheels 4 Rent (Kennedy and Eglinton in Scarborough) and like our first experience, we were very pleased. This family run enterprise is professional and honest(not always the easiest thing to find in Toronto). The one caveat when renting their 14' truck is the age of the vehicle and the fact that some minor maintenance/upkeep is required (i.e. the headlight knob had fallen off and was difficult to operate). However, we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.Tim G.

What a difference a month makes. My first Uhaul experience, little over a month ago, was highly disappointing from a Customer Service perspective (i.e. Mulock Drive U-Haul near Keele and St.Clair in Toronto). This time around, the professionalism of the staff made our moving experience (i.e. from storage to our new home), stress free. The owner was thorough and incredibly accommodating. The only thing that keeps this rating from being excellent, was the age of the vehicle (and the relative inconvenience of finding a gas station that sells diesel). However, I have no hesitation recommending the location.TIM G.

First off the mamager at this location called and left a message bumping our pick up time back an hour and upon dropping it off he added 15 dollars for insurance to the final bill when I specifically opted out of it when I booked online. Such shady business. In sure he adds it to everyones bill just to pocket extra money. As well as I gave him a 100 dollars cash deposit so you would think he would be smart enough to realise were going to need cash back and to make sure he has some on him which of course at the end of the day he did not so he also stole our change since he had none. Well he had 4 hours to make sure he had change and failed. I'm definately not impressed and everyone I talked to told me to avoid using uhaul. Now I see why. It was my first experience and my last. I will never deal with a company that steals MY money. Such shady business. Hope the 25 dollars stolen was worth it becuase I will never use your service again and will make sure to tell everyone I can about this experience. 1. My reservation was not honored as the vehicle was given to someone else. I was told to come in at 7am,the following day. Kevin came in at 7:40am with no explanation as to why he was late. 2.
