When I picked up the truck I was told on the website there was also an appliance dolly available. I had paid for it already and when I arrived to pick up my equipment, they in fact did not have an appliance dolly available. Not only was what I needed and had paid for not available, but the associate running the register had no clue how to remove it from my bill or do anything else in the system for that matter. She had to call someone else on the phone and that person so she could not do it without looking at the screen. So the associate on duty had to video chat her and she still struggled. Once it was time for me to leave this associate could not locate the key to the proper truck either. She finally did find the keys but when it was all said and done I had been there for right at an hour. Other than that, this location was great. We ended up having to keep the U-Haul for 8 days past the original agreement. The lady who runs this location contacted me several times during that eight days just to touch base so she could notify you all in order to avoid me getting into any kind of legal trouble. She was extremely helpful and nice throughout the whole ordeal. It was the most stressful move I have ever had, she however made it just a little better so I am grateful for that. Her name was Barbara and I would gladly recommend her to someone else.James W.

The worst experience I've had with U-Haul ! the place was very dirty. The cashier didn't know to enter my return. She end up losing the truck I parked on the property. I almost thought I'd have to file a police report cause they didn't have any record of me returning the truck or where it was. I'll never rent a U-Haul from this location again.Laquesha J.
The girl working the desk was new and had no clue what she was doing, I expect she will get better. For us the area was out of the way and not a good neighborhood. U-haul itself I would not recommend. I would not have used them this time but they were the sadly the only real option. When I went to reserve the truck I did it online, I wanted a 15' truck picked up at Green Savannah Nursery. But the internet said no pick up available there. It said a 10' truck was so I scheduled that. I noticed later that the pick up would be at Broad Street. Which ticked me off. Then when I went to check in online, it said pick up at Red Bay. Although it was less BS than last 2 times. I did get a 15' at no extra charge so that was good.Joseph B.

Be open when you say you will be open online. It is in an awful location in Sumter and not safe. My original location truck had their catalytic converter stolen. They did not help to remedy this situation. Iï¸ had to make a call to 1-800 Uhaul. Iï¸ shouldn't need to do that! And then had to call the area manager to get the code to get the keys in Sumter. This was an awful experience all around. Iï¸ will NEVER rent a U-hail ever again!Bryce D.
The truck was not clean and I was forced to switch from in person pick up to online. The mielage was screwed up so the site refused to let me enter the correct mileage and the help desk wait was an hour. When someone finally answered, I was told they could do nothing to help. I also paid for two dollies and the truck did not have either of them. Finally, the location for pick up was moved from where I reserved the truck to a location twenty miles farther from where I needed it.Benjamin W.
The lock for the black box was very difficult to unlock. Took an hour with customer service. Boxes should be numbered to minimize confusion. Person who called from store wouldn't answer their phone to offer support. Customer service took 30 mins to get on line. By far the worst U-Haul experience ever! Tell the right place to pick up truck we were told to go to Camden to get it and had to turn around and go back to Sumter though that was done all wrong and then change extra for miles on your truck what about the miles on my truck for y'all's mistake would not use you again and would not tell others to use you plus told 3 different charges at one when we reserved the truck and then another when that call to pick up truck in Camden then after we got to Camden told the truck was in Sumter and another price when we pick up the truck.what about my miles on my truck running all around on a egg hunt.???fred F.

They told us where to park the trailer. Looked at our paperwork and said they would check it in and not worry about it, we were a day early dropping. We emailed them hours after it wasn't done. Called Uhaul 1800 number to get it fixed but they did not answer their phone. Had to drive to the drop location and ask personally, why it was not checked in. Then finally 2 hours later it was done but that way way after when the trailer was due.Jason B.
