Very helpful to find what I was looking for
luis rI am requesting a full credit for this rental. My justification for the ask is that the trailer was provided with tire pressures that were out of spec for the tires on the trailer. We had a blow out in the mountains going around a curve, downhill, and luckily I was able to keep the vehicle and trailer from colliding with traffic or unsafely exiting the roadway! When the roadside assist showed up, I watch him safety check the tires on the trailer (as he should). All three of the tires that he checked (that did not blowout) were all overinflated by 10 pounds! This can be confirmed by your service provider, assuming he would be truthful with his response. A company renting trailers to the public has a duty to: Maintain the trailer in a reasonably safe condition. Inspect the trailer before renting it. Repair known defects. Comply with applicable safety regulations and manufacturer requirements. It is evident this equipment was not rented according to the above. IF the company renting the trailer to me would have inspected the tires prior to renting to me, there is a great probability this blowout would not have happened and we almost have an accident with my family in the vehicle. The facility folks were nice and accommodating, but the lack of safety inspections is not acceptable and poses a significant risk to my family.
