To start with,I was called two days prior to moving and was informed they didn't have a truck for me until Monday. I was quite upset and asked the woman if she knows how hard it is to find people to help you move? I had this planned and reserve the truck ahead of time. I actually wanted the 26 foot truck but you only had the 20 foot truck. So I settled with that. She then proceeded to tell me she had a 15 foot truck. And that nothing else was available in the area. I was pretty upset so I told her to figure out what she was going to do before I actually got upset with her. So she found me a location 20 minutes out of my way. The truck ran horribly. I pulled over to try and call uhaul for help and no one answered. I need a truck for the end of the month but I will be looking to rent rent with something elsewhere. I can't believe I reserved a truck and then got a run around about it. The service needs some serious attention. Moving is stressful enough. Adding issues with the rental I planned on, did not help the cause.Gna S.

First off, I did not like that our location was changed. Second off, I am not sure if I will do UHaul again because, even though the towns in NY or about 5-10 miles apart, I was not eligible for the 19.99 a day and to boot, I was charged for mileage.Linda S.

The agent at this location did not verify the trailer number on the trailer with what was on my receipt. It turned out that they DID NOT MATCH which caused an hour delay when I returned the trailer at the return location. However, this agent was very helpful hooking the trailer to my vehicle for me. The truck was filthy inside the cabin. There was coffee spilled in the cupholders, dog fur, mud on the floor and the truck had such a strong smell of cigars that I had to buy a lot of car air refreshes to make it a little better.Fabricio K.

Trailer was not ready when I got there. They had to unload the trailer before I could take it. Upon inspection the rear doors opened hard due to the lower 2 hinges on the one door being sprung and not fitting properly. Also when opened trailer doors the trailer stunk of stale beer. Must have been full of empty beer products that they had to unload. Had to leave the doors open on the trailer for a few hours to let it air out before putting anything in it. Also the guy who took my reservation (not anyone from this location) did not put down proper pick up times. The time requested was between 4 and 5pm showed at 435pm started process and your computer system added a 3rd day to the rental. Caught that before allowing them to charge my card. Returned trailer in better condition then I got it. The people at the location were very nice and great to work with other then the above situationmark B.
The 24/7 Truckshare system simply doesn't work. The location had my truck ready to go, but when I tried to use my phone to check in, I got a bizarre error message saying something like "no resource has been assigned" and then it crapped out. Had to call customer service to get it to work. Defeats the purpose, doesn't it? Someone didn't do their job, it wasn't at the local site. I have a good impression of the location, but a VERY POOR impression of UHaul.William H.
I ordered a 15' truck from the Vestal Uhaul location. I arrived at Top Gear Auto Sales in Apalachin for the truck at 7:50am. I drove + walked around the place looking for the entry door. I met Matt an employee who directed me to the correct door. His coworker arrived at 8:10am. I followed them in and indicated that I had ordered a 15' truck from the Vestal Uhaul location from 8am - 8pm on Friday 3-1-19. The employee who was late complained of the Dunkin Donuts not having his coffee ordered so he had to visit a different D+D to get his correct order. I did not get out of there until 8:20am! The truck was a bit dirty in the back which I swept out with the push-broom I brought. I brought the truck back at 7:50pm and the place was closed! So I admit, I should've left the key in the drop box by the door. But I wasn't used to doing that. So I took the key with me. I thought Top Gear would be open at 8am Saturday morning. I called at 8:30am and left a message stating that they had my debit card. I checked my messages on my phone at 10am and got a message from a manager at Top Gear wondering where the key was to the truck. So I raced back to Top Gear returned the key and the manager charged me an extra hour because I didn't get the key back until 11am. They opened at 10am. I did not care fpr the tardiness of the person who opened up so late, but I admit I should have left the key in the drop box by the door. I guess I learn by my mistakes.Karl R.

The young gentleman who helped me was courteous, friendly, and efficient; and came out to help me get the trailer hooked up to my truck as the rain was starting. Also volunteered instructions about how to return the trailer on Sunday while the place was closed. Couldn't ask for better.Jerry P.

This rental was done by someone else using my name, phone number, and driver license number. I made several phone calls to U-Haul corporate offices as well as the actual rental location prior to the equipment being returned but was unable to persuade the rental location to obtain the identity of the renter. My primary complaint is that U-Haul did not verify the identification of the renter when the equipment was picked up or even after I requested they do so on the return of the equipment. The only help I got was advice to file a police report which I did.Timothy M.

I was unable to rent the size that I had requested, your smallest size. I was given a 6 x 12 instead which I didn't need anything that big. I also ordered a dozen packing blankets. They didn't have 12 so I was suppose to be given 6 instead. The next day when I was packing the packing blankets were not in the trailer. This was most inconvenient!Sarah E.

Stated that uhaul sat for several months power steering is going out and it ate gas probably hasn't been tuned up. Experience in general is I will never rent from them again or aryes building supply in wysox where we were supposed to pick up. Wouldn't even give us our guarenteed 50$. Other place we had to wait over 3 hours and we still didn't get all the equipment. Had to leave our car at the old place.Kelly H.

I rented the truck at the U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer in Endicott, NY. (607-341-4706) I was told that I had unlimited miles. When I picked up the truck no one said anything about a set number of miles and a milage oeragefee. When I returned the truck it was after hours and then I got the email from the returning facility and I was charged a wi will be need a rongi idestation charge and a milage fee. I called and asked about both and the wrong destation fee was refunded but was rudly told that U-Hail as never had unlimited milage. i as the customer olny know what I am told. I do not work in the industry. I wi ll be needing a rental truck again when I find a house to buy but after this experance I am not sure tha it will be with U-Haul. If you are going to let anybody present you you should mae sure that theyare trained properly and that they know that the customer pays their paycheck.Matthew S.

I was assured at the time of signing up for the rental that my credit card would NOT be charged and that it was only needed to secure the rental. I was also told that my son could pay the rental fee in cash when he returned the truck. This was NOT the case as he was told, when trying to pay, that my credit card had already been charged in the amount of $150.08 and there was nothing to be done as far as crediting my account to accept the cash he had in hand. Had I known this at the time of rental, my son would have given me the cash before moving out of the area. This has turned out to be a huge inconvenience all the way around.Dawn S.

For online reservation system, let customer know ACTUAL inventory available at a given location, i reserved a truck late night after business hrs and selected a location that was convenient, only to get a call at scheduled pickup time that the selected location did not have the truck i needed and was thus redirected to the next nearest location with sai desired truckAaron B.

They charged me for a dolly and I didn't get one,my appointment was at9:00 at one place then I was sent to another place because the truck wouldn't start got to the second place at 9:30 they didn't open till 9:50 now I'm 50 minutes to pick up a truck the second place was 20 min late and I never go the dolly.CHARLES B.
I reserved a tow dolly and ad to answer the same questions over at the dealer. It seems the UHaul computer system needs some updating to make it user friendly for the dealer. It took about 45 minutes to complete the transaction.RICHARD L.

The person renting us the trailer didn't seem to know how to use the U-Haul software system. She blamed Windows 10. She had to call someone on the phone twice. We never got a receipt, not even email. We were charged an extra $30 for insurance for a $64 trailer rental and never told until I looked at our online credit card bill. Robbery.... We should have been told about the insurance charge and that we could decline it. This is a terrible U-Haul location.John G.
