I returned the equipment after 3 hours, I drove only about 18 km. It was my first time to rent from UHAUL. They charged me $110. Also after I returned the van, they called me saying that they didn't receive the equipment, also they sent me an email. I called them back and confirmed that I returned the equipment also I entered the inside the office to ask them what is the next to do the payment, and inside there's a video cam recording everything. I shocked when I hear that, the service was very bad. Also I don't know why they charged me a $110 for only 3 hours!!!!!!

Pickup experience:
1/ the U-Haul app however boastful and highly promoted - did not work, it just kept loading and spinning after 'pickup' was pressed; 2/ the assigned truck was snowed in, and I had to shovel the snow waste high for an hour to dig it out, as show-removal equipment or crew were nowhere to be found
3/ for windshield washer fluid, you are at risk, because if the truck was snowed in, no one checked it or topped it up
4/ same comment about the cargo space - it was not broom-swept when I opened the gate, but again, that was not checked either
5/ during truck check-in process, the app didn't work, again, and after I made and kept the photos of all four sides and odometer, it wasn't possible to upload them to the app
Driving and return experience:
1/ the steering was subpar, some inexperienced drivers can say, dangerous - the tolerance angle (slack) on the steering wheel was high; at steady steering wheel position, the truck will veer left or right
2/ windshield pump performance could be better or it was clogged - this reduced visibility in traffic on slushy winter roads
3/ during return, I was directed by a U-Haul receiving crew member to steer and park the truck near the snowbanks and the other equipment, so no outside photos ('return' photos) could be taken
4/ subsequently, during the return process no one checked the four side (may be there are some dents that need to be discussed); no one checked the cleanliness of cargo space, etc. - there was no pre- and post- rental inspection; so if there's no track record of vehicle usage, how are disputes resolved?
Summary: though I completed the goal for which the ruck was rented, and nothing broke and I came back in one piece, the overall satisfaction was low. If you ask if I'd recommend this location, I'd say 'No'. But its the only place in town where you can practically rent a truck, and even at low scores, people keep coming here. So may be this is the reason why the crew and the management don't feel they have to improve anything - because people will come anyway.

This location used to be good. They pack way to many trucks into the lot. The main thoroughfare around the building is usually blocked with trucks parked poorly and doors left wide open. They are lacking organization and do not have enough staff to properly serve there customers. I had to go back inside to ask for help after waiting 25 to pick up my trailer because another customer was having problems and blocking the lane way.
I witnessed a staff member let a customer leave after determining his signal/break light system was not functioning properly (problem with customers wiring harness). Customer then upon leaving pulled the same trailer into the back of a poorly parked Uhaul moving truck.
This whole experience felt chaotic, unorganized and stressful. I used this location because its the closest to my house but would not recommend it to many because the experience is more often than not stressful.

I was generally happy until I ended my rental on January 18th and then was charged $192 on January 20th! I now have to waste time from my day to call and try to get the charge reversed. I cannot tell you how angry I am that the person who checked me out and confirmed locker was empty didn’t close the account resulting in the erroneous charge. Terrible service.

Very disappointing experience with U-Haul.
On January 20, 2026, I went to return a truck I had rented. The female employee on duty had a very rude and unprofessional attitude from the start. She told me to leave and wait outside until someone came to receive the truck. I waited for almost one hour. During that time, only one person briefly came by, did not check anything properly, and left without helping.
When I went back inside to ask again, the employee spoke to me very disrespectfully and said, “We don’t have time, go use the app and return it yourself.” This was despite the fact that there were no customers in the office at that moment.
I understand being busy, but there is no excuse for poor customer service, lack of communication, and rude behavior. This experience was frustrating and unacceptable. I expect much better treatment from a company like U-Haul

I was disappointed with the number verification required to approve the vehicle. In addition to the extra verification, the approval process took nearly 30 minutes due to repeated trial and error. Moreover, although a small cargo van was available, the online showed me only a truck option that cost $10 more. However, the U-Haul staff was able to reserve a cargo van on her computer right in front of me. Why was the cargo van not shown as an option to me but available to the staff? Is this a business tactic?

Very bad customer service. I bought a bed cover and the lady overcharged me. The fixed price was $9.95, but I was charged $11.99. It's unfair. Two weeks before I booked, I was quoted $1 per km, but in the end, it was $1.92 per mile. I don't get it. Is it racism involved? Still, I didn't get reimbursed.

Guys in yard couldn't find trailer I reserved. It was covered in snow and ice and was not cleaned off at all. Way to expensive. Had to drive it all they way back to Scarborough which my original rental was scheduled to be returned at my destination town. Girl at counter was good though in Scarborough. I rented a cargo van at 6PM on Jan. 12th & returned it at 1PM on the 13th. I waited to be checked in but there was no attendant on site, I went inside the office & was told that they were short staffed & to just leave the truck there. An hour later, I received an email containing the invoice/ a $20 was charged for "after hours drop off". When I called the office to discuss this, I was told that I should be checking in (returning ) by myself otherwise there would be a charge & that in the contract. I"ve been a loyal customer over the past many years & I have witnessed your service going down bit by bit. I am not good with digital stuff, & I'm being asked to check in & check out on my phone???/ I've decided that I will have to fine another source for my rental needs who can provide the service a customer needs. Sorry but your service is really bad even though the girls working at the counter are amazing.

The person that connected my trailer should be fired. I did not notice until I dropped the trailer off but he connected the chains and it didnt have a rubber ring on it. It may show on his picture. But I took a picture in front of the employee as I took it off. It is not safe and I also could have been charged if I was pulled over.

The location is too busy was hard to get the truck out , had to move mirrors around to be able to take the car out .
The first rental location changed , then I moved to another pick up location , a truck was not available when I got there so I was sent to another location , that location was icy it was hard to get the truck out and the app did not work in that location so I was not able to compleat a pick up and delivery on my own , that cost a ripple effect that delayed my whole day , bottom line lots of frustration and was not happy . The second day at your location I had a hard time taking the truck out as there was no room to move , I had to push all the mirrors in order to not hit another car on each side

This is the second time I rent truck from this location. Last time was average. Because customer service is so so and nothing like the excellent customer service when I call U-haul hot line.
But recent experience on Jan03 is really not good at all .
When I returned the truck, I was asked to wait outside in the cold weather to wait for the associate who was handling different kind of rental tasks.
When I went outside there was no one. So I asked the Front desk if there was anyone working outside. She said yes but there was only 1 person and asked me to go back out to wait.
After 15 minutes there was no sign of anyone, I was freezing cold and went inside and asked to have the return process done at the front desk. Obviously she said no but suggested me to drop the key to the truck and not to lock the truck. This is my story....What about yours?

Staff needs to acknowledge their customers. After receiving my keys from the check-in desk inside, it was difficult to get attention from the staff outside.
Also, truck was stuck in snow which delayed my pickup for another 30 minutes. This was after having my reservation relocated twice, one for not having the truck available, and the other not having the truck ready for pickup at the required time.
My pickup time was for 8:00am. I didn’t get the truck until 9:35am which added more stress to my move.
U-haul needs to over-haul their booking system.

The customer service at this location needs work. I got there at 7am to pick up my rental truck. The woman helping me at the front desk was not friendly and helpful. More like she was annoyed that I was there. Since this was the first time renting a U-Haul truck, I was unaware of the policy to take a selfie and put my Drivers License online via photo. I was not impressed, as I am very hesitant with technology. I called customer service and they told me that the manager at the location could override this option. I asked for the manager and was told that she was on vacation. If I was told about this requirement, I most likely would have rented else where. The only positive experience at this location was with the gentleman who helped me return the vehicle. He was kind and professional and actually made me laugh. Not sure what you have to do to get the customer service to a higher level…? Who knows, maybe I came on a bad day…

Trailer was absolutely filthy when we rented it. The straps were frayed. The gentleman hooking up the trailer was incredibly rude and when we returned the trailer, they didn’t sign it in. They told me to drop it in the back I did so and then they called me the next day to ask when I would be dropping the trailer off, even though it was dropped off the day before they forgot to sign it in and tried to charge me for an additional day. Absolutely terrible service. I’ve never had a problem at U-Haul like this.

Upon returning the vehicle I filled the tank with petro (gasoline) but was unaware that it was only 3/4 full upon pick-up time. U-Haul could be more transparent about this practice, or at least providing vehicles with a full tank of petro when picked-up. That way it would be much easier to simply re-fill the tank at drop-off.
I paid $54.00 for petro and only drove 17 miles! To me this seems a rather unethical practice since I had no way of knowing when to stop filling up with the engine shut-off. Very disappointing!

the booking system is misleading and causes alot of frustration. i booked on call with assosiate they took my card number to make a booking. i confirmed that i will just need to go and pick ip, yes? they confirm yes, that someone will call me to confirm the booking van and storage. So, when i reached the facility to pick up van, i was told theres not booking. then again when i reached for the storage, i storage i had been assigned was no longer available cause more frustration and delays.

I have used this place at least twice with extra charges, this time the same, I only rented for a month but deducted me for two months.
I went to the office four times a week to get my extra deductions back and each time I was told the manager was not in and that the manager would call me but I never got a feedback.

There are more affordable, bigger units, and those with elevator access available at competitors.
U-haul storage was not my first choice, but due to limited time to move-in and return the truck I opted for a more expensive, smaller unit, and without elevator access, instead of going to the competitor.
If I had more time, I would have opted for another storage facility.

The fact that this facility did not have an elevator was a surprise. There were no ground level units left. There should have been some flag during the online booking process to let me know that the facility did not have any kind of elevator. It made the move-in process very tiring.

I had several reservations cancelled due to the inability to book more than a week in advance. I had a difficult time with the app, having to change my password repeatedly .
The storage information did not show up on the app with my truck and move company reservation.
Most importantly I was told clearly the first month was free several times until I got to the facility. I drive a fair distance for that be wfit and could have paid to choose another facility much close to me.

I have nothing to complain about my almost 5 years at the Warden U-Haul storage location.
My only suggestion, is they need to have more people working the counter stations. Especially at the end of the day near closing time. This is my only criticism. Other than that, I couldn’t be happier with my experience with U-Haul storage. If they had a larger storage unit , I would have continued to be a customer.

I had reserved online a particular storage unit base on it's size. At the time of booking there was one unit left. I had the option of paying at the counter or completing the transaction on line. I choose at the counter. When I arrived I was told the locker wasn't available anymore. I assumed they meant because of me. The staff said no, someone else rented it. When I asked for an explanation they said is was on first come basis. I don't understand how you can book online and have the store override the transaction. As I already booked a truck I was forced to take a smaller unit.

1)Light was required in the storage since it was a 24 accessI selected...I was there until 9pm and I had to use my phone light.
2) When the rain fell water settled in front of my #700 storage and was a Hazzard for me.....with my in and out of the storage, the storage became dirty and I feared I may fall.

Access to the outside unit is good. Unit very spacious. But outside area is not well lit at night. I had to keep my car headlights on to see what I was doing. Not clear on how security is maintained at night. No security gates. Also I would recommend dropping the $10 charge for 24 hour access since anyone can get into the area at any time of day or night so what are you paying for?

Had a problem with a default lock that was sold to. The keys would not open it and got stuck. They took a few days to resolve the issue and wanted to double charge me for a new one. The sales rep who said that she was acting manager wasn't very nice. Thank God I'm out of there. Wouldn't choose this location again

I opted to move my stuff to another non-Uhaul facility as this one I found to be not only overpriced but also not maintained well. My boxes were damp and right from my first day there I had a terrible time trying to close the locker door (I also had two friends attempt to close it and both struggled as well). Additionally, every time I opened the door or shut it a bunch of sawdust (our what I believe to be sawdust would fall on me). The containers were not in good condition and I was not willing to risk having my stuff in there during the Winter months.

No elevator's!! Had a heck of a time trying to carry stuff up then down those stairs. Dolly's where provided both at top and bottom of stairs but useless on stairs. Not informed of this when I accepted a 2nd floor unit. If I had known stairs were involved wouldn't have accepted a unit on the second floor.

STOP IT! management: wake up to the fact you don't understand what customer service means. Get retrained so that the staff don't get the full brunt of the criticism and harassment because of your blindspots. I would never buy a franchise for that reason. The company is losing millions and they don't know it and probably do care. So sad. Get the president to become ab undercover boss if he/she really care about the huge losses.

Little frustrating that you can’t use your own lock especially when you are short on money and have none, yet need to store items so you can get the trailer back and get a refund. I was given an all-in price on the phone and I arrived with my own lock which was a high quality lock. When I came in to rent the van body, I was told I was required to purchase and use a Uhaul lock. That lock was junk and did not even secure through all three portions of the van body door fastener (but my own lock did). The staff were rude on several occasions. additionally, I was taken for the first time, on a golf cart, to see the unit, the driver smashed the roof of the cart on the opening garage door and debris flew at me. The ‘gold’ lock that goes on the left side of the unit is also a joke. One swing of a tack hammer would open it. Obviously this is just a means of pressuring people into paying more for 24 hour access in addition to forcing people to buy a crappy uhaul lock. The location is not secure and my unit leaked, damaging a $4000 mechanical massage chair.
I have, over the years, rented many, many uhaul trucks, mostly for business purposes, but sometimes for personal use (as I did to fill up my vanbody storage rental). I did not rent from uhaul when I emptied it out. Because of your unfair, gauging policies, rude staff, inadequate facilities and the generally poor service (staff would not even provide me a paper receipt a email only) uhaul has lost my business permanently.

The General Manager at this location was amazing... there was an issue with my storage and the associate their couldn't help with the problem. The General Manager went above and beyond to assist me.

Rent increased 3 TIMES in ONE year. We had the 24 hour access but a few times the alarm had gone off making it really inconvenient and loud to move things around! Expensive to rent. Staff were nice.
