They walked me down to my unit, showed me the process of setting the alarm, helped direct me while backing up my trailer to the unloading area, and even helped me pull one of the handy carts I had loaded so I wasn’t pulling 2 at a time by myself. The facility looks clean and well lit, and it even has a bathroom on the 2nd floor- very convenient! I highly recommend this facility AND this staff if you’re looking to store things or move them.

I offered rope for tie down & they said it wasn't necessary. The 5 Guys Movers. My stuff was already boxed, they just had to load safely. The guys in Texas unfortunately found out about the issue when they brought container & got ready to unload. Alexander Brothers they did a great job unloading

WILFREDO SMade a reservation online showed up to pick our truck only to be told they did not have what we reserved. We had to go to another location to pick up a truck and then drive back to pick up utility dolly needed. This was a big inconvenience we where on a time schedule and was late due to all of this heartache and inconvenience. Would I recommend this location to others at this time no due to this issue. The staff was friendly and apologized but all the apologies do not make up for the time wasted.

JULIUS WThis is not against this location, I had originally reserved a 20ft truck at the Brandon location, they didn’t have one, Breanna at Brandon corporate downgraded me to a 15ft, told me that mileage would be free, due to having to drive much further to pick up truck and being smaller would require more trips. Then I was charged the same amount I was quoted for the 20ft and charged mileage. I was expecting a phone call to talk about this and have yet to hear anything, I was still charged the same amount and I ended up paying for more gas than required as well.

RICHARD BI set an appointment for 7am mobile pickup. When I arrived at the location, I was told that the location had not set the truck up for this service and that I had to wait until 9am for the store to open. When I came back at 9am, there was a line, and I had to wait an additional 30 minutes to speak with customer service. The customer service agent was not apologetic and did not display any care to be there or help anyone. Once I got the truck, multiple warning lights we on, including the check engine light. During drop off, it took another 20 minutes just to drop the truck off due to slow service.

KALOA DAlthough, my 15' truck was NOT ready at 8am and I had to wait until an employee arrived at 9am to have a truck issued to me, that was corporate UHaul's fault and NOT the GM, Vinne Whatley, who made things right quickly and easily all the way to putting the truck key in the drop box after hours! Pablo FI rented a truck from this location, the person who was behind the counter was extremely aggressive and rude to me with no reason or any provocation and yelled at me as to why I was looking at her while she was doing my check in for a truck rental, she got very aggressive and the manager didn’t do anything to stop her from having that attitude, it got worse when she walked out to the service person who was going to bring the truck and said “ these fucker rented a truck go get it” as I was standing there and when I questioned her as to why she referred to me as a fucker she raised her hand and said I am not talking to you, go away! So I told her she was a terrible customer service person which she said I dont care, so I left and the driver who brought my truck apologized in her behalf. Never renting from this place again and hope she is taken off customer service.
Alvaro MBe sure all the trailer markers work and 6 x 12’ trailers are NOT 6’ at the gate. Get some trailers that are a full 72” at the gate and have a long gate for loading a three wheel motorcycle more easily.

EUGENE PWhen ordering the truck it wasn’t made clear that the location was not guarenteed. I was then offered a truck 30 minutes away which is in my opinion not acceptable. You should confirm that people understand the location they choose is not guarenteed. When arriving at the new location, we waited in line for an hour to be told there was no truck. They figured it out and got us one but the experience was all around horrible. Was never told I was going to have to pay the gas until I went to pick it up. And had to pay for more gas because I had to pick the truck up further away. I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone.

The phone only asked me to press buttons related to truck rentals. Nothing correlated with storage as phone options. 3. I moved 30 minutes away from the storage unit. If I went at 8 o'clock at night to get things out of the storage and then returned at 10 o'clock at night to get some more things I would be locked out of the storage which meant that I wasted a thirty minute drive to the storage unit that I could no longer access.

They called us one day before move in saying that they had no more storage units because cash pay clients come first. We had reserved one week prior and we were moving from Michigan. They called us when we were driving through Kentucky. I let them know this was unacceptable and I didn’t care that there was people doing cash pay. I reserved one week prior. Then months in they charged my card 3 times and it was a huge mess. Luckily the staff that was on site yesterday was the best we had encountered! They were helpful and knowledgeable and the best we have encountered! From the box staff to the front! Perfection!

However once I had the reservation complete and went to look at the shed it's self, every time I slid the door lever on my 5 x 5 shed the alarm would go off. Happened 2 X, I went to the office, did my code right there on the keypad in the office, got confirmation I was doing it right and the alarm STILL went off the 3rd time when I went to the shed. Not upset, just sharing information.

The one disappointment was a security feature, even though the doors automatically open for loading and unloading, you have to walk down the side of the building to be granted true access to your unit. I found that out the hard way when I unlocked my unit and the alarm went off. Other locations use a card that can be swiped, this location is a manual input for access. Other than a minor inconvenience, everyone was very pleasant, I got a great unit location and it's close to home!

Would have been a $2300 dollar rental, you've LOST that business now. I'll spend more money renting a Penske truck just to not give you any more business

I had to pay for the lock and thats it. Before, they gave me a card and I could access the facility after hrs with no issue. Now they only give you a access code. Now that I want to rent a unit only the representative stated I "have to" have the unit on auto pay but that doesn't seem to be true as I watched her click the auto pay option on the computer......... Also, they required my house insurance policy information if not I would have to pay an additional $7+ monthly. How I pay and if I want insurance on my unit should be my choice. Just frustrated because I didn't go through this before with the prior representative I had at the location.

Margarita M | Overall ExperienceOnly problem I encountered was when I was trying to rent a truck from several locations here in Florida as well as in California every time you reserve a truck you most likely will get something other than what you reserved or you would have to go to another location or are they just plain didn’t have it which in turn result into me having to rent a larger truck for more money. I suggest you double check the trucks before allowing a reservation to be made or if a customer has to get something larger/more costly, then compensate them in price or mileage.

Alissa and the other young lady we're compassionate about their situation and try to accommodate them as much as possible. They were able to extend the rental truck. They have an elevator to access up to the second floor but currently it’s not in service because of waiting for parts. I had a 20” truck full of boxes and some furniture. I felt that it was very inconvenient to off load the truck and have to walk my items up the two flights of stairs.I was hoping they would offer some kind of incentive for the inconvenience like maybe give me a discount off my first month.It actually took 2 more hours longer than estimated to finish unloading the truck.I hope that they can have a better system planned out in case this problem happens again and prevent the inconvenience.

It was out of order at least twice that I know of in the 3 months I had large, heavy furniture there. The day after I had professional movers there I went back to close my unit/lease to find the elevator out of order again. Had that happened the day before there would have been a major problem with my move, it would have been unsafe for the movers and would have added several hours to the cost of my move, that's IF they would have attempted to move my furniture. They really need a second elevator for that building! Other than that, it was a wonderful experience. Friendly helpful staff and a very clean environment!

Was forcibly made to reserve three days instead of the one I needed and still haven’t received a refund for those days. The pickup delay costs me $100 with the movers that were already at my home waiting. When I arrived to Lakeland, the facility code was not working, I asked for a unit that reflected the need of the uhaul truck and was given a unit smaller than a dressing room. Had to keep truck another day because the manager’s emergency phone line listed in the elevator was going to voicemail without an option to leave a voicemail and the Uhaul call center line was looping a message about being open before disconnecting (for all options!). The next morning I came in after speaking with a rep about changing to a larger unit. I checked in at the counter and was charged despite expressing that the unit was supposed to be free. I also lost money that was non refundable to have movers come the first day to help unpack the truck ($300) because the unit was too small. All in all, I wasted $400 on movers because the uhaul delays and mess ups PLUS the monies charged for the extra day I had the uhaul AND the being charged for the storage space that was supposed to be free.

Wen up and again we were assigned a unit already in use. Went down again to get another one va employee met us and looked for an open one. All this took an extra 1 1/2 hour and we had a big full truck to unload. By then getting late and disaster. The truck had leaked likely on day 1 of 6 on our way to Florida from Minnesota and our beautiful 55 inch Sony Bravia 2 yr old TV was soaked and ruined as well as our beautiful area rug we paid over $500 at Macy’s was soaked and after 6 days mold started. Ruined. A very nice employee was found there and helped with all the soaked packing and checked the truck. We took lots of pictures of the truck and packing and TV and rug. HORRIBLE. . Our TV cost us over $2000. A claim has been filed as the leaky truck caused all the damages.

Still 5 stars, as the unit and entire facility is very well kept. We feel as though our few little things are super safe.

Jonathan P | Overall ExperienceI hired movers to move into my unit on 6-12-2021 and could not move in because I had a climate control unit located on the second floor and the entire building only had one elevator and it was broken preventing me from moving in but forcing me to pay for the unit for fear of losing it. I was not able to move in to the unit until Monday, June 14, 2021 when I found out at 7 AM that the elevator had been fixed. This delayed my move in for two days which affected the closing time on my house which had to be pushed back because of this. I have rented from U-Haul for decades and never had this happen. No other unit was available at any other location locally. The staff offered to let me move into a unit on the bottom floor until the elevator was fixed and then move to the second floor. My movers were charging me $170 an hour and this would’ve caused a double Move in. What an absolute nightmare!

Edison T | Online Move InDespite offering 24 hour access through the website and promotional materials, no where does it mention the restriction that it is for businesses only. Apparently that was a recent change, but I would not have booked everything online and paid if I had known I had to show a business license to get the 24/h access. When I went inside to make a change to my reservation, and about getting the 24/h access on my account, they fixed the first thing, never answered the 2nd and then just checked me out without any mention of the 24/h access until I asked about it again and only then was I told no. As a new small business owner just starting out during this pandemic I think there should be better communication from the website to the actual store. Especially when so much of the advertising mentions 24/h access despite it only being offered for a very select few.

Granted the ladies at the front desk were awesome but someone from another office canceled my reservation as I was trying to pay for it. Reason why the process took so long. My initial reservation was less in cost with the insurance and roadside service. The reservation I currently have now is much more excluding the insurance and roadside assistance.

First my number was called to verify that I gave them a working number ( felt not trusted then) then I was asked for another number and that number was also called, then I was asked for another number and that number was also called. After being a customer for over a year with no payment issues I felt this could have been avoided. I expressed my feelings about this and I understand policy. I was asked in this survey so I responded. As you can see I submitted all great scores. Just the multiple phone numbers requested and calling them was getting me just a little ticked.

Our movers were two days later getting out stuff out of the facility and Glorie worked with us one allowing the extra time without penalty. We were between a rock and hard place and she acted in a manner that took that pressure off our move. We are grateful for her handling the situation. She was great to work with and is great asset to U-haul.

Your mistake. Then I was given a smaller storage space for $59.95 which should of been given to me in the beginning. I am going to remove my belongings because according to my new statement I was not due until 07/20/20 or 07/27/20. I very disappointed with your service this far and I have used it before in the past. I want my money back and will pass by your office tomorrow. Stop the auto pay also.

I immediately removed my property and demanded a refund. The manager (Powell) agreed to refund my money and told me he had issued a refund , however I still have not recieved the funds on my credit card.
