SILVIA HI rented a U-Haul van today and encountered an issue right after pickup. When I stopped at a gas station, I noticed that the gas tank lid was missing. I filled the tank and immediately called your office, then returned to the location to find a solution. Although the team replaced the lid within about 40 minutes, during that time fuel was evaporating, and the dashboard reflected the loss. This caused unnecessary inconvenience and additional fuel cost right at the start of my rental. I would appreciate it if you could review this situation to prevent similar issues for other customers in the future.

Michelle MAnswering the phone at their own location. One time I received a central Lower Mnld location but even they could not forward me back to PM location, but did reach out via their internal system to have one minor issue amended re final bill. Ensure *you* check the gas tank when you get in *on premise*, I was told it was half a tank I went 2 city blocks and saw it was a quarter. I pulled over to take an image and to try to call back to the office. I did receive, the whole time, outstanding service via the central USA call centre I must say. They really were outstanding and I am glad jobs with Uhaul are being kept *on shore* from all the various calls I made pre and post rental. PM site needs more people *in office* as only 1 person, whom was totally good, but it was a long weekend and a Sunday so the owners need to have way more people in the office. If people do not pre organize their move online then i.e. I chose to do paperwork in office, there would have been a much longer wait. Many people need help with boxes-supplies then people wanted hitches so installation and paperwork needed time. Lots of services means more in office staff are required. There are many pple that do *not* want to use on line as much as all that is pushed upon us all in all. Front facing staff needed on site at busiest times - weekends-stats in summer especially end - beg. of a month when there is en masse moves in the cities alone. The cargo van I had was outstanding, newer, definitely. Steering -pick up and go speed - backup cam in rearview mirror. Side mirrors were feet + double style and electronically able to be altered. Remember new cargo vans are about 7 ft 2 and do not fit under the traditionally older generation 6ft 8 clearances widely popular. I do not care about if a van is clean outside, as it is summer it is critical to save water. Just be sure always to ensure that any mud etc is not covering damage - dents that you may miss. I support that this location is not wasting water to ensure the fleet is sparkling white. Inside the van was all fine and no smells.

JASON MPickup was very easy. The app is excellent. No hassles at all. Dropoff was just as easy. Friendly staff in both Port Moody and Kamloops.
CHAD GI recently rented a 15' truck for 4 hours with insurance and was charged a total of $152.77. Upon reviewing the bill, I noticed I was charged for 2 full days—2x the truck rental fee and 2x the insurance. This seemed odd since I picked up the truck on the 31st around 11 AM and returned it around 3 PM the same day. We spoke with customer service, and thankfully, the receptionist was incredibly helpful and assisted us in getting a refund of $46.75. I truly appreciate her support—she was supportive and efficient. Also she said sometimes the system does this because of a glitch. Please fix this glitches in the system. While the equipment and overall experience were great, the unexpected double charge was quite disappointing. If we hadn't double-checked, we would have lost almost $50. I hope this issue is looked into to prevent similar situations for future customers.

Cyrille BAfter my first rental was not available, I was sent to this location for a 7:30 am pick up time. When I arrived, they told me I couldn't even sit at the desk until 7:40 am. At this point I am already 3 hrs behind on moving. When I was finally able to sit at the desk and get the truck, we went out to look for it and it wasn't there! We spent 10 minutes looking for It and it wasn't even on the property. I was told I would get a discount for the issues that had been happening (free use of blankets too) and none of this happened. I then went into the office, and they finally found another truck. I am now almost 4 hrs behind moving schedule. I asked them to use a certain credit card to charge the amount to, which they did not do. They actually went into my bank account and took the money, when I specifically asked them not to! I was supposed to be charged $179.70 for the rental and then kilometers. I drove 17.5 kilometers, which was $36.02. I was charged a coverage charge of $96.00 which I did not approve or ask for. I was then charged $311.72 for the rental and an additional $60 for the blankets (which were supposed to free) Then factor in the taxes and I was charged a total of $415.20. How does a $179.70 rental with the kilometers I drove equal $415. 20? I am wanting $175.50 returned to my bank account that U-Haul took out without permission and with specific instructions and detail of where to take payment from. Eric KThe pick-up and drop-off location is way too crowded and busy. I had to wait 20 minutes in line to pick up the truck. The return process is questionable, as there was a messy area with 8+ large trucks and 1 worker trying to process them. So you just find somewhere to park and hand over the key to a worker who seemed overwhelmed and not helpful with answering questions.
RICHARD MThe rear view mirrors (especially the passenger side) were out of alignment. The passenger side was completely out of alignment (useless in other words). I did not realize this when getting the vehicle because it was tightly parked next to other trucks on the lot, which obfuscated my viewing for alignment. Later I attempted adjusting the mirror to get a better alignment but the mirror was stuck in the unaligned position. I couldn't move the mirror. This is a safety concern because you can't see traffic merging in from the right nor see traffic on the right when making a lane change to the right. This needs to be remedied before renting the truck out again.
MARK GLooks like the people inspecting the vehicles were short staffed. They were good fast and efficient but need more people to help customers

SHAWN WI paid CAD 148 for the smallest 4x8 enclosed trailer from Chetwynd to Vancouver (which I consider it is a fair price). But to pay CAD 436 for the same trailer from Vancouver to Chetwynd is just crazy, and it was even worse when the lady at the counter told me that the company could even reject my request. My thoughts: -Looks like UHaul has a monopoly in this segment. -Competition is always good for balancing prices and quality.

THIAGO CFriendly and efficient. First time using the app so was a bit unfamiliar with the process. It was a little different than what was explained on the website and the app seemed to have frozen. I needed to stop amd restart the app and it worked. The app expected me to take photos of the truck to ensure the condition of it before driving away. However, where the truck was parked did not allow me to take a photo of the entire truck from each side the gas was only a quarter tank so had to immediately add gas. Would have been nice to just go and load up rather than trying to figure out how much gas to put in sine it is to be returned with the same amount of gas that I started with. Other than that, the return process was a simple drop off, the staff did his thing, and I was done within 5 minutes. Overall a good experience.

trevor sThe service was excellent. Im not sure if the motor was running rough or this type of truck is just a lot stiffer and louder than a car. It operated just fine. Just needed more pressure on the brakes. No complaints, just not sure about the extra engine sound.

Your voice messaging one of the representatives will be with you shortly but no one is picking up. July 15, 2025 Tuesday and 5:43pm and I have been waiting for 15 mins. After service is none existent and I am asked to rate my experience. Here it is.

TODD IThe Trailer was VERY dirty and had a missing blinker, that later produced an error in the panel of my vehicle. I'm glad I took pictures of everything before departing because the U-Haul employee at the returning point questioned me about the issues which where clear upon a simple visual inspection. In general I have no issues with the employees, but this experience was well below my expectations. I had no accidents but releasing equipment in this condition should raise a major internal red flag.

KENNETH FReturning the trailer at Barnet Highway Coquitlam was a bad experience. 2 men at the location unhooked the trailer and were well aware the car was on, we mentioned about the car and there could have been a language barrier because they said it was ok to leave on. they put a small piece of wood as a wheel stop then told us to move the truck and take the car off. Without the support of the truck, the trailer instantly tipped when we tried to remove the car and the trailer tipped and started sliding with the car on it. My husband quickly reversed off to stop the trailer rolling and I ran in front to stop it hitting another truck parked on the lot. The 2 men came over then blamed us for the car being left on the trailer when they are the ones who unhooked it! And they could clearly see the car still on the trailer! We followed their advice and actions then were blamed for the event happening, if it wasn't for our quick thinking it would have been significantly worse with damage to property and injuries to multiple people. It was not a great experience. Returning the truck later than day we were helped by another team member who was more efficient and easy to work with.

George L | Overall ExperienceHorrible experience had to store my personal items due to restoration work and a week before I had to take my stuff they were flooded by rain apparently not the first time. My unit was the worst hit. When I paid for unit I was never told of this incident or asked if I wanted to purchase insurance. I also recently received a notice advising the price of the unit is going up. Now we wait they said I can only choose to get refunded or go through claims. That is so wrong I should get refunded and also be able to submit claim for items damaged.

I notice other staff members seek her out for guidance as well. She seems like a great leader. The bad: it’s very hard to access the storage unit. There were often uboxes being stored in the loading bay and the neighbouring business block the road most days. On more than one occasion staff from the business next door were in their car, parked in the storage loading bay having lunch.

maryellen t | Overall ExperienceI was very upset when i had originally reserved the storage as i was moving down from north vancouver island 8 hours away and had reserved the storage at the smae time as the truck weeks before. When i finally got to the storage facility i was told my storage reservation was taken by another customer. I was confused because i had RESERVED it and then after driving 8 hours and nowhere else to take my things i was told it was first come first serve. So i dont understand what the point of reserving was. They originally were going to let me just walk away with nothing i had to ASK if there were other units available. Which there were but not the size i reserved so i needed to get a bigger one at a more expensive rate. THEN they were not going to honor my first free month from my original RESERVATION because i was taking a different unit. Eventually everything got sorted but was a hugely unnecessary added stress to my move. I did reccommend my friend NOT to choose uhaul for their storage and moving needs because i did not want them to go through the same thing i did. They chose a different company and it went smooth with zero issues. Unfortunate.

None of them could help me and said they would find out and get back to me by the end of the day. None of them called me back. I then emailed the GM of the uhaul about the matter. That took 3+ emails to get a reply. At which after being a customer for 3+ years, I wasn't allowed to have a prorated amount for 7 additional days for the storage. It was just a "sorry, that is policy" without thinking about the customer. After all this, I even saw a uhaul rental hit an employees vehicle and let them know about it. Not looking for the world, just a little help.

Upon arriving atthe uhaul storange unit to offload everything i was told my reserved unit was gone because it was taken by another customer. I did not understand as I had reserved the unit for the day i arrived and the was told it was first come first serve. I have never in my life heard of a reservation being first come first serve. I was very upset and they offered a bigger, more expensive unit because all the units of size i had reserved were gone. Then they said i would not get my first month free because it was not my original reservation. I did eventually get them to do it but it was alot of unnecessary added stress to an already long stressful day of moving and driving.

I do not remember her name at this moment, but is a blond short hair lady and she was always smiling, new the system and process very well, and provided very quick help when and I needed, and every time we cross paths in the storage area she was saying good day! Unfortunately due some changes in my finance, needed to close my two accounts, but if I needed again, will go this U-haul location and hope she is there to provide the same exceptional service.

Sina H | Online Move InThe storage facility was at the far back when I requested one that I could drive up to, and when I sent my driver there he was told I didn't have a storage locker there , so that created unnecessary stress . Then I called about getting some guys to load and unload and these guys subcontract for uhaul . They are not professional. They didn't seem to know how to load and pack properly. Constantly checking their watch , and they just got dropped off . So they had no car and my driver was upset that on a hot sunny day he had to share the front of the truck with 2 hot sweaty guys. No where did I agree to transport these guys .. they just assumed . That was rude and annoying . Because of their lack of knowledge it costed me 2 extra hrs , a lamp, and I needed to move the rest of my things to another storage locker , costings me anadded $400 for 2mths . They broke a very expensive hand painted lamp and just threw my stuff in the locker and piacked heavy things on top of breakable things. I'm very disappointed with the company that uhaul supplied me with for loading and loading . Never again !

I has a friend driving the truck so his time was valuable as I was paying him he got there and was told there was no storage available ...that was awful and very upsetting. He then drove to sentinel storage which was closed for lunch then he called me to ask where I'd like him to go .I also had hired moving helpers thru uhaul via select movers. Also getting paid by the hour. I told him to go back to uhaul , I sent him reservation # ..and I had to stop what I was doing ..I had cleaners, plumbers, etc on my end . And only to be told I had to do something online. My internet was canceled, computer packed, my phone was in a dead zone area and I got very upset because all the info I gave 2 weeks prior was what he asked me for . I.m still upset. Then they gave them a locker on 2nd floor with stairs when I booked a ground floor . Just a gong show a whole hour wasted and costed me $ 200. Extra that made my experience with uhaul not good I'm still very angry. Then select moving sent 2 guys..not professional movers, I couldn't understand them . They didn't know how to pack well and then I needed a 3rd storage locker and after the horrible experience I ended up booking one at sentinel over the phone in 10min and done, but .also costed me another 200 plus these guys from select movers didn't pack the locker well either and the driver called me to say it might not all fit in here..these guys don't know what they are doing and move at a snails pace . Me and 2 girlfriends had to do a lot of work to help speed up the process and so we had to help them with packing tips and they didn't want to listen at my end but we got them to fit in more things they were just going to leave .I saw lots of wasted space , then thankgod my friend got in the locker and shuffled things around and it all fit ,I'm not impressed at all with moving company and the guys they sent out, they were more concerned about the time than working and costing me another 2 hrs of time and money plus extra locker

From beginning to end she was kind and helpful in making our storage needs a seamless experience. I would have rated 5 all the way except the last day the automatic exterior lights weren't working... it was the only time it happened and the staff was looking into the problem immediately. Additionally, access to the storage units from outside was tight a few times due to lots of parked cars and trucks but we managed regardless. Overall this was a great experience and I highly recommend uhaul storage.
Regina K | Overall ExperienceThe adjacent Honda dealership filled up the shared lane with vehicles stacked multiple levels deep every day, and U Haul trucks were often parked on the other side. This left very little space to maneuver a vehicle, load, unload, etc. Rental truck receiving area was often clogged with trucks coming in, completely blocking the storage unit access. I voiced my concern to two different managers, nothing was done. Access to the storage units was also restricted or blocked completely during a construction project on the Skytrain line (now completed), which made it extremely difficult to load/unload. No compensation, advance warning was provided, nor was there an apology forthcoming for the inconvenience . Waiting for counter service was very slow. Not uncommon to stand in line for 20+ minutes to speak with someone. Staff was friendly, many of the complaints were out of their control (except for the Manager).
