KIERAN MThe yard was well organized but there was a line up of people trying to pick up their various trucks and trailers. There was a common theme amongst many of us that had issues with the online system making the check-in process longer at site. Anything that could be done to help minimize the wait time to pick up equipment would be appreciated.
BRUCE CThere was only 1 person in the yard when I returned the trailer and he was tied up with a line up of other customers. When I went into your office and lined up to ask if the girl could call someone to help me. Then another customer who was in the other line up said he was first and it became an uncomfortable situation. I think that you need to address the order of service of your customers and make it clear to everyone. It seems that you don't have enough staff.
Brian LI showed up on the scheduled date, but there was no communication from them whatsoever. I went there on the agreed date, but they sent me back, saying the hitch parts hadn't arrived. Two weeks later, I received a phone call informing me that the parts had finally come in. I had a 9:00 a.m. appointment, and I arrived early at 8:40 a.m., but they just kept telling me to wait. When it was 9:00, I reminded them of my appointment time, but they continued to tell me to wait without any further explanation. Eventually, I lost my patience, and it wasn't until after 9:40 a.m. that they finally started taking action. The installation on my car didn't begin until around 9:45 a.m. and took approximately 38 minutes to complete. There wasn’t even a proper waiting area, so the whole experience was very exhausting and unpleasant for me.
jaae kNot a fault on the part of the depot - in general it would be nice to have overall outside dimensions of the trailers. I needed to know if the trailer was over or under 7' tall and that information was not available on the website.
SEAN CI had to drive 1 hour outside my pickup time as the trailer I reserved was not availabke at a local store. Also,I was charged a $50 fee upon returning a trailer for "missing equipment". All I rented was the trailer. Your Meridian trail store is ripping people off.

BARRY YProvide clear instructions on where to return equipment. Upon completing my rental transaction, the U-Haul employee instructed me to return the trailer to the location where I picked it up. I returned a trailer after hours, and placed it exactly where I was instructed to leave it. Unhitched the trailer, coiled the electrical wires neatly on top of the trailer tongue and pushed it into the location where I picked it up, then chocked the wheels so it wouldn't roll into the drive aisle. I received a call from the store the next afternoon asking if I had returned the trailer. When I explained that I followed their instructions, the person on the phone rudely talked over me, insisting that I should have been returned it to the 'return area'. This has happened to me before. Ever since this store changed ownership, the customer service has been poor at best. Always under-staffed and despite having pre-booked the equipment and time, filling out my information online, the time needed to organize the rental paperwork and hook up the equipment is always 20 - 30 minutes or more, even when the store is not busy. I rent from this location several times a year because it is close to home. I just wish they would focus more on customer service than on saving a few bucks on staffing this location.

KIAN SWhen I was given the keys I was given confusing instructions on where to find the truck. The agent helping me then disappeared to help someone else. I did manage to find the truck but I had to move some equipment that was blocking the driveway to get it out. The agent who is helping me also argued with me over what equipment was in my contract instead of checking the contract and that created extra stress. The staff here seem overwhelmed and stressed out. I don't hold anything against staff because I could see that they were trying to help too many customers at once. In spite of all this it took me an entire hour to get checked in. I will definitely avoid using U-Haul in the future because of this experience

My privacy feels violated and I’m exhausted from these junk companies making up requirements that are not consistent elsewhere. When your junk system is hacked and all my information is stolen, will you compensate for this, or just send out an apology letter. Typically the latter occurs. I will not use UHaul again. I would rather a different company like Budget to rent a vehicle from.

Timothy GMake the self-service more clear. I thought it was going to be easy but ended up having to wait in line only to have to do the same thing anyways. Seems to be no difference if it's self-service or counter. I cannot for the life of me understand the reference thing, it was pointless, time consuming and frustrating. I can rent a house or luxury car but to rent a uhaul I need a reference that is not well vetted anyway.... None of the supplies were in the uhaul, less than a quarter tank of gas and check engine light on. The staff were trying to be as helpful as possible and they were trying their best but it's the system and not them. I ended up being over an hour late due to having to wait in line and dealing with all the issues. App doesn't work properly apparently, a worker let me know to use the website instead due to this. Didn't receive the vehicle check text until 15 minutes after I got the keys and was already en route.

SEBASTIAN HI rented a truck and trailer. They were busy so they were working really hard to help everyone. Need better system if taking so many reservations for the same time as everyone had 9 am reservation and 10 am we were still waiting in line.
BAIRAM LI made my order but someone called me you must come to Barnet location otherwise you have to cancel your reservation. The initial booking area was closed to me and I should waste my time in my moving day and I should pay for extra mileage. It was ridiculous.

David Hpoor storage location. To upload or download stuffs to storage takes too much detour. The main entrance gate was way too far. Used move/out feature from the app, but it didnt work. it say its in pending “waiting for uhaul employee to check the storage” then it never happened. i waited roughly 6 days then I had to walked into the Uhaul to completed move-out process.

My unit was the worst hit. When I paid for unit I was never told of this incident or asked if I wanted to purchase insurance. I also recently received a notice advising the price of the unit is going up. Now we wait they said I can only choose to get refunded or go through claims. That is so wrong I should get refunded and also be able to submit claim for items damaged.

On more than one occasion staff from the business next door were in their car, parked in the storage loading bay having lunch.

When i finally got to the storage facility i was told my storage reservation was taken by another customer. I was confused because i had RESERVED it and then after driving 8 hours and nowhere else to take my things i was told it was first come first serve. So i dont understand what the point of reserving was. They originally were going to let me just walk away with nothing i had to ASK if there were other units available. Which there were but not the size i reserved so i needed to get a bigger one at a more expensive rate. THEN they were not going to honor my first free month from my original RESERVATION because i was taking a different unit. Eventually everything got sorted but was a hugely unnecessary added stress to my move. I did reccommend my friend NOT to choose uhaul for their storage and moving needs because i did not want them to go through the same thing i did. They chose a different company and it went smooth with zero issues. Unfortunate.

None of them could help me and said they would find out and get back to me by the end of the day. None of them called me back. I then emailed the GM of the uhaul about the matter. That took 3+ emails to get a reply. At which after being a customer for 3+ years, I wasn't allowed to have a prorated amount for 7 additional days for the storage. It was just a "sorry, that is policy" without thinking about the customer. After all this, I even saw a uhaul rental hit an employees vehicle and let them know about it. Not looking for the world, just a little help.

Upon arriving atthe uhaul storange unit to offload everything i was told my reserved unit was gone because it was taken by another customer. I did not understand as I had reserved the unit for the day i arrived and the was told it was first come first serve. I have never in my life heard of a reservation being first come first serve. I was very upset and they offered a bigger, more expensive unit because all the units of size i had reserved were gone. Then they said i would not get my first month free because it was not my original reservation. I did eventually get them to do it but it was alot of unnecessary added stress to an already long stressful day of moving and driving.

Sina H | Online Move InThe storage facility was at the far back when I requested one that I could drive up to, and when I sent my driver there he was told I didn't have a storage locker there , so that created unnecessary stress . Then I called about getting some guys to load and unload and these guys subcontract for uhaul . They are not professional. They didn't seem to know how to load and pack properly. Constantly checking their watch , and they just got dropped off . So they had no car and my driver was upset that on a hot sunny day he had to share the front of the truck with 2 hot sweaty guys. No where did I agree to transport these guys .. they just assumed . That was rude and annoying . Because of their lack of knowledge it costed me 2 extra hrs , a lamp, and I needed to move the rest of my things to another storage locker , costings me anadded $400 for 2mths . They broke a very expensive hand painted lamp and just threw my stuff in the locker and piacked heavy things on top of breakable things. I'm very disappointed with the company that uhaul supplied me with for loading and loading . Never again !

I has a friend driving the truck so his time was valuable as I was paying him he got there and was told there was no storage available ...that was awful and very upsetting. He then drove to sentinel storage which was closed for lunch then he called me to ask where I'd like him to go .I also had hired moving helpers thru uhaul via select movers. Also getting paid by the hour. I told him to go back to uhaul , I sent him reservation # ..and I had to stop what I was doing ..I had cleaners, plumbers, etc on my end . And only to be told I had to do something online. My internet was canceled, computer packed, my phone was in a dead zone area and I got very upset because all the info I gave 2 weeks prior was what he asked me for . I.m still upset. Then they gave them a locker on 2nd floor with stairs when I booked a ground floor . Just a gong show a whole hour wasted and costed me $ 200. Extra that made my experience with uhaul not good I'm still very angry. Then select moving sent 2 guys..not professional movers, I couldn't understand them . They didn't know how to pack well and then I needed a 3rd storage locker and after the horrible experience I ended up booking one at sentinel over the phone in 10min and done, but .also costed me another 200 plus these guys from select movers didn't pack the locker well either and the driver called me to say it might not all fit in here..these guys don't know what they are doing and move at a snails pace . Me and 2 girlfriends had to do a lot of work to help speed up the process and so we had to help them with packing tips and they didn't want to listen at my end but we got them to fit in more things they were just going to leave .I saw lots of wasted space , then thankgod my friend got in the locker and shuffled things around and it all fit ,I'm not impressed at all with moving company and the guys they sent out, they were more concerned about the time than working and costing me another 2 hrs of time and money plus extra locker

From beginning to end she was kind and helpful in making our storage needs a seamless experience. I would have rated 5 all the way except the last day the automatic exterior lights weren't working... it was the only time it happened and the staff was looking into the problem immediately. Additionally, access to the storage units from outside was tight a few times due to lots of parked cars and trucks but we managed regardless. Overall this was a great experience and I highly recommend uhaul storage.
Regina K | Overall ExperienceThe adjacent Honda dealership filled up the shared lane with vehicles stacked multiple levels deep every day, and U Haul trucks were often parked on the other side. This left very little space to maneuver a vehicle, load, unload, etc. Rental truck receiving area was often clogged with trucks coming in, completely blocking the storage unit access. I voiced my concern to two different managers, nothing was done. Access to the storage units was also restricted or blocked completely during a construction project on the Skytrain line (now completed), which made it extremely difficult to load/unload. No compensation, advance warning was provided, nor was there an apology forthcoming for the inconvenience . Waiting for counter service was very slow. Not uncommon to stand in line for 20+ minutes to speak with someone. Staff was friendly, many of the complaints were out of their control (except for the Manager).
