I cannot remember the name of the gentleman who helped us, but he was great. Took the time to make sure we were getting the best rate on our one-way rental. Plus, he took the time to explain everything to us. Would absolutely rent from this location again.

KWAKU ADrop off was not pleasant. Rude attendant who yelled the instructions from a mile away. I had to wait blocking the entrance because the line was not moved even though there was only one truck they needed to be pulled forward to make space. They’re chitchatting while I was waiting. Not pleasant at all.

JACQUELINE VWe had the reservation for 6 am. The 24/7 QR code was non operational. You scanned the code, logged in, clicked pick up. Then prompted you to log in. And doom looped from there. I couldn’t pick up the truck until they opened at 9 am. Horrible system you have.

FREDERICK RThere was one person there handling everyone. The online app never worked correctly for me and it took a long time to check in. The van was very dirty and wet. The low tire indicator was on and the door was hard to close properly. It would be much better if you had more staff and a way to maintain the trucks you offer. I have rented from U-Haul for more than 40 years and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. Please get rid of your app. Too many steps, too confusing.

The bottle was empty but if I didn't check before leaving I could have been blamed for it, that made me feel a little unsafe that the van wasn't completely searched before i got it.

Had trouble with my phone connecting to the website. The associates there were very helpful and on time to get the desired outcome 10 out of 10 from me.

RANDOLPH ACustomer service at the location was very poor - my check in was not processing and there was no assistance. Eventually (40 minutes later!!) I was somewhat registered (had to use the phone of the person working there), and given a key to a van and told to go find it. I could not find it and had to go get help again, and it turned out the van was frozen in ice on back of lot. A second van was given to me, but the inspection photos wouldn't load, so I had to leave without registering them. Nothing was explained to me, I only knew what to do based on my past experiences.
Haley MI dont like the technology of it all. Just prefer to come have someone else input the information. My phone was on less than 18%. Just needed the rental for like 4 hours!

BOB HI didn’t get the hand truck or pad I thought it was in the vehicle it was deducted how ever that was the raggedy vehicle I ever rented the door had been damaged you open it it sounded like it was coming off , pressure light on, on the dash it was saying put air in left tire, the staff said it was checked, I was very uncomfortable driving it, sounded like it need a tune up , mash on the gas it acted like it didnt want to go however the two ladies were very nice and professional very pleasant personality made me feel welcomed. Service your vehicles I’d the door on drivers side is dented in don’t rent it out I’m full figure I had to open it wide and it sounded like it was going to break

LAMONT WTo be frank, the truck i received was very old and it drove like it. It had over 166,000 miles. The truck was clean but old. However, i give this location (Blandensburg Rd, Washington, DC) a 10 out of 10 because of the Staff!! Everyone i encountered there was extremely helpful, friendly and kind. In this day and age, that is rare, rare, rare!! But, the star of the staff was the young black woman from Philadelphia. She was beyond amazing, beyond helpful, and beyond, beyond kind!!! I am 75 years old, and i have rented from U-Haul all over this city. I have never encountered a staff as kind and helpful as this one, and the young black woman from Philadelphia - there are no words!! Thank you, thank you!!! Ronny B. Lancaster
Ronny LExperienced several issues with the online process during check-in. Staff kept directing me to solve these problems online and seemed to be either unable or unwilling to help me resolve the issues in person. The issue in question was that I had an out of state driver's license (in Washington D.C. of all places) and therefore needed a secondary validation either via having my passport (which I don't carry), my employer (it's a Saturday), a copy of my lease (which I don't have) or an alternate contact. I rented 3 trucks in 2024 and never had to go through this process, and always had very pleasant experiences with U-Haul and their customer service. In this case, it took me 3 attempts with the online system (which kept timing out, even though U-Haul's "chat with agent" function often took several minutes to get back to me). This situation was finally resolved when I requested a call, got a live human being on the phone (kudos to her, she was great) and they were able to release my vehicle. Again, I'm not sure if this process could have been resolved by the human being sitting in front of me the whole time while I struggled through this, but it sure seems like if that person is being paid to be there, they could at the very least be more helpful if they were given access to dispatch the vehicles on site. Otherwise, it's going to give off the aura of ambivalence with great damage to your brand and reputation.

Edward SI rented this U-haul truck through self service check-out which is more convenient for me, and although the process was efficient and effective, I encountered problems when the truck was not in the designated areas "(circled in yellow)" on the self check-out instructions where I was to retrieve the truck; And when I proceeded to ask one of the U-Haul employee, the male employee appeared delusional and first requested that I give him the access code to retrieve the key from the key box "even though I was asking him where the truck was because it was not in either of the designated location circled in yellow on the self check-out instructions; It wasn't until after he insisted that I give him the key code that he was able to tell me that the truck was located behind the U-haul store "and of which was not in the designated location where it was supposed to be." I found the situation to be very awkward and unusual. Moreover, there was a black van that appeared to belong to one of the employee and was blocking the entrance from where I was to retrieve the truck behind the U-haul store which was hard for me to squeeze out making sure not to scratch either of the car.

JOHN KI had not rented a truck in years so i needed help. The man at the desk explained to me that they don't do counter check-in anymore he still was very helpful. He helped me with my rental and I was out the door in no time. When I returned the truck I could not find my rent email so the another employee help me with my return. Everyone at this location is very polite and helpful.

Kenneth MWhile the UHAUL 1750 Blandensburg Rd personnel and location was great, I was surprised by a charge from this center for Speeding citation $130 after 6+ months from rental completion. Really suspicious of the validity of the citation. If true, why did UHAUL take that long. ? Anything over 90days is not a valid claim.

Aislinn SThe Bladensburg store is great, close to my house, and convenient. However, the U-Haul app/check-in is horrible. I actively opted out of contactless check-in because I've done it before and it was a bad experience. The app has connectivity issues and it is always impossible to easily upload the photos. Plus, moving is already stressful, it's not "more convenient" for me to do the damage check. If I say I want to check-in with a staff person I shouldn't have to upload my ID to the app, take pictures of the truck, etc.

Tim K | First ImpressionsThe proffesionalism and kindness of the staff varied based on their mood. Getting started was a nightmare yet pressed for time I stayed there. The storage units there are the back halves of older 10ft trucks placed side by side. Being kept outside I should have been able to have 24 access. I am sure the manager tried her best but this location was the location for extra trucks. There is no customer parking available yet they managed to fill every inch with a truck. First few times I had to request to have a truck removed from infront of my storage unit. After that, they avoided parking one infront of my unit. I made it a point to have everyting out within my 30 days. I refused to pay close to $200.00 a month with the service and inconvenience I was put thru. My leaving seemed to have made everyone happy including myself. Again, I am sure the manager did her best. The individual that opened my account was the worst. She showed no signs of wanting to help me. But had no issues helping others that came in after me. I wanted to F******** scream. The guys at this location seemed much more accomidating, friendlier, and very helpful I wish I had gotten names. Not that it matters I hope to never have to go back there again.
