The person who checked me in was very professional and very courteous and answered all of my questions. He was also very polite to everyone that called the store while I was standing there. I don't know what his name is, but he is the face of your business, so please treat him well. It would be such a shame if you lost that guy. Honestly.

Overall, experience was first rate. The only glitch was that I was charged for an after hours return, when actually I returned at the start of business hours, and stayed with vehicle per instructions on sign until a rep approached & processed me. When I got the emailed receipt and saw the charge, I immediately called & the phone rep immediately refunded my credit card. So, the error was promptly & politely resolved, but even better if it had not happened.

I was extremely frustrated with the location of my moving truck. I had requested a location nextdoor to the apartment I was moving into a week ahead of time and was guaranteed that the truck would be available at that location. The morning of, I arrived at my expected location and was informed that my order had been switched to a different location, without any prior notice to me by email or text. It not only took away from the limited time I had available at the loading dock that I needed to move (thus leading to rushed moving of furniture and damaging of some of my property), but it also added onto the milage I had to drive (thus increasing the total price I had to pay). Due to the coronavirus, I do not currently have an income and these damages to my property and extra milage charges were extremely frustrating. I do not plan to return to uhaul for my future moving needs.

To start my reservation location was changed the day before pick up to a location almost 13 miles out of my way. They stated they did not have the 26” truck anywhere but the DC location. Then when I arrived to pick up my reserved vehicle the rep stated they don't have a one way 26” truck & that I had to downsize to a 20” truck. I was pissed due to the fact I called days prior to downsize the truck and they stated it would actually cost me more, so I kept my reservation at the 26” truck. I kept my cool and went along with the 20” truck. Moving along to equipment I pre ordered. They had almost NO equipment left. I had to settle for what they had which was a even more inconvenience. I was also pre-charged almost $80 more than what the rep told me in store. The worst experience and I will not be a returning customer.

Clearly state that any equipment besides truck needs to be picked up separately. Mobile pickup is not really very functional, especially in the COVID pandemic, if I have to go interact with multiple people to get a handtruck, dollies, and packing blankets.

Scheduling: U-haul initially gave me a pickup location that didn't even deal in trailers. I found out only when I called the location to confirm. When I called I learned that the trailer wouldn't be available. I called customer service and only after asking to speak to a supervisor did I learn that the person who had the trailer at the time had extended their rental...nobody called me to tell me of the change (good thing I called to confirm). After being told none were available within 30 miles, the supervisor I spoke to was able to find one on a lot 23 miles from me, ready for pickup. It all worked out, but only because I called ahead, then called scheduling to find out why I had been sent to the wrong location, then demanded to speak to a supervisor when the agent I initially spoke to offered no solution...only told me nothing was available. Do better!

Dollies were placed in wheels down and kept sliding around to a point where it was necessary to stop and flip them over. Attention to detail is always important.

I was very disappointed to learn that my original reservation for a 10 ft truck was canceled after only a 5 minute grace period, despite the fact that I'd reserved the truck for 8 hours (i.e., until the location's close of business). As I'm sure your company is aware, there are always unforeseen circumstances that arise when moving; canceling a reservation made well in advance after only 5 minutes is incredibly harsh. This action made my move much more difficult and stressful, and it imparted a very negative impression of U-Haul's customer service.

I had requested furniture dollies and furniture pads, and none were on my truck. Since it was so early, I had to move without them.

Used the app checkin for early hours. The prompts delayed our timeline. The online chat was slow in confirming authorization. Truck didn't have the utility dolly I ordered, but when I brought it up with manager he immediately granted a refund. Although, offered no apology for the mishap. Overall, the truck was clean & ran really smoothly on the road.

When you book a date & time you should be able to rely on that time they told me the time is just general . That's not fear some people book times because they are out of state and need that pacific time.

When I arrived, I had been assigned a van which was blocked in by other vehicles. I was given another vehicle to use, but no record was made of the mileage before I left. When I returned the vehicle, I was told the mileage I had driven was about double what it possibly could have been- I made one in-town trip with the vehicle. Because there was no record, I had to pay extra money.

While the vehicle ran fine, the AC intermittently failed on the trip. We drove 350 miles from DC to Connecticut (on one of the hottest days so far this year). We got stuck in rain storm in Delaware with the windows down and my daughter and I were soaked. Upon returning to CT we notified UHaul about the problem and they offered to send a tech out to fix it. Since the move was over I decided not to have it repaired. I did however contact Chris Parker who was the GM of the store to ask for some type of relief. He expressed to me that he couldn't replicate the AC problem but if I was willing to see if the next customer had a bad experience then he could possibly do something. This is really BAD customer service. Not to mention that they care enough about their customers that they are willing to let some other poor soul experience the same thing. Totally disgusted with UHaul in DC. Don't rent from them!

Turning in the truck went smoothly. The turn-in location was easy to access and the people who assisted us couldn't have been nicer. I will use Uhaul in the future and recommend Uhaul to my friends.

The vesicle had tape on the windshield rubber exterior , the tape was on the windshield and not mentioned to me.. Even though the mgr. upon return stated that she rent's it out all the time... I told her there was water residue in the flooring area and leaks from taped area during rain during my rental... She then told me I was lying about the water intrusion with her own interpretations of how water was getting in during a storm event.... Upon my arrival return the check in line was long ... the checking person was new , but I was treated as if I were in the wrong... The Equipment was not maintained.. Leaks ... and I was charge and extra day...... Not a good experience at all..... I attempted to call during return to advise of few minutes late , no one answer on several attempts KSO

None of the employees were wearing masks, and none of the customers (other than me) were wearing masks. There were no signs encouraging/requiring people to wear masks, and overall very little appear to have been done to prevent the spread of COVID-19. I did not feel safe when I had to enter the store.

The truck assigned to me was blocked by two other trucks and I was unable to get it out. There was no option on the mobile check in to get a new truck without calling Uhaul. The check in process took more than an hour and was incredibly frustrating. However, the truck was clean and well maintained and the return was easy.
