ANTHONY SThe front desk staff who worked at 1750 Bladensburg Rd NE, Washington, DC 20002 on Nov 30- Dec 1 should be dismissed. He failed to perform his duties (after I brought the truck about 5.30pm, he disappeared from his work place till 7pm and didn't close my contract in the system before 7pm, went home, so I was charged for 1 more day, cause I got my receipt only in the morning next day). And this is despite the fact that I sat near his front desk table for an hour and a half that evening! Why? Cause he forgot how customer’s car looks, and he was even unaware that his customer's vehicle was towed from his U-Haul location!!! So my car was towed in 1 day from Uhaul while I was using their truck. Isn’t it crazy??? That front desk member even refused to give me a ride a few blocks away from the Uhaul to the towing company where my car was, despite that he was in no hurry, was simply sitting and eating in his car, leaving unfinished work behind after the end of his work day. I had to get Lyft from Uhaul and pay towing company for getting my car back. Yes, and I got a ticket from police for parking on empty u-haul territory without any signs nearby. Private property??? Hey, wake up, I’m your customer, it’s your problem that you have a plenty of space but no designated area for your customers! And once again, Uhaul calls police on its customers’ cars and tows the customers’ cars! Be aware of this part of the service. I was a customer of different Uhaul locations for several years, but I will never return again, and especially warn others. The service is significantly deteriorating. Previous time, I had to pay extra for not existing day and mileage, and they didn't accept the proof of the miles because my picture seemed blurry to them))), and they didn't accept the proof of the days I used, cause for the 1-way truck they use another measurement of a day, not like others on Earth 24 hours… You guys making everything up, creating hard times for your customers and think we won't notice and react ??? This time I got at least the reimbursement for an extra day, but my car was towed within a single day from U-Haul location, and I got a headache of getting my car back and paying extra a big for me money to towing company and even the police ticket !!! U-Haul should cover all these expenses, not me, cause it’s their shameless and vile treatment of their own clients. And it's insane!!! It feels like every time they’re stealing money and deceiving customers. Just curious, how much is your share in towing company procedures? Oh yeah, and the last but not the least: uhaul has also a procrastination of updating the payment from their customers. I did a payment in early July this year, including 30$ fee for processing by Uhaul, and in the end of November I got a warning that I can’t take a truck cause from their end I haven’t paid them (the payment wasn’t updated. Cool!!! I had to spend in the evening more than 2.5 hours trying to reach them by call, waiting for 40 min during first call, after waiting for call back for more than and hour, and again 40 min to finally get the answer that my payment was made! Bravo! Welcome everyone to Uhaul (((

NATHANIEL JI have rented many times from U-Haul, and unfortunately, the customer service has always been below average. Except on Saturday!!!!! Oh my Goodness!!!!! The young lady was extremely cordial, helpful and went above and beyond professional!!! She worked with me and several other customers simultaneously, and STILL managed to make each of us feel like she was personally concerned with all of us!!! I even laughed with a guy who was retrieving his truck at the time I was getting inside of my rental. We joked about how awesome she was. THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! Absolutely NO complaints, she was incredible!!!
Kenneth FUhaul was great. but on our end we had some major confusion that ended up costing us lots of money, stress, confusion, embarrassment and grief. Danita GThere was one woman working that morning. She was taking orders, helping to attach hauls, etc. Our first truck the engine light was on. As I started to drive off, after waiting in line, it just cut off. The second truck had a broken sun shade, ripped seats and was filthy. Overall, not a great experience.

KAVIN WSome lights on the dash indicated a tire monitor system issue. But this location was the most helpful after my reserved truck was given away at the chillum location in Hyattsville. I had a truck reserved for 24 hours but there were no trucks in hyattsville. The dc location was fast with getting me the truck I needed to get my move done. Thanks to the dc location I got my move done in 8 hours solo.

Anthony WWas overcharged for mileage for trips that were 1 mile in total one way. I made 5 trips in which would have resulted in 10 miles at best. i was charged for 30 miles !!!!!!!!! and the initial mileage on my contract was wrong! I have provided the pictures of the odometer and gas mileage indicated upon pick up.

Kendra CMy experience was AMAZING!!!! Ms. Kena was absolutely phenomenal and the best representative to work with. She was professional, knowledgeable and efficient. I explained how the rental was going to be used and she showed me the inside of the truck to ensure it would meet our expectations. Ms. Kena explained the lockboxes and additional requirements upon returning the truck. There was substantial fleet available to choose from. I would highly recommend this location and working with Ms. Kena for your U-haul rental needs!!! Customer service is not always the best but Ms. Kena has resorted my belief 🙂.

However i do understand this is the way of the world luckily i had help with my process thank god but the older lady before me had a hard time and from just the little interaction i heard with your employee he wasn't as help as he should have been with. i personally never plan on returning to that location
Trey SInitially, uon arrival, there was only one manager working by herself and she couldn't be at the desk and do her task at he same time. I went to look for her to get assistance because i never rented from u haul before. When I talked to the manager, she had an attitude and claimed I did not need her assistance to sign in. I explained to her I never used the app and after that point, she was helpful, but her intial customer service could've been better.

Carlos AI couldn't depart at 6:30am once I retrieved the keys to my rental because prepurchased moving items weren't in the truck as requested, and I had to wait to 7am for the branch to open. The only item preloaded for me were unused furniture pads to which I've yet to be reimbursed for, which all made me late getting to my client. Upon return to drop the truck off prior to 6:30am the following day, the uhaul system, wouldn't allow me to return the vehicle & stated that the mileage I entered was less than the mileage I left with. Unfortunately I couldn't verify my outgoing mileage due to my tardy departure to my client. Nonetheless, I had to return to the branch yet again at 7am to have them check it in, upon doing so, the team member couldn't figure out the mileage issue, and placed the contract on hold to figure out. Before I departed, I asked two members, to include the individual working on the mileage issue to place the remaining balance on promissory, as I informed them I wanted to pay the remaining balance with another credit card as opposed to the one on file. Neither complied and charged the card on file anyway resulting in a $35 overdraft fee from my bank, and neither individual returned the refund for the unused, still in the bag furniture pads as requested.
FREDERICK RI had a great U-Haul experience. The employees were very nice and helpful. Not only was the truck was gassed up and ready to go, but they helped me add my sister as a driver and ensured the paperwork was in order.

Marco AI would recommend this location. The location itself is easy to find and well organized. I found the truck easily and navigated out of the lot with no issues. I had arranged for the self check-in process, but had a few questions along the way, and the staff at this location were friendly, responsive, and helpful. The truck, dolly, and set of moving blankets were clean and in good working order. In all, a very straight forward, positive experience.
Megan GOpen when scheduled. Store didn't open until 7:40 - 7:45am. Although a very nice man, he was inexperienced and the experience we had with the trailer was not good. We had to switch out trailers at another location.
WILLIAM MI had a very disappointing experience at this location. Due to timing constraints, I had to move late at night with assistance from out-of-town helpers. Upon arrival, it was extremely difficult to locate my truck, which was parked far in the back in a poorly lit area next to an individual sleeping nearby. Additionally, the dolly I had reserved was not provided, which significantly complicated and delayed my move. Attempts to reach the after-hours number provided went unanswered. They also still charged me for the dolly. Later, I received only a $5 refund. Overall, this experience felt unprofessional, and I would not return to this location.

CALLA JI found the on-line check-in to be confusing and laborious (not intuitive at all). Had it not been for the kindness of your on-site staff who walked me through the process step by step, there is no doubt I would have walked out, accepted the charges for late cancellation as a mistake in working with UHaul and rented what probably would have been a more expensive truck (yet and easier check-in system) elsewhere. Let me stress that it was only the kindness of your employee on site at 0715 on 10th September that kept me engaged and a customer of UHaul. If I must do the on-line check-in next time, I will rent elsewhere

Michael B- My pickup location was moved to a much more difficult location to get to. - My vehicle had the low gas light on upon pickup - There was trash still in the back of the truck upon pickup - There were no dollies or furniture pads available which I had paid for and planned on being able to use. There have been issues getting reimbursed for the charges for the non existent dollies and furniture pads. - The truck was very new and drove well
John Mtruck had like 20% of gas when we got it, it was not easy to find in the lot. worked fine but the checkout process was too much
Tova PLet customers know that they should check in on-line while waiting for the store to open item would cut down on their pick up time make it the on-line check in more people friendly
Sharon CAt the first location (Capitol Hill) the trailers damage and could not be used. Was referred to this location. At this location was busy, however, there were employees standing around or disappearing while there were many customers patiently waiting. The manager finally assisted use herself after waiting over an hour. The manager was fine but better staffing is suggested.

This was a hectic day and it could have been very stressful but because of the professionalism, kindness and can do attitude of the entire staff the day ended peaceful and joyful!

Tim K | First ImpressionsThe proffesionalism and kindness of the staff varied based on their mood. Getting started was a nightmare yet pressed for time I stayed there. The storage units there are the back halves of older 10ft trucks placed side by side. Being kept outside I should have been able to have 24 access. I am sure the manager tried her best but this location was the location for extra trucks. There is no customer parking available yet they managed to fill every inch with a truck. First few times I had to request to have a truck removed from infront of my storage unit. After that, they avoided parking one infront of my unit. I made it a point to have everyting out within my 30 days. I refused to pay close to $200.00 a month with the service and inconvenience I was put thru. My leaving seemed to have made everyone happy including myself. Again, I am sure the manager did her best. The individual that opened my account was the worst. She showed no signs of wanting to help me. But had no issues helping others that came in after me. I wanted to F******** scream. The guys at this location seemed much more accomidating, friendlier, and very helpful I wish I had gotten names. Not that it matters I hope to never have to go back there again.
