Keep hiring/training your staff on customer service like the young lady on my trailer pickup. Most likely the best sales person I have ever come in contact with at a U-Haul location. Probably helped that they were not busy, but still exhibited great awareness and service.

Jason KArrived to return the trailer at 7:30 AM on day 2 of the rental to be met by an employee on his phone in one of the trucks. He rolled down the window, took a picture of the trailer number, said I'm all good, and pointed across a large parking lot where he instructed me where to return the trailer. I unhooked the trailer myself, wrapped the wire and chains, and left the lot. Three days later I get notification of a Uhaul charge to my credit card. I almost mistook it as the original rental because the amounts were similar but realized that the location had just now returned the trailer and billed me for the three days extra and insurance. I'm not happy, and I'd love to know how many times this has happened at this location.

JERMAINE RAn employee canceled one of my auto trailer orders the day before I needed it. When I went to pick up my reservations, the Owner of the location who I was speaking with kind of shrugged and said he couldn't find any other auto trailers. The reason why I needed two had been weeks in the making and would take weeks to put back together again. In the end I was able to do what I needed to do by renting a car dolly but it led to more complication and time consumed on my end. The Owner didn't offer anything to comp me for the mistake of his employee either. In part, having a car dolly instead of an auto trailer made what I needed to do take longer, which meant by the time I was ready to return the uhaul gear it was after my use window and in the middle of a rather nasty storm. Instead of risking myself and my friend trying to unload cars in the middle of bad weather, we waited until the next morning to safely unload the cars then return the rented units. Though I did get the units returned before the uhaul opened for the next day I am still being charged for two days use. In the end, the equipment was sort of in good working order (the car dolly I was given had a passenger light out) and I sort of got what I reserved weeks in advance (had to get a dolly instead of a car trailer due to the actions of the employee) and I was able to do what I needed to do. Would I use uhaul again? Not if I had another choice. Do I have another choice in the Tallahassee area? Not really.

Heather S | Online Move InMade a reservation to travel out of state with a 6x12 trailer. Upon arrival, the first trailer had issues including a huge dent on the top of the trailer that has duct tape or aluminum tape on it. The right blinker wasn’t working either. They switched us to another trailer and after hooking it up, we found out that it had been reported stolen. Went back to the first trailer and once we were on the road after packing it, got charged twice on my debit card by uhaul which took my traveling money and made my bank account negative. Upon talking to customer service, nothing was done stating “oh well it was refunded so you’ll get it in 2-3 business days.” Was stranded in Florida with no means to make it to Oklahoma and uhaul did nothing to make the situation right. Had to borrow money from family just to make it to Oklahoma and upon traveling, the brake lights did not work on one half and the running lights did not work on the entire other side around the whole trailer for a 15 hour, 950 mile trip. Rented from uhaul multiple times before and will NEVER use them again. Have overdraft fees charged by my bank due to uhauls mistake and double charging my bank account $1400.

GISMELY HThe truck was clean yes, but not in good shape. There was no power steering and the truck had a jerk.
DEBORAH BI called to rent the trailer and gave specific dimensions and a description for what I was pulling onto the trailer. It was a John Deere gator. When I arrived at the location almost 4 hours away and tried to put the gator on the trailer it was only then I found out the opening of the trailer is actually smaller the width of the trailer. At this point the trailer was a failure until I had to pay someone with an extra-large forklift to place the gator in the bed. Then once arriving in Tallahassee, I had to pay another company to remove the gator with a forklift. From the beginning it was really a big inconvenience because I had to haul this size trailer empty from Tallahassee, because you cannot rent one-way trailer of this size. If it wasn't for the forklift I would have had an even worse experience. Overall, the staff obviously was not educated on what I thoroughly explained to them and didn't disclose the size of the width of the entrance being smaller than the gator. Completely unsatisfied and actually cost prohibitive for me.

ANGELA H | Overall ExperienceOur experience with the boxes was very good. Everyone dropping off and picking up was always on time and our stuff came to our destination safe and unharmed. The only thing I can say is there are WAY too many phone calls involved. I was being called several times before each drop off and pick up to ask for details I had already included online. I already put photos and details of where to do drop offs and was still called multiple times to confirm. Also was called multiple times to “schedule a drop off/pick up time” when - since I didn’t even have to be present for - was incredibly annoying and unnecessary. Just schedule it and text or email the time when it’s done. It was actually such an insufferable amount of phone calls that I almost wouldn’t choose U-boxes again. Please let your staff integrate to just texts/emails, I am begging. I counted at least 13 phone calls in my call log history of people just confirming info I already put online.
Gabriel RThe wheel securing strap on the driver side had been previously snapped and was not long enough to reach the ratchet. I just happened to have a heavy duty towing strap in my trunk and was able to cut it in half to make a connection however this ruined my towing strap.

Shakettia M | Overall ExperienceJamal P was exceptional!! We needed to upgrade from a 10' truck to a 15' truck after realizing the smaller truck wouldn't suffice. He went above and beyond in getting us a 15' truck that was reserved, but wasn't picked up. After getting the truck the only suggestion I would make is -- "The truck floor was extremely slippery possibly from an Armor All cleaning product, but whatever the cleaning product is "PLEASE STOP USING IT!" as the slippery floor surface isn't safe! Instead, I'd suggest cleaning the inside of the front window, so there's no film and the rental driver has a much clearer vision.
LEVEX SOne of the straps that held down the front tire on the driver’s side was not working properly, there are only two to hold the car down securely, the one on the driver side was very difficult to use, and unloading the car is very difficult to get that strap back off
JOHN WWhen they discovered I was going (one way) with my trailer they gave me a 6 X 12 that is in bad condition and needs to be decommissioned! Bald tires and no matter what speed I was going over 55 MPH the trailer was swaying all over the road. When a semi passed me on the road it started swaying everywhere. There is something drastically wrong with that (Fleet) trailer. It's going to get someone killed with a less experienced driver!!!

She didn’t advise me of anything. After everything was said and done she told me the storage was 80 something bucks because I didn’t return the U-Haul to a different location. I had barely anything to put into the storage. I purchased a 5”5. Was very disappointed in her and her service. I went to get a refund the next day! If others that worked there were doing it wrong, I understand she followed protocol. But her attitude and customer service was poor overall.

So first, When I left my initial message, I did not know who Jamal was? So, I did not know that I would be getting a call from him. Second, I don't have his cell number. I was not sure who it was. Then when I followed up, this is when I found out when he told me he left me a message. Maybe some training on how to work with customers and how to leave a voice mail message that would give some indication on who they were with a phone number. after about an hour on the phone, he did get done what I needed, I can't say that I was confident that it was done correctly.

He acted as if I was stupid, threw up his hands, and said he no longer cared anymore at one point. Another time, I was in the facility when air blew through the overhead tube. I was curious about it and asked him what that was about because he was there unlocking the double doors that he had mistakenly locked ( which I had to wait for). He told me he was off the clock so he did not need to talk to me. I have never been treated so rudely as this young man treated me. I was told that I was required to get insurance, although everything written said that was an option. The day before my rental unit was due, I took everything out and told the person at the desk that I was out of the unit. He assured me that all was good. I then started getting overdue notices. I had to call to tell them that I had checked out already. If I need a storage unit again, I will definitely not be going here again.

Hope to resolve or receive a month free on next rental when downsizing or moving into new until. Inconvenience of cleaning and having the risk orf being accused of damages did not cause. Sent picture to manage email. Assured can move out no contract no fees no problems. Expected move out date to another unit is April 19, 2024. The manager step in towards the end of the transaction to make corrections on account. Mr. Burns and some other prospects were on site waiting. 1st month free was valid only with purchase of moving truck, and didn't want the inconvenience of signing the same contract twice neither wanted my signature electronic in order to copy & paste. So request a paper print out due to all the hacking/scammers & fraudulent activity. U-Haul provides individually alarmed rooms and twice the protection & security so the customer service & standard advantages made up for the headache artificial intelligence was giving Crystal Nicole Coley. Signed as all rights reserved to Crystal Nicole Coley not to family or friends. Definitely having a better experience at U-Haul then the last storage unit. 1 thing on my prayer list answered. Added insurance($5,000) on March 25, 2024 to cover books documents containers paint art supplies clothes electronics devices(intel), hair tools/equipment, clothes, clothing rack, suitcase $1,000 equal or less to in cash notes Resolution to trespass warning against visitors, friends, start properties or personal properties hanging out without being posted. All rights reserved to Crystal Nicole Coley acknowledge that while U-Haul in this facility takes certain precautions to provide clean dry and secure storage rooms and agree that U-Haul in this facility does ensure my property and does have the responsibility to provide insurance for my property as effective March 25th of 2024 furthermore I agree that U-Haul in the facility are responsible for any damages or loss that may occur to the property while in storage. And understand that it is requirement for U-Haul in the facility to maintain insurance coverage for my goods or property as long as they are in the storage facility. With the exception of customers moving out leaving property behind and the manager considering unclaimed property rules and procedures the premises and office were clean. The unit moved in was not moved in ready or clean so emailed and spoke to manager about moving out since none of my options were available.

There was a used nasty mattress in the hall old junk sitting by the door with trash down the aisle. When I opened my new storage a damm rodent trap with poison sitting in there. Homeless people standing around and beating me through the door. This place doesn't give me clean or safe. I wouldn't store anything at this facility not even trash. The best decision I made was to ask for a refund.

The employee in office have change since the young lady left and went to the pod side. I have been with the facility for two years and from when first started to now have went down 95%. Horrible place to go and don’t care.

Also facility needs more staff to help keep ahead of maintenance/ clean up. Not horrible but could tell they were short staffed. Think this delays making units available again once the are vacated. Finally only one flat cart for moving items. There were twoatterss carts but only one all purpose flat cart.

The manager then asked what unit so he could see why, he then says I never got around to it, to take it off. I said but what if I came in after hours? His response was, well you were late paying so I'm late removing the lock. Quite unprofessional and I will never patronize this U-Haul storage facility ever again.

When we would explain situations and say hey we have cancer and have been in the hospital we were met with not our problem you need to pay your bill y'all just don't like paying bills or other nasty statements like this. My very favorite was the very last call on the 27th of January when I picked up the phone to answer and before I could say hello Jessica was on the other end mocking me and how she thought the call would go. Our road has been very hard and long and this $94 storage was supposed to ease our minds. Your store made it to where I will never shop U-haul again. As my husband, is a disabled veteran we plan to to a great deal of travel into the years of our retirement. U-haul will not be a part of those plans in anyway.

Leon County has a face covering ordinance that states that an individual in a business establishment in Leon County must wear a face covering while in that business establishment. A customer also came in w/o a mask, and none of the staff asked that person to go back out and come in with a mask. I spoke to one of the staff persons about this, and he admitted he was aware of the ordinance. He stated that they are in and out all day long, and that the mask is not comfortable. Meanwhile, medical professionals treating COVID-19 victims are wearing masks daily along with additional PPE. Contacting the facility to try to resolve this will not be effective in my opinion, as the manager is likely aware of this and condones this behavior.
