My U Haul rental was a very positive experience. The equipment was ready to go when i arrived to pick it up and the return was easy.

ROBERT WAccessing my storage locker was a little tricky after office hours, at first. I failed to notice that there were 2 key pads at side door. (Main doors closed after hours) using 2 key pads felt a little redundant as a user (1 to check in and 2nd to access the building) but it is a highly secure concept against thieves. I moved from Montreal to Winnipeg and had initially chose my uhaul truck drop off and storage location as Dufferin Winnipeg. But Century staff made my switch seamless and I really appreciated that because I was tired from the long haul drive. I booked another truck with them when moving my belongings out a month later and it went smoothly. Friendly staff and very accessible & secure location. 5 stars!!

JOYCE MReserved a car hauler to be picked up 5 days after reservation was made. I received a call late the day before pick-up from the location I requested saying they didn’t have one available. I was told I had to drive to another town about 45 minutes away to pick it up. My reservation was confirmed pick up at 8 AM on March 7th. When I arrived at Strathmore to pick up the trailer they didn’t open until 10:00 AM. After picking up the trailer I had to buy a trailer pin because there wasn’t one on the trailer. Driving through the night from Calgary to Winnipeg we found out there were no running lights on the trailer. We turned on the parking lights on the car we had one the trailer. The battery ended up dying so we had to unhook the trailer and boost the car and leave it run for 8 hours until the sun came up. The trip with the trailer turned out to be more difficult than it should have been. I mentioned the running lights and missing pin when I returned the trailer in Winnipeg but was not confident they were interested in fixing those issues. I would have thought more should have been done to compensate us for the issues we encountered with this trailer.
Douglas RWhy are there other vehicles listed under my driver's license? This caused concern . Then the confirmation text was someone else's license plate? And the staff member said they cannot delete these? Doubt I will come back and we have been repeat customers.

GINGER GFirst we were given a terrible truck and we lost plenty of time and we weren't able to haul everything!! Secondly the truck was replaced with a pickup and we got charged as additional fee again!! This is not acceptable and demand a refund for everything!

Kyle MI booked a U-Haul van online and it went through. Then I received a text saying the van was not available and I would have to switch to a different vehicle type. I then received a phone call from a lady at U-Haul. She told me the same thing. I told her I specifically needed the van. She put me on hold and when she came back she said I would get the van as booked. Upon arrival at U-Haul the morning of pick up the worker gave me a truck. I said I was guaranteed a van. He said there was none available. I told him the situation and that I was assured I would get a van. There was nothing he could do, I had to take the truck. I fully believe I was never going to get the van and the lady lied to me. I am extremely disappointed in the service received and will not refer this location in the future.

I had alerted the office and they put a note in my file and said it would be fine, to pay the storage locker monthly charge when I got the new credit card. However, I received numerous emails stating that my payment was late and was given an extra $15 "delinquent payment" charge. It was frustrating.

BRENT CTruck was super dirty inside and out, out of alignment. Also this location has no parking at site , no key drip boy , that thing is installed in door which is super hard to find . Owner or manager called front desk 2 times in 5 minutes in front of me to move my vehicle from their property as we can’t park there more than 15 minutes. Please if somebody want to experience worst driving experience go for that . If possible to have good experience please try other places. Also don’t believe me only please check other comments also.
SORVINDER SI have recently rented a van as I was moving out of my storage locker located on Notre Dame in Winnipeg and they had a vehicle van for use on that day. The staff was friendly, happy smiley, very knowledgable easy to rent the vehicle when I entered the van it was very clean Inside and out. I have used your services in the past and have had the same experience my daughter as well use your services in the past and same experience you are the first rental move-in services that always pop into my mind when moving great job keep up the hard work. RAMAN JWell the whole ordeal was stressful, I called to make a reservation for a 15 foot truck and car carrier and went to pick up and they had a 10 foot truck & car carrier. That night I was supposed to load the truck and take it out of the country. So that huge hiccup made me rethink and drop the 10 foot truck and take the car carrier.

MUHAMMAD TMore than half the time I come here, the unit I ordered 1 or more weeks prior is unavailable and I’m stuck with something far too big for what’s needed. In this case, I was told after I’d arrived for pick up (a 20” truck when I ordered a 10”) was also now not available. Something needs to be done. If U-Haul as a company can’t accommodate people’s needs and have any inclination in advance, they should not allow bookings to be made. Moving is stressful enough. It feels like dishonest, poor business practices. Charlene, who was handling the situation, did her best to accommodate, and she deserves commendation for that when I was clearly upset. I believe in situations where you’re getting jerked around emotionally, they ought to give you everything they can to help out. In the future, I will absolutely hesitate to choose any U-Haul again.

Only there was a mix up and I was to get another unit instead but no complaints there, things happen. :) The ONLY complaint I have is the lack of 24 hour access, as my easiest time to move my possessions is between 11pm and 8 am. OVERALL: Staff ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ personable, friendly and accommodating Facility ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ easy to navigate to and within, clean. Ease of Access ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Some bay doors weren't working but not a bother, scan system was a little confusing but alright once performed once through But no overnight access would absolutely alter whether I continued storing my belongings with this location. 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Alan C | First ImpressionsThis U-Haul storage facility was very secure and I had plenty of peace knowing all my stuff, which I moved everything from out of town for a month, was not going to be damaged. The storage is an excellent place of cleanliness! A few staff including the manager were very helpful in working with costs of rental as I communicated in advance. Cons: While that part was excellent, my lower average rating is due in part to the gruff, aloofness and unhelpful attitude of a few other staff. There was a misunderstanding near the end of my rental (needing one extra week, which I talked to the manager a week before the rental renew due date) and they locked my storage. There was a $50 dollar arrangement for the final week, but refused to unlock my storage unless I paid the full month and when I asked them to call the manager, they refused and so I had to come in when the manager was back. My feedback to this specific U-Haul location is to invest in customer service training for multiple staff. Attitude towards customers for a few staff were below average. That’s why I rate at average.

Even help me find the unit and told me he couldn’t help me because I didn’t have a drivers license. And when I said well I payed for these things already…for some reason he thought it was funny and then told me no I haven’t. But I was charged but refunded for the trailer and equipment I rented. But never got my money back for the storage unit

Also, while trying to get access to my locker with getting this lock situation sorted out, they impersonated my roommate who had not even been around Winnipeg at the time of the day they claimed he was there trying to say he came here, which he never ever went to this facility at all!! It was only myself who ever came to this facility!! So I felt this place couldn't be trusted anymore. Then the manager of this place also acted like she didn't remember anything that happened too. So ya personally stay away from this location at all cost!!!

With my current situation, longer access hours would be helpful, but I understand you are only open until 7:00pm. I don't feel safe as a female using the side door by myself after hours. If there was access to the regular entrance where you could enter and close the overhead doors behind you, I would feel safer.

albert v | First ImpressionsI've repeatedly used the U-Haul on King Edward in Winnipeg for my storage needs when necessary, both as a long term renter (3 years) & more recently for a short term 2 month rental. I've gotten to know the staff very well over the past few years & nearly everything was a first class experience. With this being said, there was a small issue. The rental space I was provided was at the extreme back of the building. This in itself was no problem at all. Staff was beyond accommodating to even get me space, which I appreciated. Notes were made on my account to inform me when a space closer to the front became available. Within days I was informed that a closer 10x10 unit was indeed available & I came down to move. There was a small charge for this service which I believe was $5.64. In addition, although I'd just booked a unit a handful of days prior, rates had suddenly increased & my bill was raised another $12.00. Upon paying these amount I went to get my lock off the other storage locker. I'll add that my unit was empty. The only thing being done was moving my lock to the new unit. Upon arrival I found that the new unit was against a perimeter wall & as such it was not nearly as well lit as the centre units. Making things worse were the bulbs to this units immediate left & right were burned out, making it very difficult to see into. I returned to the front office & rather than make work for the staff changing bulbs, simply asked to return to my old unit until another closer unit more central locker became available. This change was made but despite never moving an object, was informed I was being charged the moving cost as well as having my rent increased. I just moved out on July 31st, spending only 2 months renting the space. The only objects ever place inside was a single storage rack & a storage rack on wheels for objects that never made it to U-Haul. My friend asked me to provide him storage space while in the process of his divorce. One month in to the rental, he & his wife reconciled, but as it happened days into the 2nd month rental, I was stuck with the storage locker for a second month. I'm not asking for a refund of any kind. Simply bringing to your attention that the system as described to me by your very friendly & accommodating staff, prevented them from reversing the moving fee once it was created, not was it capable of changing the rent back to the what it originally was. Other than what amounted to an extra $20.00 in charges, everything about my experience was fantastic & should I need storage again in the future would not hesitate to return to this branch. I'll also add that the GM at this location helped me out when I found my storage rack on wheels could not fit into the vehicle I was driving, allowed me to return the following day to pick up as it was late in the day when all this occurred. Staff let me know I need to call the insurance company, but I am just overall disappointed in the facility that some of my items were ruined while in storage. I would not store again or recommend to a friend.

I went back again and told them I really needed help, I felt like I was a nuisance to the staff and that they didn’t feel like helping. My information was also wrong on the contract, the copy I have has someone else’s address and driver’s license number on it. I don’t know if they changed it, but they never did ask for my licence. This was a very different experience from my first time years ago.

You will have a difficult time loading and unloading as the loading bays are usually full of junk the staff leaves laying around, or trailers they don't organize in the parking lot blocking entrance. Then you will be battling with other customers for the one or 2 open unloading spots. The carts used to move your stuff to and from your locker suck and are small. The staff will likely not show you how to disable the alarm. If you need in after business hours you will only be able to use a small man door on the far side of the building, after you disarm the alarm, then figure out how to unlock the door (2 different pin pads you must do sequentially in the correct order) again you will not be taught this when you sign up. Then good luck moving anything through the man door with all the junk left around infront of it. Staff are unmotivated and usually ignorant. There's several better options in Winnipeg don't waste your time or money here. I'll give you 1 point to sustain.. there was ONE staff member that was good at his job. Bigger guy with a redish beard. He's the only one I would ever consider dealing with again. Overall this business is embarrassing.

I think for the high price compared to other facilities, the experience should be flawless. Probably will stay my 4 weeks and move.

It never fails that someone is renting a truck or a locker whenever I am there to pay. Some wait times over 20 minutes. They have a “payment only” sales desk but there is never any staff there to work that desk. No pro-rating of monthly pre-paid rent. For example, I paid Sept.14 by pre-authorized payment for rent valid until October 14, 2020 but we moved out on September 26, 2020.I was told that 2 weeks rent will not be reimbursed. Asked employee at counter and he replied no money back. Why not? The storage locker is empty and available to be rented again effective the morning of Sept. 26, so why can you not refund the pre-paid rent? You have my credit card number, so please refund. Also upon move out, I asked for a receipt to show the pre-authorization of payments will stop. He could not provide me with anything like that. He said it’s all in the computer and they will stop because you moved out. He then provided me with a piece of paper from the computer saying Moved Out and a zero balance due. Unable to set up debit card for monthly payments at the onset of the rental term was an inconvenience. Please note: I did not have any problems with the staff. They were always polite. The problems are relating to administration and store policies. Just wanted to clarify that. Thanks.

No’s on (where I needed a survey answer other than no) - Access time, relates to Office time, as these are the only times the big doors can be open, and then just a regular sized door is available. I think we should be able to park inside and close the big door, off hours. This probably could have saved me a bit of money, by coming to pick up a few items at a time with my vehicle. No, but Yes for Staff Helpful/Friendly, YES on “friendly,” NO on the “helpful” on one of the 5 occasions I went to my storage, this last time renting a 15’ uhaul truck. I indicated to the staff member, who was new I guess, that I was literally going 1.1km (2.2km round trip), and asked if I really needed make the extra stop for fuel. While he kept saying that I would have to, I asked the folks who spoke better english and common sense prevailed and indicated no you don’t need to bother filling it up. Round trip was ~2.2km (1.36mi), from/to Uhaul 461 Century St to/from 232 King Edward St. Not sure how you could add that to the training had to speak to the other employees. The other issue, is that for this large facility, you only had the single bar push roller the other day...and I had larger items In my storage that would have been better on the mattress roller (has 3 bars, 2 shorter on the sides, and one larger one in the middle, where the mattress would rest against), where the bars are parallel to the rolling direction, you really should have a few of those there. I broke an expensive window, by using the single barred push roller, so ya...thanks alot. Grrr. Spend $200+ a month on storage, and initially the 3 bar roller was available, though 1 bar roller when moving out, and it caused damage to my property. Big glass windows, well, they are expensive. You need those 3 bar rollers back, you should have 2 available.

The manger wasn’t professional in terms of attitude when discussing this issue and other issues that came up.
