DONALD DI went to this location after the Rutledge Pike store didn't have the car hauler I reserved. I called Chapman Hwy to confirm they had the one-way tow dolly that was being substituted. They had it in stock, but didn't think I could get across town before closing time, so they didn't get anything ready for me and were locking the front door when I pulled up 5 minutes before 7pm. I then received reluctant customer service. Very disappointing.

SUSAN SThe overall experience wasnt great, I went to pick up the truck 1st thing in the morning. I was told a couple of odd things. First the minimum mileage requirement was 50 miles, ive never heard anyone at any location day that to me , second there was rhis supervisor or trainer or inspector of some sort with the loudest voice talking over my conversation with the agent. I was also told that even though the gas on the truck didbt matchef the marked fuel I had to bring it what the paper said which was half. Lastly, I arrived to the store to return the truck at 6:53. There wasnt anyone in tbe store I kept walking around. Finally someone showed at 7pm. I tried to turn the truck in and his words were “youre gonna have to use the app boss” instead of just checking in the truck

ALVIN BThe attendant at the counter was rude and being a bully. I have rented U-Hauls before and always used the quick and easy mobile check in and had no problems. I confirmed my identity and got to the screen that said "application approved show this screen to attendant and get your keys." This process involves taking pictures of myself and uploading pictures of my license/ID and entering in my credit card information to so I can get a charge held on it. I did everything got the confirmation and had the pending charge in my account and was ready to go like always. Got inside and the guy was incredibly rude. Didn't say anything just pointed at me then down at the counter in front of him where he was stationed, weird but okay. He asked what I needed, so I showed him my ID/application accepted screen and said I needed my keys and the dolly I rented. He literally puffed up his chest and said "I'm gonna need and ID and a credit card." Thinking he misunderstood I just told him "oh, I already checked in, here and I showed him where the app said literally"show this screen to your attendant and they will give you your keys, thanks for using U-Haul" (not exact words but the main point is I have never had problems, and whatever location I have used has always given me my contract and keys and we have been on our way). The guy didn't even bother looking at the phone, will staring of up at the corner of the room he groaned and said"listen buddy, I'm not give you any keys to any truck unless you give me your ID and your credit card". Bewildered I just tried to explain again and got the same response..., but he talked on something about not knowing if I was who I said I was. Since I was losing time I decided to just go back out to my car and get my wallet rom my wife and grabbed my credit card out of my bag. Went back in...still confused since I had already paid and gone through the whole picture/video confirmation uploading online...but I need to go. Went inside and said alright here is my ID and credit card, but again I have already taken pictures of my ID and paid with the mobile check in. He muttered something about how he didn't need pictures of my ID. He Looked down at my wallet with my ID in it sitting on the counter and slung his head back and shook it and told me "No that ID doesn't look right I'm gonna need you to take it out of your wallet. I was like seriously...and he told me that it looked like a fake ID and he had to check it...idk who makes a fake ID for a uhaul...but okay. Again just frustrated and wanting to get the process done I take the ID. This guy has me basically held at the counter for 10 minutes i guess pretending to verify my supposed"Fake ID" he just accused me of. After this whole thing he does something on his computer and I get another confirmation email about something with my U-Haul rental...idk what he did but now he gives me the id back and spouts some nonsense about fake/expired IDs being used on the mobile check in so he had to be sure...again he obviously just didn't know what he was talking about about and was ego power tripping since I made the mistake of telling him all I needed to do was get the keys since I used mobile check in, and he didn't like that. So after all this he never takes me credit card...I'm guessing because he sees I have already paid and gotten approved..then drops my ID on the counter and then grabs the keys off the wall and just drops them on the counter. Then tells me that my appliance dolly is the one with the strap and that I should have just come inside to him for check in because he could have done it a lot quicker than the mobile check in...again I was state I have always done mobile check in and never gone through this type of ridiculous process. In the end I took the keys and the dolly and went on my way as I was not about 15-20 minutes later leaving then I should have been. Not even noticing that he never gave me my rental agreement after he supposedly "checked me in". At the end of the day after all this the kore I think about it the more angry I get as it was ridiculous and wrong treatment. The biggest best part though. When I go to check in the truck and drop it off that night... whatever thing he did on the computer after I had already checked in on the app...messed up my reservation/return link. I went to the email I got sent by him from his "verification process" and it looked me into the return process for a Victoria in Asheville NC! So whatever he did messed up my mobile/apps check in. Took me way to long to finally get back to my rental on the app and get my truck checked in. Then I also had to completely fuel up the truck because I couldn't remember what it got given to us at and I again didn't have the paperwork...I also didn't have the paperwork saying the stating miles...but when I dropped it off it said we had driven 120+miles...which is not possible we always track our miles while using the trucks through our GPS and we showed 91 miles traveled...so now I'm getting charged for 30 more miles and I have no idea if it's correct or not. In the end it was a horrible experience, the guy was the only one there and a jerk honestly. I will be sending a complaint and asking for some from of compensation after my entire check in/check out was botched due to his ego trip, and because she kept me in the store d wouldn't let me pick up my rental accusing me of having a "fake ID". All in all ridiculous, the only good thing was the truck was clean.

DOUGLAS KThe csa the morning I picked up the dolly was not very helpful at first. Apparently I had not noticed my online reservation had defaulted to 6hrs. After payment he informed me it needed to be back by 2pm or I would be charged an extra fee. I told him there's no way I could be back by then and his response was, " well I have another customer reservation at that time". I said I would try. But probably wasn't going to happen. After returning the dolly, I asked the rep that took it in was there was another rental scheduled for it today and was told I was the only one. So what should have happened was after it was noticed that the reservation was for only 6 hrs, the agent should have corrected the issue. Instead I felt rushed and worried I was going to be charged another rental. NOT GOOD BUSINESS!! So I called reservations and they extended the rental until 5pm with no issues. So what really went on here?? I have always rented equipment from Uhaul. Everything has always been 24hrs. If it has changed then it time for me to choose another company. Too much can go wrong in 6 hrs to have to worry about being charged more. Shame on this location for being rude and lying for the chance to maybe rent it again that day. Greed!!

DEBRA LCustomer service was great upon pick up. The manager upon the return wrongly charged me for fuel. I drove the truck 26 miles and put $15 in fuel to make sure I would be over instead of under. Also, the location charged $20 for returning after hours.

MARK CVehicle I rented had some electronically controlled features such as the lights and parking brake. An overview of using the vehicle would have been nice instead of just handing me the keys and let me figure out how to use it.
DEANNA MIn one previous time, they did not have my truck. I had to go to the airport to get one. this year, the man at the counter did not want to give us what I had reserved because he said that the ruck was not going to be moving much. It made it difficult and uncomfortable for us. We reserved the truck and have done this for many years. The reservation was to be honored. He finally did it, but not very kindly.

Somebody should have let us know to back into the alley where it unit was. It would have been a much smoother experience. Most times I would go to the facility an employees were rude etc Chuck the Mgr was always nice however other employees were not as helpful or as nice until the day I moved out if they didn't want my business they could have just said so I can only pray I don't need uhual again in the future also I these text msgs I got from uhual are very delayed I am just now seeing most of these an they say they came through on Monday hmm I've never missed a text msg before this is bull crap not real happy but hey what can one really do clearly not much enjoy

Jeff O | Overall ExperienceMy experience with this location started after a 2 day drive across the country in a U-Haul truck. I had a reservation for a unit in advance and I showed up on time. The manager of the location was the person working on a Sunday. I told him that I had a reservation for a storage room and he immediately told me that I didn’t. He looked at the computer and found it. He was very aggressive and dismissive. Upon move out, I again spoke to him and he was very rude. I asked him about moving out to which he told me he couldn’t help me and that the guy who was pumping propane would be in to help me sometime. I waited for a long time and gave up. Another customer came in while I was waiting and gave up too. I completed the move out online. The employees at this location are rude and unhelpful. They have equipment parked all over the place, making an already tight driveway almost impossible to navigate in a U-Haul truck.

The girl who was working at this location had already locked the door BEFORE 7pm, so she closed EARLY and was basically hiding in the back waiting for me to leave. She waited until I started walking back to my car, then she trotted to her car, got in and drove off. I had to wait until the next morning to unload my trailer - and as it turned out it RAINED ALL DAY on Tuesday, so my son and I got completely soaked while unloading the trailer. If the girl who worked the night before had kept the location open until the ACTUAL closing time, we could have unloaded in beautiful, dry weather. Once we unloaded the trailer on August 17, 2021 I went inside and told the guy who was working that we were dropping off the trailer. He told me where to park and unhook it, then came over once we'd unhooked it and he looked in the back end to confirm that the furniture pads were inside. He had other trucks to get moved, so he said he would close out my rental and send me an email. He did NOT do that, and Uhaul tried to charge my credit card for additional days because they showed that I didn't return the trailer until August 20, 2021. So because this location happens to have lazy, unorganized employees who apparently don't care how poorly they perform their jobs, your records show that I had the trailer through August 20th when I actually dropped it off EARLY. So instead of CHARGING me you can GIVE ME A CREDIT!!

After almost not getting a truck that I had reserved over a month ago it was never assigned to me. They found me one. But unbeknownst to me this one did not fulfill the original requirement for a free rental of one month. I had a melt down on the rental folks. They finally worked something out with me. But the truck rental people over charged for mileage because of there screw up.

Then during the middle of their conversation started texting, who we assume was his boss and said he was going to give her a piece of his mind. I chose this facility because I assumed it being u haul that it would be up to date and nice. But, the unit has duct tape on the insulated ceiling and water stains on the ground. If it wasn’t for the fact that I only had helpers for one day, I would have went somewhere else.

Kathy J | Overall ExperienceWe have used UHaul storage service numerous times before but unfortunately our storage experience at this location has been the worst. We only stored our belongings in the two units for a little over two months and were horrified when a large amount of rat feces, nuts, almond, flakes, hard candy and chewed up fabric were found on the outside and the inside of many of our boxes and some bags on our move-out day (We did NOT store any food items in our boxes). It's clear that the rat poison (the black box) placed inside one fo the two units did not deter their activities too much. Having said that, I am almost certain that the nuts, almond flakes and hard candy were from other storage units as some other customers might have stored these prohibited items. It has been a tremendously stressful process to go through each box and to clean up all the rat waste and chewed up debris before placing them into our new home. Perhaps this experience has taught us that the risk of rat activities is rather high in drive-up units. Lesson learned and hopefully we will plan better accordingly next time.
