Yes, it was an early morning…but the staff here could be more friendly, I’ve experienced much better at other locations. The truck cab and cargo box had not been thoroughly swept out, and many small dents and scrapes from previous users had not been marked in the usual fashion. On the plus side, the truck was ready at the appointed time, full of fuel and ran well. This is a large location that almost always has equipment available.

I recommend you allow people to sign electronically because I live 4hrs away and couldn't pop in to sign it. Otherwise staff was EXCELLENT!!!!

R. SVery busy day...Palm Sunday. Only one clerk on duty. Truck was on Empty gas tank. We were told we would be reimbursed for putting gas in the tank. Filled tank with $40 but only got $14 credit. Gas tank lid broke while tank being filled. Tank could not be recapped. Please refund us additional credit for gasoline. Thank you. Shirley McCulloch

Seeta L | Online Move In-The review is solely based on the gentleman who rented me the truck in the morning on 4/4/25 . As I waited at the counter for him to assist me ; he walked in and didn’t greet me; nor acknowledged that I had been waiting . I work as an Assistant Store Manager for Kroger and I can completely say this main failed on the customer Service part . I normally don’t do these reviews but I feel I didn’t , no one would be able to take this feedback and coach him on this behavior. The entire transaction seem as if I was bothering him from doing his job , and came off very combative. He also didn’t give me the correct key or paperwork to the correct truck ; so I had to come back to him a second time to let him know that the truck he told me to go to , wasn’t the correct key he gave me. When returning the truck , I absolutely had a pleasant return. The lady who checked me out , encouraged me to make sure I put in a review on experience I had with this particular gentleman. She was able to look at the previous mileage and determine on how many miles I used . Please have her train that associate on how to treat customers , because she is absolutely amazing.

AELICKA CWebsite advertised a discount if we rented storage at the same time as the moving truck. Unfortunately there was no discount. U-haul moving is always reliable and easy to use… I’m not sure yet how I feel about the storage as it seems a little on the expensive side.

Office staff should prioritize more attention to customers than sharing their personal life experiences with coworkers.
HERBERT NI returned my rental a day early. Howver, the individual that accepted my equipment never updated my rental. When I called back the following day, my rental was still not shown as returned. Your staff needs improvement.

SHAVENE LTruck had less than a quarter tank of gas (49 miles to E). Smelled like smoke. Was missing the passenger side windshield wiper. And the floor had a dried up sticky spill.
TORENZO BTruck’s check engine light was on. Didn’t go over 40 mph with foot on gas pedal all the way to the floor. Was clean given its driving condition but definitely needs to be in somebody’s shop. Staff was pretty nonchalant. Haven’t received a final receipt for my transaction.

AUDREY KThe older gentleman helping me didn’t show me the unit at all. Then gave me the wrong unit, didn’t offer any type of help, was very condescending, rude, offensive towards me and my father that was helping me move. Then when I told him I didn’t want the unit anymore He STILL proceeded to keep the unit under my name, and did not cancel the unit per immediate request. If it wasn’t for a clerk woman that was there checking units calling me. I wouldn’t have known the storage was still active. I was very disappointed, discouraged, and was put through emotional stress after driving hours from Delaware to Virginia. To be treated as if I was the problem instead of getting direct help.

Michael J | Overall ExperienceFirst they gave me a unit that was up a flight of stairs and was not warned that until after the rental. I tried changing it but since it was after hours I could not. Then there was no lock in the unit. Third, the overhead door was open when I got there and remained open for the duration of time I was there (probably for at least an hour) and is easily accessible to anyone coming from the outside.

After going back n unloading most of stuff out rental van the card failed to let me in…. JAMES E | First ImpressionsI had many complaints concerning the rude staff. Tamika was the worst. I would call all day trying to make my payment and they would keep telling me to hold on. I dont care if I called 15 times. They were rude over the phone. This happened for months! 10 months to be exact! If you ask to speak to the manager they lie and say he's not there. Seems like the employees were the ones running the place and not the manager. I went through so much just to have to pay them my hard earned money! The storage prices are way too high for such a extremely small unit. When I took out my belongings after storing them there since February of 2024 there mas a mouse trap with blue poison in a white bag that a mouse had bitten into and ate. So, there are mice or rats in there! And I had childrens toys in there. And so I have to disenfect the toys before any child can play with them. I moved out on December 7, 2024. My whole experience there was an absolute NIGHTMARE! I made 2 complaints to the customer service complaint line. I am happy to be done with them!!

I will be hesitant to move some of the things I planned to put in there for fear it will pick up that smell. There is also broken glass in the foundation joint across from our unit. The loading area was also very crowded with uHaul trucks, making it very difficult to leave as two other customers showed up while we were moving boxes in. Not being able to call the front desk to ask them to move the trucks at all was also very annoying.

The unit was small, like a box and the facility walking in you can smell mold once getting into the unit and open the door, the mold was so strong to the point it gave me a headache Caused my son eyes to water. We have very bad sinus issues and our sinuses irritated from the smell of the mold that we had to take medication was very disappointed in this location and unit.

Shatia T | Overall ExperienceI don't like being lied to as a paying customer, the only reason I rented a Uhaul truck is because of the price. They say that your credit card is not kept on file, it was charged anyway and this caused a red mark on my credit, I had mentioned that to the manager and he really didn't seem to care about that. The only person that helped me was the nice young lady that works there, the manager is more concerned about making money instead of helping out a customer. My biggest concern is that the security guard at the Walmart store in the parking lot across from the storage area was keeping an eye on things at the time of my wife and kids were loading the truck, no Uhaul employees checking in on the customers safety and well being while on the property. Then you have strange people walking up to you. Asking you for help and they're not part of your family, Anybody from the street can walk in there and not be stopped, No one closes the garage door they leave it open... Not a safe place to be and there is minimal light outside. If I could give you zero stars I would.

No one called me back so when I called back the unit I originally was told I would get was given to someone else. So I now have this tiny unit where all my stuff barely fits but I got it in there. Then I was told to do the online check in so that a lock could be placed in my unit orior to move in … no lock was in the unit. The next day I called about the lock they placed the lock on my unit and then could not find the keys. Not a horrible experience but definitely could have been better. Not 100% unsatisfied but not 100% happy either. Nonetheless I have moved that’s the most important part

With rental trucks taking up most of the area it was tight to back the trailer up to the loading dock. Not impossible but tight. Everything else was great! Having moving dollies was a life saver!!!

I was able to retrieve a key from the storefront/customer entrance area, but I would have liked to have been able to move in my things without this hiccup.

Uhaul charged me on the 28th, I said I was unaware of this and I told the lady she never said anything about coming in to cancel, I was busy at work and frustrated and I was hung up on, the lady told the manager I was screaming and cussing I was not. I went up there the manager, in from of the customers is accusing me of cussing when I didn’t. Employees will say anything to make themselves right. The manager was rude. I just want my money refunded.

Loved that I could sign up online and cancel online as well whenever I needed. The staff that helped me at different times during my use here was always friendly and helpful! Loved that the storages were mostly indoor because it felt safer to be there and just felt my stuff was safer there as well!

The measurements of door width and turn corners should be advised. I specifically asked both the phone representative and the location representative about the needed measurements, which they assured the facility can accommodate. This was untrue. I found a facility that can accommodate my belongings at a more reasonable fee.

After noticing the problem, I notified management and asked for a refund because of the condition of the units. They cancelled my units, kept my money and rented my unit to someone else all in the same day! Stay away from this place. There are definitely better, cleaner and cheaper options close by…inspect and check on other options first! lesson learned!!

Only one at a time can load or unload and some units are quite a ways from the overhead door so it takes a while. It's very crowded in the back lot with trucks, not much room to turn around and back to the door.

But, it was $30 extra a month because it was a slightly bigger unit. - The loading dock to the building where my unit was located was blocked by other U-Haul parked trucks and a personal vehicle. When I called the office to rectify the situation they said “someone will be by to move the trucks. We were at the facility unloading stuff into the storage unit for easily two hours and no one ever came to move the trucks. We were pressed for time, so we proceeded to load and unload from a further point instead. I believe U-haul owes me some discount on the room I was forced to take instead.

When I was making my reservation I told the lady that I needed the biggest unit because I told her what all I had, I ended up with a unit that I couldn’t fit all my belongings and ended up putting the rest of my belongings in my niece garage because by this time the office was closed so I had nowhere to put my stuff. When I turned in the Uhaul the next day I was told that I went over 14 miles well the reason for is because I had nowhere to put my belongings so I had to store them in her garage the plan was to leave the truck there at the Uhaul place needless to say I was not happy with my experience and also when we went to pick up the truck in North Carolina we were sent to the wrong address my experience was not at all the greatest. Hopefully I would here from someone.

Although the staff was helpful, providing false information isn’t acceptable. I said I would recommend someone else to UHAUL because I did get a polite staff, but again, they should be truthful on what can actually fit into a storage. If they are not sure then they should say so, and tell the customer that they recommend them to see it.

I asked where I was gonna put a huge truck, moving from Florida to Virginia and she shrugged at me. The next day was no better trying to get checked in. Same girl. Same bad attitude. Whoever called later to resolve an issue was much better but we're never using uhaul to move again after this experience.

I waited almost a year and then had to send a friend who lives locally to pick them up for me. The lack of communication regarding the keys was not what should have happened. Every time I called, someone who tell me that the keys haven't been mailed because they were waiting on people's updated addresses so all the keys could be mailed at once. To me, that doesn't make any sense. They could have mailed in batches. Aside from that experience, the storage experience was good.
