The staff consisted of three females and one male. This four manned team were nothing less than polite, professional, helpful and most of all very friendly and easy to talk too. I felt very welcomed and comfortable laughing with them while getting my business done. Out of the three females was one older black female who stood out to me because, I could tell that she fostered a very motivated and customer friendly environment that puts ease on the daily stressors of hard work. I rented from the Hampton U-haul twice, both times it was a snap! Their equipment is generally new (both trucks had <20K miles), the staff is helpful, the rental process was a breeze, and the price is right. These guys know the definition of customer service - great job.

The floor was so slippery that we almost fell several times and hurt our selves. Then I was over charged . Then 15 dollars fro an 1/8 of a tank of gas. I will never use uhaul again.

I reserved a one way, when I went to pick it up I was told I had to bring it back to that location, so I did but when I returned the truck I had to wait because they had to call the location that I was supposed to drop off the truck so they could deck it in and transfer it back to the hampton location, very poor experience, I will not refer that branch at all

Our truck was parked on the other side of the building away from the office and other people. my husband is disabled and it was very difficult for us to get to the other side. It would have been nice for someone to offered to bring the truck around to the office for us. Also we were harassed by a man wanting money who was drunk. My husband had to drive off quickly and I had to run around the building with my son to get back to our car to get away from the man. Number one the truck should have been at the office side or once we were checking in someone should have went and got it for us, since there were multiple people outside standing around not doing anything but talking. If the truck had been on the office side, we probably wouldn't have had the problem with the drunk man. In the Hampton Roads market you have to think of the safety of your customer. The office staff were friendly and helpful. They just need to go that extra especially since you can plainly see my husband is disabled.

I had a VA Driver's license and a VA ID card, because the license was paper, the clerk refused to rent to me. Therefore the rental process was a hassle, because it cost me another day in a hotel. Very costly mishap, the paper clearly said temporary license and it was still within the the 10 day mailing period.

The rep that assisted me acted as if she sidnt want to be at work... She didnt give me the correct information about the gas and then tried to charge me for it... I had to ask for the manager in order to get the gas charge taken off my transaction.. The manager was really nice but the rep was not friendly at all

I left at 8:15 and was back by 9:14 I didn't go 14 Mile's but I was charged $32.00. With a truck that say $19.95 plus I put $5.00 in the gas tank. I could have paid someone $37.00 to pick up and deliver I will just pay someone to move something for me next time.

I thought customers that had storage space accounts had cheaper access to van or pickup rentals. It cost me $35 to shuttle one piece from the facility to my home that wa 1 mile away! Otherwise a smooth and easy transaction.

I had a pick up approx. 9am It the 1st location which it turns out I would have had to pick up a truck @ that Williamsburg location then to go to a Newport News location to pick up a Tow dolly. I op to go to another location in Hampton about 30 mins away from 1st in order to get a truck and tow dolly together ant 1 location my reservation now moved from the 1st location to new one had me scheduled to arrive for equipment pickup @ 11am When I arrived the store seemed pretty busy about 5 persons were awaiting in line and about 3 agents working at the checkout. I waited roughly 25 30 mins and when I being attended to there were some issues in verifying the equipment/ tow dolly that was recommended for my Dodge Grand Caravan once it was solved to get the equipment took another 30 mins to acquire and though the agent was great was seemingly pleasant/personable and tried to be helpful in delivering the service no one including the manager/supervisor knew anything about setting up/attaching the dolly to my vehicle and was after a few failed attempts was told I could read instructions on fender of dolly or printed with my paperwork this was even told to me by 1800 U-Haul customer service. over the phone and a recommendation to watch a you tube video to figure it out. Besides the agent who tried her hardest to assist I was assisted by 2 customers whom I solicited while they were attempting to also pick up rentals. After about 2 1/2 hours past pick up time I was able to pick up truck along with my vehicle in tow between 2-3pm While loading up my equipment the U-Haul truck got stuck in the grass/mud in the back yard of my residence U-Haul was called to locate roadside service once contacted they were there within an hour when they arrived the driver/roadside assistance person told me that he didn't think we could clear a tree stump in the back yard and told me the recommends us taking off the tow dolly and then he told us after using the whole 30-40 mins making deductions as to whether my van could clear or not. He asked me to wait inside and once done he would let us know. He pulled the truck out of the soft spot and when he thought it was clear packed up his tow equipment and tried to drive the U-Haul truck it was still not cleared as wheels kept spinning he did this about 3 times then when he figured that the U-Haul truck was cleared he told us he would need to disconnect the U-Haul from the dolly carrying my van and that it wasn't a part of the service to reconnect it we would need to enlist someone else to move my vehicle and that in order for them to call someone else that would return with a 4x4 drive vehicle to pull us out it would cost $ 300.00 which we needed to contact U-Haul to enquire would they pay. U-Haul of course declined although it was a job that should have been within the limits and time to complete without any cost we were told to us. The road side assistance person told us if we wanted he could call someone else and then he had to go
