BRIAN TWhen ordering I could only select 6am for pickup. Facility not open at that time. Was planning to call next day to question time but they called and implied it was ok to pick up later. Upon arrival at 9 I was told reservation had cancelled because we were late. I was only offered 26ft truck as an alternative even though they had a yard full of other trucks. While I was there I heard another customer being told the same thing as they were ”late” for pickup too. I had no other option as this place was the closest to my location and I was basically on my own having to drive that big truck. The truck was in poor shape and every time I pressed gas pedal it began to tremble and shake. I eventually learned to press the gas pedal before I wanted to move so it would be ready to move when the street lights turned green. Luckily it was only 10 miles round trip. That truck seemed very unsafe. I hope I never have to use U-Haul again.

SUSAN M104,128 Was the U-Haul claim that I received the rental at, The actual miles I received the rental started at 104,137. I dropped it off at 104,142. I told the girl at the front it wouldn’t be no more than 2 miles from the beginning, which the move ended up being 2 more miles because I had to make a second trip. How does it make sense and no one did more research or looked at the photos taken at the beginning of the trip. So know you all are trying to overcharge me.

Netzahualcoyotl ADuring morning pickup there was limited staff which significantly slowed the process of getting the rented equipment and made me late to my first stop.
Craig LI was extremely disappointed with the extra mileage charge. Please provide clearer information about the allowed mileage. The 77 miles included does not cover the distance between the two house locations. The distance from the house I'm moving from to the new house is 94 miles, and this does not account for the locations of each U-Haul center. The total distance between the houses and the U-Haul centers is approximately 116 miles.

PAUL WScheduled mobile pickup and when I got there it said no truck was assigned to my name. Location opened up at 7am and no one arrived until 7:15a. The truck was fine and clear but the customer serviced sucked.

I mean, a guy came in to help who was even off and they still needed help. This is a popular, mainstream location because of the customer service and the services offered compared to surrounding locations.

CHERYL RThe General Manager was pleasant and helped me with the rental. The employee who checked the rental in was also nice and offered excellent customer service. It's a different story with the female employees who work there. They act like they don't want to help anyone and hide or pretend they're busy to avoid helping customers. I stopped in after picking up my rental with a question and they guy who usually helps me was busy and yep,you guessed it same behavior by the 2 females there. I found another U-Haul and will be going there instead in the future. Maybe when business dies down upper management will let go of the employees who dont want to work and who mess up the environment with there toxic attitude.

MICHAEL GThe rental products such as sheets, dollies, etc., should be in the vehicle when rented through the app and moved to a location that allows easy access and locating the rental. It would have been 50% faster. Overall, very pleased.

AMANDA Rthe back bumper was damaged and the attendent did not do a walk through like before it was left up to me to check and document the damage before leaving the lot. the process was not that easy to understand and this could cause problem for your customers with documenting.
GLORIA CWe were told to leave the keys in the cab, which we did. The keys were left in the cup holder. We received a call the following day asking us where we'd left the keys. Not wanting to get charged for something, we attempted to call back several times. The first time we got through, we were left on hold for 7-10 minutes. Called back another time and was put on hold, but only for a few minutes. Gave them my contact information and they told us that they'd found the keys already. Not a terrible thing to happen, but it was a bit annoying to lose 20 minutes to that. Not related to this site: I keep getting push notifications to start my return through the app even though the truck was returned more than 24 hours ago and it was processed through the app.

I didn't leave the location until I received a printed receipt. The employee wanted us to back the trailer into the parking spot. I have rented from U-Haul on several occasions and have never had to back in the trailer and unhook the equipment. Was the location clean and inviting? Clean Yes Inviting No

JAMES HThere was confusion about the contract, specifically the distribution program. The person who checked us out made it seem like it was my fault not knowing something and not saying something, when, in reality, it’s UHauls fault for having differing advice/guidance. Things should be the same over the phone as they are in store. They were helpful beyond this.

Blanca EI had to drive with a window open in 20 degree weather due to the constant smell of gasoline inside the truck. The truck needs an alignment badly, the steering wheel was way off center and the steering itself was way too loose, wish I could post a picture here but I’ll do that on Google! The truck was completely iced over when I picked it up, door to the cargo area wouldn’t open; also no windshield washer fluid to clear the ice or keep the windshield clean while driving around. A less skilled driver would not be able to handle these things so if your target customer is a NC native, I highly suggest you fix this truck before renting it again!

bruce l | Overall ExperienceIn my move from the mountains to the foothills Uhaul’s equipment was helpful and prices seemed reasonable, however I am moving on a budget and was given a quote for a specific amount of miles (which I did not use all of). Before returning the truck I fueled up to the exact line in which I was instructed to. This was done by watching the gas gauge go up when fueling up and double checking by calculating the amount of miles I had used and average MPG. In order to make certain that I properly filled the tank, I even went over almost a full gallon from my calculation and from the needle meeting the point. However after returning the keys I received an invoice in my email informing me that I had been charged on top of my reservation for not filling the tank properly. This is very frustrating as I said I am moving on a budget and I took the time to make sure I filled the tank correctly and still got charged.

If these could be moved further to either ends of building and removed on weekend that would help. Lines are always long. Manager is great! When he’s there, he will help two people at once - while one is paying he will jump to other register and start them. He keeps the line moving and especially helpful when a person is just returning or has a quick question. However I did not notice that when he was not there. Otherwise top notch facility with great and friendly staff!!

renita f | Overall ExperienceStaff is extremely rude and poorly trained. Doors to storage unit were routinely locked during business hours. Long lines due to poorly trained staff, staff loitering in parking lot in the way of moving vehicles. Once a staff member going the wrong way in the parking lot got out of her truck and screamed at me to back up when she clearly saw me midway through the path before she started pulling towards me in the opposite direction of traffic flow. There are cockroaches in the storage units and many other pests including grasshoppers that were an infestation in my external unit even though we only stored there for 3 weeks. The alarms go off often times for 15 minutes or more and it is unbearably loud, also seems like a security issue. This happens multiple times per visit.Staff loiters in units checking to see what people leave behind and discuss openly what they will take, which is uncomfortable. Water fountains do not work and the internal units are temperature controlled but the temperature is often 78-80.

I was transferred to the complaint department and they verified my free month as well. The asst manager called her boyfriend who is the general manager of the store and he would not honor my free month as well. The rep on the phone filed a complaint against the store and called the general manager herself to get the issue solved. The asst manager even threatened to put me out the store just because I said “it’s always us”! I was never rude to her during the whole ordeal! These situation wasted a lot of my time and my movers time! I would like to personally file a complaint against the asst manager and the general manager. Once the issue was solved the asst manager didn’t even apologize!

The place was not always clean bathroom was really beyond using very unsanitary even at time we are experiencing please fight the this battle with keeping everything wiped down at all times and cost.If some staff members would have a warm greeting to the customers. Josh is the employee of all times he conducts himself as one of the most valuable employees in the business to represent U Haul in every area.He truly express every helpful moment. He should be the operational manager He never stop until his task is complete. Maybe Joe should consider a new training program I have been dealing with center since it was built and moved to where it is today. The service has change and it should go back to old times where it had great Standards,Great Sarvice,and High Values . I will always use U Haul Center . There was no lock in our unit as promised. Moved in 11/4 with our own lock, tried to move more items in on 11/10 but there was a facility lock on our door preventing us from accessing the unit. Looked at our online account, it says we are past due but a month has not passed therefore we should not be locked out. Tried calling number posted for after hrs 3x with no answer. Found office unlocked and sliding door still operational. Looked to see if someone was still on site, found no one. Tried calling number again, finally reached someone who said they would try to find someone to come out. Someone did finally arrive but only secured office. Said he couldn't help us access our unit. We are now left with a truckload of belongings and nowhere to store them. This is completely unacceptable behavior!

The facility was a 0 for me with the roaches that occurred within the first week. The response to fix this issue could have been much quicker. It’s not really a fix but the bug bomb killed off anything that was on the soft bags. Unfortunately, (now I know) with it being an outside unit, this is common. The rating is in no way a reflection on the staff. Terrance and Shaun were also very helpful from the start with reporting the issue. Jeremiah the GM was great once he understood there were roaches and took care of it to the best of his abilities, except it was too late (3-weeks in). The issue with this location is the roaches which appeared in my unit the very first week. I lost several items due to the roaches including memento that were damaged and irreplaceable. The area manager Michelle was supposed to contact me and never did. I am saddened by this experience. The only reason I would not recommend this facility, is the roach problem. The staff, were as helpful as could be with the circumstances. This facility really needs to contract with professional services like Terminex and Orkin. I would have never place my items here had I know there was a roach issue. If you choose to store here, make sure you know there is a roach problem in the outside units and store all your items in air tight plastic bins.

The employees found an available inside storage unit that I used for now, but I really needed an outside access unit. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating.

We talked to duke power employees who were fixing the broken transponder and they let us know what had happened. I had to pay an additional $600.00 for the movers to then take my belongings to their Raleigh storage facility to hold until I could find another storage facility. When I called for a refund the next day, no one apologized. I was told, "i had booked the facility for 11-20, if I had just moved in then, this wouldn't have happened." I was very disappointed by the staff's response and lack of empathy. I have received my refund and will not be working with or reccomending u haul in the future.

In that two months, I was hassled with mail, emails, and phone calls regarding rent that I wasn’t responsible for and statements regarding lien on my property (which had been moved out before my one free month was even up). Uhaul support told me they’d contacted the manager three times on my behalf but the issue was not resolved until I got a phone call from a representative asking me when I was going to pay the back rent and fees. After I told her I’d moved out months ago and submitted a move out request before my free month was over, she promptly said she would remove me from the system.
Tia M | Overall ExperienceThe instructions to access the building worked perfectly, but the doors didn’t work. Additionally, there was still a lock on my unit when I arrived at at 7:50pm. This is 10 minutes before they close. When I went to the front, they asked me if I had ever been there before. I said no I reserved online. I can only imagine they’re supposed to keep track of those with online move-ins to unlock units before tenants arrive. I was told by the employee, “Word of advice, don’t arrive 10 minutes before we close.” He went and unlocked the lock I said Thank you and he said nothing in return. Additionally, the climate in that side was reading 88 which is outside the range they promise for climate controlled storage. It’s supposed to be maintained from 75-85 degrees. Finally, they promise you a free lock in the unit. There was no lock provided. Online process was easy, but this facility is a disaster. I DO NOT recommend anyone move into this location.

The woman who reserved the storage rental over the phone for me reserved one that was half the size of what we needed, and you can imagine our dismay after traveling 5 states! "Y" was very quick to assure us that he would take care of it and fix the situation. He was compassionate to our frustration over the situation and understanding in our apologies that our upset was not directed at him. He worked diligently to find us 2 storage units that were relatively close to each other, took his time to walk us through how to get there, including highlighting a map and providing us with it AND taking us personally there. He took the time to explain that the codes take 24 hours to upload before they stop setting off the alarm, how to enter the codes, the best doors to unload and come through, and what the best locks were for us to get. As we were in the midst of unloading the truck with helpers and movers and figuring out what was going into each unit, "Y" took the time to walk over to us to let us know his shift was ending and to see how we were doing and if there was anything we needed or anything further he could do for us. I asked a few questions about returning the truck while we were still there and their hours and he took the time to not only answer those questions but to just chat and laugh a bit. When I asked about if we needed to extend our storage a bit, he assured me that I could just call him and he would handle it for me. He truly is an exemplary employee who is not only focused on the customer's needs, but clearly on the entire customer experience. He exhibited excellence and, in my humble opinion, deserves a promotion and a raise. (While he was taking care of us, I also watched him help his coworkers with issues and support his manager all without missing a beat.)

I overheard several phone calls and they were always polite and friendly with those customers, and with the in-person customers they were as well, and offered all the protections (distancing, hand sanitizer, etc) to keep everyone safe. But beyond that, they worked REALLY WELL together as a team. It was obvious that they liked and respected each other, communicated well, and were primarily concerned with making sure the customers got what they wanted. Would absolutely use again.
