The self check-in process was not at all simple. We weren't told in advance that documentation we'd need. There was no instruction about where to go to get the truck; nor was it clear where we should get the key. The staff were nice but also weren't clear on the process.

The manager of this location, Stephanie, is superb. She also has a good number of kind employees working for her. Sadly, on this visit, as in previous visits, we had another bad experience with employees out on the lot. In this visit my assistant at the car was harshly scolded by the employee who came out to see that the trailer we rented was properly attached to the car. The employee undid what my assistant had done, he did it his way, which was incorrect. If asked, I can gladly explain why the employee's manner of hooking up the chains on this trailer made it more vulnerable. Even more important than the employee's poor job hooking up the trailer was the employees extremely rude remarks to my assistant, out at the car. I expect that this is perhaps the last time I will rent from this location. This experience, and the previous experience in which I was totally ignored by a group of African-American employees at this location, as prompted me to use a different U-Haul rental location. As a psychologist, I am cautious to even mention the prospect of racial discrimination, but I cannot draw any other conclusion. Dr P Smith

When I signed up to rent my van, there was nothing mentioned about having to put gas in it, I assumed the .49/mile would be covering that, so was unhappy about about then being charged another $10 for them to put gas in it. After they told me about the charge they said I could go and fill it myself, but at that point I was not in the mood. The advertised “rent the truck for 19.95” is definitely not true, the total was over $60 at the end of it all for only 4 hours of use. I will definitely try to find a friend next time.

I signed up to do the fast pick up. I had a few questions. The employees acted like they were too busy to answer any questions despite the fact that I was the only customer in the store.

Make sure trucks are in good working order before giving them to customers.

Used phone app for check out and back in. App is cumbersome and time consuming with all the pictures, etc. Took longer than when I recently used counter service twice in the last two months. I will opt for counter service next time.

I came in advance to make sure my car was ready for the Uhaul rental 3 days later. A uhaul employee looked at my car and attached the ball fitting. I was ready to go. I returned At 7:30 pm on Saturday night to get the 5x8 trailer. I was told I could not get the trailer because I did not have the lighting connection. I was mad and upset. Josh agreed to stay late and install the lighting kit. While I appreciate his customer service all this could have been avoided with a checklist of what was needed on my earlier visit.

Stop taking the money off of the debit card when the client is paying cash. We have to wait to be able to use our money until you put it back. This is all after promising not to charge the card. You lie every time we give you the card number.

I was kind of curious why I had to fold all the furniture pads I rented, or face a $25 fee. Don’t you all have to re-fold and package anyway? Not a huge deal...I was very happy with the service and he price.

The cab was filthy. A little cleaning would have keep me from feeling discussed.

I filled out the online forms and signed in ahead of time, but when I got there, it was if I had done nothing at all. We started over from scratch, and the attendant simply said, "We have to treat you like a new contract (even though you've already reserved the truck and checked in with all the right information). The truck was not full of gas, and there's no way I can "guess" how many gallons are needed to fill it up -- so I ended up giving you around 2-3 free gallons of gas (because I brought it back full). But the main thing that makes me angry is that i was charged $25 for clean up fee. The furniture pads were not folded up, and I acknowledge that -- but I was not informed that I was supposed to fold them up ever, by anyone, and by the time I returned the truck, I was running late for a plane. I had no options but accept the charge. But even though they said that it was $20 for the folding of pads, the charge on my bill is $25. I have no idea why they threw in an extra $5. Other than the pads the truck was not only immaculate -- it had more gas than when I left the lot. (You can check that against the gas gauge thing on your contracts going out and returning). I think your policy of having the pads returned folded is stupid, but at least you could have warned me ahead of time. And your process at the desk is completely inefficient. And I guarantee you, if I ever rent from UHaul ahead (which I doubt), I never take a truck that is not completely full. It's just your way of ripping off responsible customers like me who DO bring the vehicle back completely full.

The experience was efficient. My one issue was that, when I made my reservation over the telephone, the name that oukled up waa not mine and, although the representative changed my name, she never asked for my address and got the e~mail address wrong. So, I did not receive an e~mail confirmstion until the next morning when I called and learned that the e~mail was incorrect. I did nit learn about the address issue until I saw my printed cintract. The address listed was that of the person who must have had my telephone number years ago.
