I parked the truck and walked in expecting the customer service agent to welcome me and ask for my information and instruct me where to go to close out my contract. He proceeded to holler at me to go sit with my truck and that he'd have a customer service person help. I stood out there for 15 minutes. I told my father who was with me not to come in because this guy was a jerk. He proceeded to go in anyway. After being ignored some other employee who was sitting and chatting with the agent acknowledged me and when I mentioned that I am still waiting the agent got upset and yelled at Caleb who didn't respond. He then proceeded to continue to be rude to me so I started to get upset and asked where do I need to take the truck. The agent was getting confrontational as he got out of his seat and was walking at us and threatening to call the police and saying on his walkie that he was being "ATTACKED" when we were never within 15 feet of this person. My father and I were leaving the building while this agent of UHAUL was still walking toward us. I drove the truck around and Caleb checked me out for additional monies of $114. This agent/employee of UHAUL is a terrible representation of this business and his actions to be termination material. I will never look to UHAUL ever again for this type of business and neither will any of my family members.

ARMANDO JThe owner, Mr. Martin is detached and lacks crucial customer service service skills I have rented equipment from this location on several occasions. All the the other associates were very attentive and professional! Martin could learn key elements of true customer service by observing his employees During the registration process for my equipment, he left the counter and engaged in several conversations with other employees at least three times The business earns revenues from paying customers. I don't think he understands Business 101 "Treat your customers with respect". Upon my return with the equipment, I was greeted by Lucila. She is always customer focused and treats me as a valued customer. There are other U-Hail facilities near me I will utilize their facilities for my future requirements. Also, I noticed there is a high turnover of employees there. Maybe Mr. Martin lacks the skill set to attract and keep good employees!

ADRIEL AI’m a pastor and have used UHaul for decades, so much I should have purchased stock in it. My last move as a pastor was summer of 2020. I was shockingly surprised at how the customer service had degraded so much by the top leadership at this place. Communication sharp, abrupt, the person tried to do the least work as possible in processing the customer. It felt like the customer needed to pull out his own UHaul. The first truck they offered me was filthy dirt ly until I complained.

Evan WThe manager & staff at the Grissom location are awful!!!! They are rude & short with you. Martin didn’t answer any of our questions, he said “all the information you need is in the email”. He also went as far to say that COVID was the best thing that happened, that now everything is done online and that he doesn’t have to really talk to anyone. I guess Customer Service went out the door there too. The van itself smelled like a wet dog. It was dirty and had dog hair everywhere! I had to pop in a Zyrtec because the dander upset my allergies. I felt like I couldn’t breathe. They clearly don’t clean the vehicles after each use. The return was just as bad. Here we are rushing to drop off our rental before the 8:30am time that is in our contract and the office doesn’t open until 9am. There was staff outside so we asked this gentleman if we made it on time and he said “I don’t know, it’s not my problem”. We would have liked to have spoken to someone but the doors were locked even though there was about 5 people inside. No one made any attempt to help us so we just left. I will NEVER rent with UHaul again!!!!! Thank you U-Haul for the terrible experience. We are now looking to buy a van so that we don’t go through this again. And we would never recommend your services to anyone either. Pure shameful

Keegan GI would recommend that Anthony G go through more customer service training. When I returned my trailer he was extremely rude told me to move my vehicle as he had another customer to help. Told him I was just dropping off, he said he didn’t care. I would normally use this location for rentals but now I won’t.

The back door indicator displays as open when the doors were close.These issues should have been resolved before the equipment was rented out. My belongings could have been stolen.

I truly believe they need more training and reminded how to speak and treat customers because this was absolutely ridiculous

PATRICIA SI recently used U-Haul for a rental, and unfortunately, my experience with the online reservation system was not great. I had originally booked a pick-up at one location and accidentally selected "drop off at the same location" instead of a different return location. When I realized the mistake and called customer service to get it corrected, I was told they could not assist with making the change. I understand that policies are in place for a reason, but the lack of flexibility and support in resolving this issue was frustrating. A little more assistance or guidance would have gone a long way. The online portal is not very user-friendly in this regard, and I would have appreciated an easier way to modify my reservation.

I moved to a better, technologically advanced from security system to account management on their app and way way better priced on exactly the same storage unit size. Here, the monthly rental rate keeps on getting more expensive and yet the technology is way behind and no elevator convenience in the facility or at least a ramp. All the great efforts of the staff are all useless. Caleb, the very helpful staff who facilitated my moving-out from the system doesn’t have any explanation why the system doesn’t work.

It was then raised $10 every year give or take 2 months I always received notices prior to rent increase until this year. I received no notice just a $10 increase on my bill. Notifications were always by email and when I questioned not getting notification on the last increase I was told they sent out notification by USPS. Either way I never received it and I feel it was not properly handled. Why change notifications when all business has been conducted electronically since day one. Rates are getting out of hand as it is.

The fact that it was almost a whole week and my lock still wasn’t removed and I had to break it myself is ridiculous. There’s been multiple issues with that topic of my payments and somehow there was always a communication issue within the staff. When i moved out, they were still trying to email me about my next payment. A week went by, and they were still contacting me about my payment, but when I went to check my unit one last time, they had it ready to go for the next person. So this whole staff sucks and they never answer the phone. I called to speak with someone about my move out process getting confirmed and they had me on hold for 30 minutes until i hung up. Horrible all around and I will never have a storage here again.

However there was an older gentleman that works there that came in during the process and interrupts me while I’m speaking and started barking orders to me and was extremely rude to me and the lady at the desk that was entering my information. Not only that but when I came to get my belongings I had things that are missing, such as my head boards of my bed frame, a frame for an outdoor swinging chair and two red husky bags bags that my work tools in them such as two Milwaukee drills a brand new porter cable jigsaw, circular saw, a porter cable light and porter cable sawsall and all my batteries! Approximately $500 worth of tools. Not to mention that Everything I had in the storage is now infested with roaches. I tried calling many times but no answer.

Above my unit was a hole in the ceiling (almost directly above my unit #5202) that leaked, and after time it got big. It smelled so bad, for a long time. One other thing was pesticide that dripped down in my unit and got on a box of clothes. The stain is still evident after I swept.

As I'm new and have never come after hours, I didn't know where the check in box was and just needed some directions to locate the check in box. But no reply to text or calls. Was stranded because the chair I want to put in storage was too big for my car and someone had helped dropped it off. That night was not good and very frustrating. I get its after hours but if you can't reply calls or messages, then please give to someone who can.

Some staff were very helpful and friendly, such as Steven Leyva and Ruben (can’t remember his last name but worked on Sunday 11/14/21 with Steven). Had an issue in my first unit; “making it right” seemed like an inconvenience to the GM and weekend manager rather than a customer service concern; it didn’t make me feel good when I was trying my best to be understanding, but they didn’t actually do anything wrong. I have no complaint about anyone or about the service or facility. I simply didn’t need the service any longer. If someone wanted a clean and very secure place for storing their things and had the budget for UHaul, I would recommend this location.

First a system error double-booked me for a uhaul and storage unit which took me an hour on the phone to have resolved. But most importantly, my storage unit reservation was apparently overbooked by 5 other people for the same unit, which left me without the proper sized storage unit once I got to the destination city. I had to go look for another unit at a third-party location and was not offered a solution or discount by uhaul. Not being reliable at the end of a giant move like this forces me to give them a 1 star review.

As a general rule, the "line" employees were always helpful and friendly. I interacted with two (2) managers during the timeframe - neither of whom displayed acceptable customer service skills. Both were - to say the least - abrupt. The first whose name escapes me appeared poorly trained and unconcerned. The second - Martin was just plain rude.

It appeared to me that when we came in and rented a storage unit and tried to rent a truck, there were workers that were either too lazy to do anything, or had actually clocked out but were still in the building, in sight of customers. The manager was in such a rush that it was impossible for us to fully understand what was happening and retain the information being presented. The next day when i picked up the truck, it turned out that whereas I thought i had rented the truck, i had only reserved it. When I returned the truck, I waited fifteen minutes for someone to show up and check the truck in. No one ever did. When I went to the Installation Bay, the fellow there was borderline rude, but was clearly belligerent in issuing instructions for me to wait in the truck and someone would be right out. Well, first off, I have a high level of education and have worked professionally as someone who writes for a living. I had read the sign and remembered having been told when renting the truck to wait with the vehicle. However, there is a limit to waiting. After dealing with Grizzly Adams and his attitude, I returned to the truck, waited another fifteen minutes, and when still no one had shown up, I started toward the sales floor to ask again, just how long I was supposed to wait. This time, there was a fellow walking out toward the check-in area, and I asked him if he was the checkin person. He said yes, but then he listed off three or four other things he had to do before he could get to me. He said if i wanted, i could just leave the keys in the truck--which I did. However, I DID take videos of the truck interior and exterior as well as the instrument panel, gas gauge, mileage, etc. While this will not keep me from doing business with UHaul again, I will certainly take a book or laptop and movie with me next time.
