I have called several times about this the woman who I spoke to on the phone the day I got the van said she would give me time since I was too short to drive the van. Next when I got to the storage location I wasn’t able to get inside the unit location because the size of the truck I told the landlords several times I didn’t want to rent at that facility because I could not get inside. My usual van is also a 26’ truck so it wouldn’t be possible based on the location of my actual unit as well and the landlord and worker coronals kept telling me they would not only give me the unit for $1 that month but also kept offering me another unit on another side but that if I chose not to that they would then give me another unit for $1 and then I can also keep the one I couldn’t get to. I’ve called so many times and I have spoken to the landlord that said she would get me two days refunded for this truck even though I got it from another location which when I went to pick up the truck it was not only NOT EVEN AVAILBLE but also I had to drive to another location across town but also had to struggle with the fact that I couldn’t fit inside physically at this location and that the landlord kept telling me him and the worker understand and was there physically to see so. This location is on a Main Street and is unable to a tiall get inside with such a large ruck and that’s why they don’t even offer that size at this location. I’m so tired of this

GASTON KSimplest to paste in what I posted on Google Reviews: Two stars for good hours, and for having what I needed on short notice. Minus three stars for sucky service. I’m very unhappy with “service” from this location. I’m a contractor, and my van was in the shop. I desperately needed a cargo van so I could get to work. None were available at my local branch, so the kind man there (Chris) reserved me a van at the South Main location. I had to Uber over there. I was very disappointed with the staff here. Mumbling, no eye contact, impersonable, and not even sure if he was talking to me, talking to each other while “helping “ me. The guy barked at me to take a photo of myself and post it here, take a photo of my driver’s license and attach it there, check text messages for a special code, hurry, hurry, hurry. There was no notice, it was difficult to figure out what he wanted, or to know if it was even secure. Lucky he didn’t demand something that required a QR code, bc my phone doesn’t have that app. And what if I didn’t have a cell phone?! Next he barked at me to give names of an alternate contact. Never had a rental place ask this before, but fair question. I wasn’t prepared, so I scrambled to think of whom I could list, and to find contact info. Next thing I know, he picked up the phone and HE CALLED MY FRIEND. Mind you, my friend had no idea I was at UHAUL, or needed a van, and, with the guy abruptly shouting questions, she would reasonably think this call was a scam. Besides that, she was a work and not available. She didn’t answer. So the UH guy demanded another name. I was frantically trying to text the next friend, to alert him to what the incoming call would be about. But the UH guy beat me to it, and mumblingly commanded my friend to vouch for me. Luckily, my friend answered correctly. I still don’t have any idea what UH was wanting to know. Eventually, UH agreed to rent me a van. When I had walked in, I noticed on the lot two Chevy vans and one Ford available. I specifically requested a Chevy, bc that’s what my personal vehicle is, and I’m familiar with driving it. After all the previously described mumbling and barking, basically, they handed me a key and kicked me out the door. I stumbled around the lot until I found a vehicle that responded to the key. Turns out they gave me the Ford. It took a lot of rigamarole to get it switched to a Chevy. At least that gal was helpful and friendly. Before you can drive off, there are more shenanigans. Take a photo of this, download it here, wait for a code via text, upload another photo, no idea why they wanted all this, where in cyberspace it was going to, or if it was secure. Nobody there helping. The van itself was clean, spacious, handled nicely, but had horrible shocks absorbers. Signs inside screamed threatening messages – like, YOU DENT IT, YOU PAY. The vehicle had no grills on windows, no security locks, UH written all over the sides, so every thief thinks the family jewels are inside it. With Houston’s crime rate, I didn’t feel my tools were safe inside this van. Price the website quotes gets inflated by the time you check out. I tell you, if I hadn’t needed the van so desperately, I would have walked off. Adding to the overall negative vibe, in the lot near the storage lockers, there were two gals digging their belongings out of a dumpster. Not sure I understood the whole story correctly, but they said that UH had kicked them out of – either their locker or truck - and shucked their possessions into the dumpster. If I had had more time, I would have jumped in there and helped them. On the positive side, this place has good hours, something like 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Easy drop off. Glad I could get a cargo van on short notice on a weekend. But overall, it was dismal service, too much hassle, questionable security, rude, and I wish I’ll never have to interact with this location again. Unfortunately, in Houston, there are not really many alternatives for a work vehicle or moving van.
JULIE YThe truck was super clean and had advanced stereo features which I enjoyed during my trips around the city moving things. What I didn't enjoy was not being clearly explained, or perhaps not clearly understanding the return policy of the vehicle regarding the gas level left in the tank. Since that may have been my mistake, I'm not going to ding the company. Overall, I have a great experience here.

Rosharon CWhen I rented the pick up truck today, Rodney didn't tell me when I was paying and signing that Uhaul doesn't allow towing with the truck, and that there is a lock on the hitch. If he had said this, I wouldn't have rented at all. I wasted precious time, money and energy, renting this truck for nothing. I was not able to get work done, . . I need to tow a very small trailer a very short distance. I returned the truck and was out $46. Very very poor of Uhaul and of the people working there! I would like to request a full refund of my this amount to my credit card, please.
ANNE PUHaul has taken the self service/automation idea TOO FAR and I find it cumbersome and dislike it. Besides having me enter ALL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION when I make an online reservation, I need to go through a song and dance and TAKE A PHOTO of my DL myself, TAKE A SELFIE myself (please don't tell me a platitude that this is for my own protection, just don't) and then do through more stuff. Once I get the trailer, I am expected to take pictures of the damn equipment AND the same once I return, which you want me to do as a self return which may or may not be possible since the UHaul app flakes out at least 50% of the times I've tried. I can't tell you how incredibly irritating and annoying your process is as I rent frequently and each time its the same. The location is OK. Your corporate policies, on the other hand, suck big time.
ALEX SListen to me when I tell you what I want and don't try to change the location for the equipment. I only want to go to the South Main NRG U-Haul. They treat me like a queen and I don't wish to rent anywhere else and you should listen when I tell you that.

And a debit card is not sufficient. - that the credit card and the driver need to be the same person - that only a 10 van can be leased with a debit card - the appointed got cancelled because I arrived 30' late due to traffic. No contact from the facility to extend, no clair disclaimer that when reserved if you don't show up there on time, your reservation get cancelled This should be clearly stated everywhere as a disclaimer in the website. I needed to come two times in two different days to ending renting a 10 van.

HENRY BOutstanding service! That is the reason I go to this U-Haul location. They cannot be beat! If you want to do something, change the other locations to be as efficient, courteous, and friendly.

We also requested to have first floor and was told that we had to be on the 2 nd floor with no elevator which was difficult for us with all the stairs. Will never recommend that location ever.

The unit I originally booked which was a down stairs unit was already taken so I had to take an upstairs unit and the place doesn’t have an elevator which was a hassle. 2. I was charged for late fee’s when my account was on auto pay. When I contacted customer service and customer service contacted the manger she basically said she would wave my fee as a one time courtesy, which I think isn’t fair because if my unit is in auto pay and your system fails to recognize that, it’s not my fault. The 3rd reason is I moved out before the next time my bill was due. I did everything that was asked on the app for move out and a few weeks later I received a bill for my unit…I called no one answered so I called customer service a ticket was created. Few more weeks later I received another notice of being late and late fees. Now this is where I get annoyed, if your personal or Manager would walk the units and paid attention you would have seen my move out request. I shouldn’t have to jump through hoops for you to do your job. I would never rent from this place again but overal U-Haul was fine.

Nonetheless, I kept getting late notices and letters in the mail. No response. Finally I contacted UHaul customer support and they were shocked at this incompetency and were very helpful. This ending soured my experience with UHaul moving and storage at nrg and I will never rent here or recommend it again.

The location is very busy and very clean, including restrooms! Miss Amanda Brown runs a tight ship where everyone seems friendly, helpful and knowledgable. I was especially impressed with her leadership and management style. She seem to work harder than anyone there and cares about the location, people and her employees. I want to especially highlight employee "Aldi or Auidi" who was always super nice and kind. Congrats to Miss Amanda for a great location, management and customer service.
